One of the best experiences I have had with a beauty treatment. Niki has a small elegant private suite within a larger of cooperative of beauty professionals working independently. She puts you at ease immediately, greeting you at the buildings' front door and escorting you to her personal space. She has an upbeat and charming personality, beginning the process with non-intrusive questions about your preferences and concerns. I am diabetic and worry about the condition of my feet and skin. A lot of beauty consultants just gloss over my apprehension with neutral acknowledgement, but Niki continued to ask what she could do to help with my uneasiness. She explained that she sterilizes her instruments and uses a disposable liner in the foot tub for pedicures. We discussed the correct way to cut toenails to eliminate any ingrown nails (which I had a history of). She allowed me to use my own polish and gave me suggestions and methods to improve my issues. I had the classic manicure and classic pedicure. Its been 2 weeks since my treatments and surprisingly my nails are just now needing a touch up. Usually with a natural manicure my nails start chipping almost immediately. My cuticles do not look ragged like they would with a manicurist who cuts too much away. She was very conservative and gentle with my fingernail treatment. I loved the way she shaped my nails; after 2 weeks they still look very elegant. The pedicure was excellent. She used just the right pressure for the massage. My skin was so dry and rough. She really put an effort into the massage and exfoliation process with a sugar scrub. She spent extra time with the determination that my feet and legs would be as smooth and as "soft as a baby's skin!" I would recommend Niki over any other hand and foot professional I have experienced here in Dallas. Found Niki through a Groupon offer for a mani/pedi. I called to book an appointment and she informed me that she is booked on weekends with standing appointments. So I booked earlier in the week instead. During my appointment, she explained that several of her customers come to her weekly, bi-weekly, or on a recurring schedule, and she allows her regular customers first pick of appointments on weekends. After that explanation, it made sense why it was impossible to get a weekend appointment with her, and I can appreciate her loyalty to her long-time customers before us newbie Groupon users. Typical large nail salons give me a little bit of anxiety. I always feel awkward, out of place, rushed around, and like I'm being yelled at. I also had a terrible experience 3 years ago from a pedicure. I haven't gotten my nails done since then, because I'm hesitant to stick my feet in a bowl of water that contains other peoples' foot germs (they might use disposable liners, but the pipe system they use to fill the bowl is still susceptible to germs and impossible to fully clean between clients). Niki's salon is a small suite located in a larger salon. She uses a small personal foot bath (that is filled by the sink, not an internal pipe system) and disposable liners. My feet felt 100% safe! It's a much more quiet setting than the large open salons, and Niki is much more personable and friendly. She was very sweet and made it a very pleasant experience. I got the Vinylux mani and pedi, because that's what my Groupon was for. It's only day 2, so I can't vouch for the quality of the vinylux products just yet. I don't typically get my nails done, but at 5 months pregnant, I can tell it's already getting more difficult to reach my toes. Niki might be seeing more of me over the next few months! I think in the future, I'll be exploring some of the other services she offers as well. Overall, I had a great experience, and would highly recommend Niki's salon to anyone who might not be a regular at the nail salons or may have some apprehension about the process. Five-star review from someone who would rather do her own nails than go to a salon: I have weak, easy to damage nails that never seem to stay consistently healthy and never grow at the same pace. After receiving an IBX nail treatment in NY that made a huge improvement to my nails' condition, I was desperate to find someone in Dallas that does the treatment. That's how I ended up finding Niki... I do not get regular manicures or pedicures due to some bad past experiences and the uncomfortable feeling I get at bigger salons that I believe are more concerned with turning quick profits than providing sanitary conditions and good customer service. The first thing she did that set me at ease was point out that she uses a refillable foot bath and disposable liners (the pipe system foot baths at most salons really creep me out). I was also impressed by the fact that Niki makes a point to attend multiple beauty conferences and training courses every year in order to stay up-to-date on the latest innovations and techniques. This was huge to me for a small business owner! Lastly, she was so honest about what she would recommend for me. She could have made a better profit giving me the NexGen nail powder I asked for, but she insisted that with the condition of my nails, I'd be better served with Nailtiques treatment and regular polish after the IBX treatment. So I went to this place the lady was cool and I appreciate everything but she claimed that my nails would last for a month. I was very happy with them at first but after a little while to days my nails started to fall she kept on insinuating that I use some sort of product for it to fall off because it has never happened before and I've gotten the same thing in so many places and never had an issue before but I want there to fix it she was cool about that too but whenever I went there two days later again those nails started falling off I politely asked her for a refund and if not I understand because it is a business to give me at least Half amount of what I paid because essentially it was $70 but I gave her a tip of $10 I wanted at least $35 back for it because she said that it would last for a month and her words don't match up to the actions that I perceived and she kept on saying that she worked really hard on them and she worked for 30 minutes which from a business perspective I completely understand being a small business owner myself but the reality was that I did not want to go there every two days to keep fixing my nails because she should've said that she did not know what she was doing instead of me wasting my money time and my effort she should've gave me a refund but she didn't and she kept on blaming me for using something else and refusing any of it was her fault because I consulted the situation with my nail tech friend and there was a problem with her base later on and I was truly disappointed because I really needed a good nail place but if you are wanting trendy nails.
