I ignored the bad reviews and went here because its close to where I stay when Im in town and my SIL told me they provide Hybrid Gel services which is what I swear by but is still nowhere near as common as acrylic/builder gel. I believe they just did some rebranding from Nails Essence to Foxie Nails, and were also undergoing some renovations, the new interior looks really pretty and the staff was warm and welcoming. I'd cracked my acrylic toenail so I was there late in the evening but it wasnt a problem, they got me right in with Anna. My only "complaint" is they didnt have the polish color (DND DV093) I wanted but Anna found me a dupe and got me together (Deluxe Pedicure - Green Tea), I had such a nice experience I decided I'd come back to get my hybrid gel set the next day, again its a technique not everyone knows how to do and some do it better than others since its not that common and I am deeper in the niche as a long nail girly with this style so it can be laborious and not something every tech wants to do. I was in luck though, not only did my girl Anna know how to do it, but she was also available to book the next day to refresh my set (I've had them on 3+ months now, this is how much of a pain it is to get a new set bc of my desired length, but also testament to how durable hybrid gel is). I must say, she did an absolutely FABULOUS job. The thickness and shape were perfect and she just was really sweet the whole time. So glad I found my nail tech for when Im out of my hometown and need my specialty services! read more

I walked in with my mother for an afternoon gel mani (2:40pm). They took us immediately, which was nice, however, we both experienced rush service. Honestly, I felt like I was keeping the nail tech from something that was of much greater importance to him. Mom's tech told her she was scheduled to leave at 3 - we were finished paying and walked out the door at 3:10. My hands were not properly cared for - I still have extra dry skin all around that was not immediately noticeable since he slapped oil on literally as I finished washing my hands - I was still at the sink. There are chunks of polish under and around my nails, which the receptionist told me should just come off after washing my hands, and two nails have bubbles. Don't know if they are under new management or it was just a bad day, but it's probably our last time at Nail Essence. read more

This is probably the worst experience I have ever had at a nail shop. Three people had to help the person file my nail because the he didn't know what stiletto nails were and they didn't at least try to move me to someone who did know what they were doing. When I tell the owner that's this not acceptable and I would like at least some sort of discount, she's gives me a bullsh** excuse that "they are team" and they always do that. Then tried to blame me for not picking out the right nail tech even though this was my first time here. This will be my first and last time ever going to Nail Essences. Horrible.... Horrible..... Horrible! I will never ever set foot in or near this place EVER again. I went to this place w/my cousin last Monday (3/30/15) to get a full set and a pedicure for my wedding on Saturday (4/4/15). Not only did he cut all down in my cuticle bed of a couple of my nails causing me to bleed but.... Prior to leaving I discovered my thumb nail was already cracking. I told the woman who greeted us since the man working on my nails spoke NO English. She tried to assure me there was no crack. And she then applyed another layer of acrylic gel on top. On Friday (4/3/15) the crack reappeared. I prayed and tried to be delicate bc I had one more day until my wedding. Wedding day (4/4)..... I made it to the event without an issue. My nerves got the best of me and I had to potty. I go to lock the bathroom and I'd be damn if the corner of my nail didn't crack right off. I spent most of the ceremony trying to make sure no one saw it. Fast forward to today (4/10). I'm getting ready for work doing my hair when I feel my hair catch in my nail ouchhhhhh. I look and low and behold my damn nail on my middle finger lifted and strated cracking right at the French tip line. Not to mention that after further investigation several of my other nails r lifting on the sides. And the French tip on my toes had started to chip as well Wtf?!?!!!! I can't believe this piss poor job. You would think that I am hard on my hands the way these have fallen apart. Highly dissatisfied! My sister, mom and I have been coming to Nail Essence for about 3 years and we love it! There are a ton of nail salons within 10 miles, but we keep going back. The employees are very friendly, and know how to make my hands and toes look great! I recently moved from Pickerington to Grandview and still make the drive back when I need a mani/pedi! They keep the shop clean and fresh looking, making updates to decor and upgrading equipment frequently. Wouldn't go anywhere else! read more

I have tried almost all the nail salons in Pickerington and i always end up right back here. Tony is my nail guy 100%! I'm never letting someone get close to my nails again. He always does a phenomenal job . Anytime my picky and high maintenance self brings in a pic of design I want he does it even better than the pic itself and does with zero complaints. He's very social as well and it's not a sit down awkward social fest. I've been going to him for about 7 years now and that won't change. I originally shopped around after a few years of coming here because at the time (old owners) they were a little more pricey than other salons but at the end of it I've ended up back here every single time . Now with the new owners that came on a year ago or so, the prices seem lower than they were, and even if they weren't, I'd pay the little extra to have the service I want and need versus the dissatisfaction some where else.
