I have loved this place for a long time, I have been going here for about a year now, and ever since I've started going here and seeing Heather, everything has been great! I always get tons of compliments on my nails, and everyone loves the intricate designs. The inside decor is absolutely gorgeous and they have a wide variety of polish selection to choose from! I love everything about this place. There is only one reason I am giving 4 stars instead of 5 and that is because, today my sister and I went together for the first time, and my sister asked for a basic pedicure ($30) and they gave her the Spa Pedicure ($65) but they gave her a discount of ($56) When we got home, my mom called and Heather told us that if we come back, they will give my sister the $26 difference. We went back in to het the money and the lady who did her nails was very upset and kept saying "I told her, I told her." and Heather had to finally tell the lady to be quiet, Heather was very nice and polite about it, but the other lady was rude and kept making mean faces at my sister. Do not go! While this nail salon is convenient I will never return. The nail tech who did my pedicure pressed her nail underneath my toe nail to remove excess polish from the poor job she was doing and pressed her fingernail so hard under my nail that she caused me to bleed. My mom and I have been coming to this nail salon for years and neither of us have ever left with our nails looking anything but perfect! My acrylics nails not only look amazing when I get them done here but they always last so long! I can go weeks without having to get them filled and I've only ever had 1 nail break on me out of the dozens of super long full sets I've gotten here (any time I've gotten them done at a different salon I've had multiple nails break within days). Nails Du Jour is a business that does not have integrity or ethics. The owner is gouging and rushing every customer to make a buck. I used to go to Lansdowne Nails but one day when they were booked I found Nails Du Jour. I was able to walk in and get a pedicure. Heather, the owner, noticed that I wear extended eyelashes. She asked me where I get them done and then proceeded to tell me she would do a fill for $50.00. I made an appointment to get a fill and when it was time to pay she charged me $100.00. I asked her why and she said Oh, I thought you wanted Mink Lashes. A few months later I went in to get lashes again and she said she had to put on a new set. The new set cost me $165. It only took her 45 minutes to put on the new set. I was surprised she could do it that fast. Two weeks later I went in for a fill and she told me that my eyelashes grow so fast that she has to redo my lashes and put on another full set at $165. I just received a fill at a new place (for $55) and the aesthetician told me that she did not do a good job. She glued heavy three pronged lashes to each of my lashes so that she could cut corners and save time. I would also like to mention that she got glue in my eyes when she did my lashes. I do not think she is truly licensed and trained to do this very delicate procedure. Regarding her other services, she did a leg wax in 8 minutes. I thought it was awfully fast. I realized later she did not do the sides properly. One day when she was giving me a manicure, she left me to do an eyebrow wax for a walk in. She is very rough when she does a manicure or pedicure because she is trying to do it as quickly as possible to make room for another client. I am surprised she has any repeat clients at all the way she treats people. read more

I've gotten manicures for years to make my ridgy, flaky nails smooth and professional--not overdone. I've tried shellac, gel, acrylics, powder--you name it--and I've never really been satisfied with the results. After literally years of searching for a nail technician who could give me just a thin overlay of acrylic to strengthen and smooth my natural nails, I finally found Bella. She listened and gave me EXACTLY what I want--with skill. She gives me a thin, natural-looking overlay followed by gel polish that lasts for weeks. I've been away on vacation so my nails are really overdue for a fill, but I'm sharing pictures anyway to show how my nails look 4 weeks after my last manicure. I haven't touched them AT ALL. Worst nail salon I've ever been to in the entire northern Virginia. Been a nail fanatic for years and know how things are supposed to be done. First off I called and asked for the price of a full set of acrylics with gel nail polish and was told it's 45$ by the receptionist. When I came in I asked again just to confirm and again was told 45$. I started getting my nails done since 45$ with gel nail polish is the standard price I've seen all around nail salons in northern Virginia. During my experience my nail tech did not speak any English. The only person who spoke English was the owner there. I had to instruct the nail technician on how to make a coffin shape nail which is really standard. He did not know how to do it and it came to the point where I took the nail file and filed my own nails. After all this my nails were left looking extremely messy and unclean. I go up to the counter to pay and they tell me it's going to be 70$. I am so confused and ask the owner why that is and it must be a mistake. She keeps telling me that I was told the wrong price on the phone and adding on all these other random costs I was never asked about nor informed about. I told her that she should honor the price I was informed as a customer and she refused. THIS IS THE OWNER! That is not how you keep a business open and build clientele especially in such a competitive area! This place is ridiculous and a complete rip off. There are hundreds of salons in the area that offer better service and quality for the price. This place will rip you off! Never returning here and would not recommend to anyone I know. If I could give 0 stars I would! Extremely disappointed. Follow up- below is a picture of my nails 7 days after getting acrylics from here. ALL of them fell off. And as you can see the edges of my skin and cuticle is extremely messy due to my nail tech not cleaning it up right. My skin is peeling everywhere because he cut too much of my skin on the sides. Acrylics are supposed to last 2-3 weeks before needing a fill. All of mine fell off in 7 days and now I need to get a full set somewhere else. Waste of 65 dollars. I don't leave reviews ever but I am enraged. Went in to get my acrylics removed and Heather started ripping them off. No soak no gentle treatment. When I told her it hurt, she ignored me and kept saying it's just pressure. After forcefully removing the nails, she went in with the drill and drilled so hard she burnt through my fingernail. Again, I am screaming in pain but she ignored me. Rushed through the whole process of about 5 minutes and then had the audacity to charge me $15. $15 is reasonable IF you did a proper removal. Don't go here, they're not respectful of your money and nails. read more

Heather did a great job getting my brows back into shape. They were too thin and uneven. She helped me grow them out and reshape them beautifully. I'm so happy that she was able to help me instead of doing something more permanent microblading. read more

In love with how courteous they were! First they took me late on a Friday knowing I wouldn't be done before closing. They even told me NOT to come earlier bc there would be a wait. When I did wait 5-10 minutes with my feet soaking they still apologized for a wait & grabbed me a water (others had wine & champagne too!) I saw them scrubbing the pedicure tubs.. that always makes you feel better. I got the "basic" mani/pedi so nothing too fancy regarding the massage but my guy seemed to pay attention to what needed trimmed/scrubbed on my feet & nails & my polish looked good. This was an awesome surprise! I was so happy I decided to try this new place out with my friend. They have a wonderful little nail salon and the service is just incredible. We started off with pedicures in these great big massage chairs with all different types of settings and timers (but nothing too complicated). Mimi worked on my feet and did a great job shaping my nails and rubbing away the calluses. Then she did the paraffin wax in a unique way. She poured the wax into a little bag and then put my foot in the bag. That way I didn't have to stick my feet in to the communal foot pot (gross!) and it created a little steam/heat effect on my toesies (so nice). Another thing I absolutely loved about their pedicures is that they wear gloves! Hallelujah! Now, as a nurse many things don't gross me out, but I also know the importance of being safe and sanitary and I was just tickled pink that they put on gloves, to protect me from them and them from me, it was a nice touch. The awesomeness continued during the manicure, Mimi actually did my nails while I was still in the pedicure chair so I could stay and chat with my friend while she was getting her feet done. But Mimi never once made me cross my arms or turn into some awkward position, she told close and in front of me so I didn't have to be uncomfortable while she did my nails. This nail salon also gave me a little gift bag with a nail file and some lotion and glitter (not sure what to do with the glitter). They also have a little menu for wine and beer and I would have normally tried it but it was in the middle of the day and I didn't feel like starting happy hour that early. The best part was the price, they didn't over charge, I paid 49 dollars for a great pedicure and manicure and they were giving away 15% because they opened only a few weeks ago, sweet! I'll definitely be going back and may even treat my mom to a nice pampering gift. The only reason i gave four stars instead of five is because my friend who was with me didn't get her pedicure started until about twenty minutes after mine even though she had scheduled appointments for both of us for three. What a great place!! They have a check-in special for a free glass of wine, which I used. How awesome to enjoy a nice cold glass of Pinot Grigio while getting a mud wrap pedi. The space is clean and very well decorated. I love the color pallet they chose and all the baubles. Uber cute! And it smells so good in here! It was so relaxing and the leg massage was great. It costs $49 for the mud wrap which included a parafin treatment and a massage. I also got a lip & eyebrow wax. The person doing it was great. Not sure how much that costs yet (haven't paid yet. OK first, the place is *adorable*. I love the decorations, it's definitely a classy looking place. My pedicure also looks beautiful, but my experience was overall pretty miserable. Everything touts a "30-minute pedicure", which would've been perfect for my lunch break. So why did it take over an hour to do my feet THEN still sit and wait for them to dry? Then, the person doing my friend's toes was fairly rude. She got a gel pedicure and he kept telling her how to put her feet into the UV light using ridiculous hand gestures. I guess she nicked one of her toes and he gave her an "I told you so" face. The woman to my right seemed to be in excruciating pain due to some ingrown toenails and the technician didn't seem to be super careful as the woman kept telling her it hurt and that her toes were about to bleed. So stressful! Yeah my toes look cute, and the place was decorated nicely, but overall it was just a bad experience. There's no reason a standard pedicure should take an hour and 15 minutes (pre-drying time). read more

These owners have chosen window treatments that from the outside, do not represent the beauty that is within - the whole don't judge a book by it's cover - as I almost opted out of even going in, but this salon is decked out with marble floors, sparkling granite counters, and crystal & mirror galore. The nail bar is esthetically pleasing to the eye and the drink selections range from endless (courtesy) mini water bottles, to alcohol for purchase: Hard Mike's and other wine coolers, white or red wine selections around 5 per glass/bottle. The owners Anthony and Heather appear focused on customer service and strive to provide clients with a great experience, that will keep them coming back. I've been to this nail bar now many times this summer, after being referred by a friend. I've taken many friends and family members along, as we've enjoyed the services (and the drinks). I see Heather regularly for gel nails and pedicures and have "invested" in eyelash extensions that I am in LOVE with. I mistakenly ordered the "Mink Hair" lashes which are virtually weightless, over the faux lashes which are a great deal different in price, so I'm not sure that I will be able to keep up the maintenance outside of the holiday season. Either way, I wanted to write this review as I took a look at past reviews...which were sometime ago and do not represent what I've recently witnessed & experienced. Anytime I'm there, I'm in company with several repeat clients who like me, appear happy to return. I took away 1 star mostly because I, like many other clients are annoyed when English is not spoken consistently... especially when It's apparent that they are discussing my services and/or cost of services AND because I've only been approx. 10 times. AWFUL! First of all, very beautiful concept.. gives off a relaxing feel and is very clean. Lots to offer in the beverage aspect, but by god do not say no. They won't stop asking. I have gel tip manicure. Have had it for over 2 years. The last lady I went to was outstanding and I switched to this place hoping since it was closer it would provide great service for what I needed. WRONG My nails won't stop breaking, I had them fixed twice in less than 4 days time. And now they are broken again 1 week later.. (mind you they should last about 3 weeks until a fill without breaking) When I had them fixed I did not have to pay for the fix but I had to pay for the gel nail polish and the design which came out to be close to $30. I SHOULD HAVE NOT HAD TO PAY. If they had done it right the first time I paid for the gel tips, gel nail polish, and design... I wouldn't of had to pay for it again and again. And mind you, this is the owner who did my nails and charged me. If that doesn't speak volumes in itself I don't know what does. And now more about the owner, she trash talks her employees to customers. She did it countless times. The last time she was bickering with an employee in her language and after they were done she leaned over and told me what about. RUDE! And the first time I sat down with her she told me how she wants her employees to speak in english to each other when there are customers present so that the customer doesn't feel uncomfortable. I totally agreed with that! But two second after she told me that she went on to talk in her language to other employees for 30 minutes. I think this place looks great on the outside but the inside has too many down falls that I am willing to deal with at my expense. I will not be returning to get my nails fixed AGAIN.. More like 3.5 stars. I go to nail salons all the time and while this isn't the best I've been to (OMG nails in fairfax), it certainly isn't the worst. Overall it's very clean and has an excellent selection of polish, particularly gel and shellac. Since part of my service was a gel manicure I liked their color selection. The layout of the salon is also really cool with the big manicure bar. Very nice. As for the actual services themselves I'd say average to good quality. My pedicure was pretty good, nothing to write home about, and my gel manicure was average. My nail technician was somewhat sloppy when doing my cuticles (as in she hardly did them at all lol). She also didn't paint all the way to my cuticles. It would still be a 4 star review at this point but the woman doing my nails aggressively pushed an eyebrow wax stating that I needed it. This was strange to me since I just did them myself the night before and they actually looked pretty good. But I decided to let her 'fix them', so we go back there and I come out with basically the exact same eyebrows but much thinner. I don't necessarily mind them but it really wasn't a service I needed. I would have preferred she say something along the lines of 'next time I can do your eyebrows so I can shape them better.' The real kicker was when I was in the wax room (also very clean by the way) she asked if I wanted my lip waxed. In all my life I have never once been asked this, and while it didn't offend me, I was annoyed because I DON'T have any hair there to wax. I've been getting mani's, pedi's, and waxes every few weeks for the past 10 years never has anyone ever even hinted that I should consider a lip wax. I am a fair skinned blonde without any visible hair! This to me just seemed like an aggressive push to get more money and I didn't care for that. Overall a decent nail salon.
