I came in on a whim before an out of town trip as the ratings were high and every review seemed positive. I showed up, with no appointment for a manicure and a pedicure. And lucky for me, they got to me within 10 minutes! First and foremost the layout of the salon is very modern and very well kept--everything is in its place and all work areas were clean without smelling like cleaning solution. Definite thumbs up. The ladies here are extremely nice. I think what surprised me most, is how quiet the shop was. Literally silent despite the audibles of nails being worked on. The customers--three of four chairs taken--weren't talking to the nail techs and the nail techs only spoke to ask questions. Definitely a change of pace from other salons I've been to. Setting the expectation-- this isn't your average salon for pedicures... while you do get a big comfy chair to sit in, there is no fancy massager built-in or a giant bubbling basin to soak your feet in. In fact, I soaked my feet in a collapsible bucket with lukewarm water. HOWEVER... the pedicure was decent enough. Sugar scrub was included... and the nail filing and cuticle trimming was pretty good. Being that I didn't want to complicate my service, I opted for a solid white gel nail for my toes. Simple. Clean. Perfect for vacation. Worth $65? Debatable. We'll see how long they last. For my manicure however, I chose to do builder gel on my nails with a specific design my fiancé found on Pinterest. My nail tech, Mandy-- really brought the vision to life straight from the Pinterest board! The best part of this was having Mandy confirm with me every step of the way to make sure I was satisfied with how everything looked and felt. I'm so happy with how everything turned out, I look forward to coming back to this location for future manicure services! Just one last note: the ladies here prefer you pay for services on your card and tip with cash, so be sure you are ready for these types of transactions!!

A newer nail salon in Redwood City quoted me $50 EXTRA for the design so I literally got up and left because that's ridiculous and I won't be taken advantage of. At other salons, my nails can take up to 90 minutes because they're helping other people and doing god knows what but she had me in and out with beautiful nails in 30 min so I definitely found my new nail spot. If I could give negative stars to rate this nail salon quality and management, I would!…read more The first thing that happened after I had been going to Meew for about a year was, I went to checkout after my service one day and noticed that my total was $55 less that day. I asked the receptionist why and she looked at my service history and saw that I had been being over charged for a different service that whole time. When I reached out to the owner Anna to have her review my past services and issue me a credit towards future appointments she kept pushing me off, saying "I will look tomorrow" . As this went on for weeks. I came into the salon and saw her decorating the front door and asked if we could get this sorted and she told me she was busy decorating and would get back to me, continuing to put me off. I ended up taking matters into my own hands and requesting my history from the receptionist and added up the total and told them how much of a credit I have and had to keep a log myself until I was made whole in that situation. I had been going to this very expensive nail salon for almost 2 years. Before I took a nail break due to a fingernail infection that I suspect was caused by this salon. I had several issues with my gel polish peeling off of my nails over the last few months I was going there. Twice I had the gel polish peeling off same day/next day before even taking a shower and when I contacted the salon they were telling me that it had to be something I was doing. I had to go in twice within 72 hours to get my nails fixed. My guess is that the products they are using are no good and not sticking to the nail bed and I have several friends that experience the same thing. (My girlfriend got her nails done before heading to a wedding in Europe and had to attend with no polish on one nail because the whole thing peeled off in one piece. ) I reached out to an old nail tech I previously saw and she recommended which base and top coat to use. I then purchased those products and brought them with me the last time I was in and my polish lasted 2 weeks+ (that was the fix). But after that my nail became infected. I was diagnosed by my primary physician and was prescribed antibiotics to take for a week as well as an antibiotic ointment to use. Not using my best judgement, now that my finger is healed and I have an event coming up I tried to schedule an appointment and planned to bring my own products when I realized that I was blocked from booking. I reached out to the salon and this is what the owner responded to me. Telling me that I'm the blame, saying that I expect my nails to last a month, when my complaint was about my nails not lasting even 24 hours. She is now refusing me as a client and acting as if I have gotten aggressive with her and is threatening legal action. I have also had a friend tell me she had the same experience, they told her they would refund her. Never did, and my friend had to call her bank to get her money back. Over $200 for a manicure that did not last 48 hours. Unacceptable. I will attach screenshots of my conversation with the owner. Also, not registered with BBB.
