So it's been several years since I've been here, mostly because I moved down to Milford from White Lake so it's a pretty decent drive to get to this facility but my, oh my, how I missed everyone here! The friendly banter is so entertaining, it was like coming back home again. My sister was getting married last weekend so we came to get nails a mani, pedi, and gel. I absolutely missed everyone and I think I'm going to have to make this a regular visit again. My favorite nail tech is no longer there, so I saw David and he did a fine job. Admittedly, I was nervous because I've had such difficulty at all other places but here so I wasn't sure what to expect, but he did a nice job, especially since I had used Gorilla Glue on 3 of my broken nails to keep the length before my visit! Haha! He 'worked' with what I gave him and they turned out quite professional looking. I never have any problems with the quality of work here. As for any naysayer in these other comments, I don't know why their experiences were any less than perfection. I've been to this facility for a few years every so many weeks before my recent gap and ALWAYS had great visits. They're worth the drive for me. I have been going there for years when we are in Michigan for half of the year. Recently I made an appointment and got a call back telling me I was a "no show" this past October and I owed them money for that visit. I told them I had no memory of that, AND it was also nine months ago! Told them I would go somewhere else. How could they treat a long-time customer that way?! Basically, it was my word against theirs and it was a one-time thing (even though I dont believe it ever even happened that time). I've always been a good client, always tipped well, etc. The man on the other end of the line said, "We don't need your business anyway!" And then he hung up. Horrible way to treat anyone! There are plenty of nail salons all around. This one was just a convenient location. I guess I'll look for another. How unprofessional of them. The entire staff is friendly, courteous, knowledgeable, and speak English. I've been going there for a few years and Qua is my regular nail salon expert.. Always excellent service and you need to make your appointments a few weeks ahead of time because their schedules are so busy. I wouldn't change salons even though there are plenty around to choose from. I stopped by this nail salon while visiting and received a great gel manicure and pedicure. Hue was very thorough with both services. I recommend making an appointment as it seems to be very busy with regular clients. I called in the morning to make a same day appointment at noon, but if I hadn't then I'm sure there wouldn't have been an opening. If you're looking for a quick mani/pedi then this isn't the place for you. I'm used to having someone do my mani while I'm getting my pedi, but this doesn't seem to be their system here. I made an appointment at this salon on a weekday after work. They were very busy. I was getting a fill-in (on a full set that I had done somewhere else) and a pedicure. When I arrived someone started doing my nails (removed polish and used the tool to file down my nails). He was not the man that ended up doing my nails. I guess his role was to just speed things up and get people ready for the person that was going to actually do the nails? The man that did my nails didn't seem incredibly experienced. He took a very long time with everything (appreciated with the pedicure- it felt great!) but not-so-great with the fill in (I was there until well after closing time). The atmosphere was not what I would prefer- very loud. I like to relax while I have my nails done and I did not find it relaxing. There were many "regulars" in the salon that the employees were joking loudly with. This is preferred by some people but I am not one of them. read more

Nice people but terrible job. Asked for a refund and they don't do them. Now I have to go back and hope they will re do the entire thing because there is no saving how trash these things are. Will go back because I don't want to waste $40, but would not recommend and will not return after they hopefully fix them. read more

When you walk in you feel like family. This nail salon is always very busy and has repeat clients that have been coming for years. It is recommended that you have an appointment, and why wouldn't you?? They do take walk-in clients IF they have availability but because they mainly work on appointments their free time is limited. Yelp added that they take walk-ins and to get it down they would need to pay yelp. Not necessary, make an appointment! This is a good , honest family that cares about quality and commitment to their customers. They contribute very graciously to this community and I always enjoy my visit. read more

My daughter and I had been going there for many years. Once a month for pedicures. My daughter had to cancel morning of appointment because of teacher conference at her sons school. Call was done first thing in the morning giving plenty of time to fill appointment. When I got there for my appointment, the owner asked me where my daughter was. I said she called you. Response was "not 24 hr notice". Mind you we've been going there once a month for many years. She continued to harass me in front of full salon. The tech taking care of me told her to stop but she continued. While there, another client came in and her friend also canceled that day. She never said a word to her. When I was done, I paid for my service AND my daughters. Do NOT recommend this salon because of the rude owner. And yes she does talk about clients after they leave. Clarkston- beware!!! read more

Quality of services provided were good, however, environment leaves much to be desired. Staff, owner in particular, continually bad-mouths and complains about clients in front of other clients. Scheduling of appointments is inflexible and discriminatory. Should a client fall out of favor by, for example, rescheduling an appointment, they will be "completely booked" and unable to schedule you. I mentioned that I was uncomfortable with the complaints about clients by staff, and have since "fallen out of favor". In the 10 months I was a client, with appointments every 2-3 weeks, I rescheduled only 3 times due to work-related conflicts, was on time for appointments, attempted to have cordial conversations with staff, and tipped 20% or more. The one time I had to cancel an hour before my appointment, which was due circumstances beyond my control, I was lectured by my manicurist about how much I had inconvenienced her at my next appointment. Also, current licenses could not be verified through the State of Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs. I have since found another manicurist at another nearby establishment where the atmosphere is warm and inviting, and I am treated with respect. read more

I just took my client to this salon who is physically handicapped and the stylists there were hard working, caring, courteous, and funny! They did a first rate job and gave her special attention and dignity which was so very appreciated. We had so much fun and received a great manicure/pedicure. Bitch on Main!! Left the salon after 4 years of service from mostly Hue - who is excellent:) After 2 severe insults by sister Trang - that I stink and have bad nails and steals towels from the place. The seem like owner, is an insulting witch. She is always talking about bad clients but I stayed because of Hue. This was the last straw when I was insulted by the witch one last time. Today is 6/28/2018, the week before July 4th... I phoned them on Monday late afternoon/evening to attempt to get onto the schedule after in depth research of all the local nail salons reviews. I have been placed in a situation of needing to find a new nail salon. (My last nail salon that I have been seeing for two years started going downhill very fast. The last time that I went in, they caused an infection on my right thumb, above my left eyebrow from their wax and took a very large chunk of my skin out of my left heel when doing my pedicure. It took over two and a half weeks for me to heal.) I explained all of this to the very nice young lady scheduling appointments over the phone. She went out of her way to be certain that she could fit my daughter and me into the schedule. She made a note that I would be getting an acrylic fill with gel and a pedicure and my daughter would be getting a pedicure. The entire time that we were in, the entire staff interacted with both of us like we have always been going there. They welcomed us into their conversations, joked around with us and we felt completely comfortable. Our nail techs were very careful with us, neither of us were hurt, neither of us were injured. Our nails look perfect. I use mood changing gel nail color. I requested if I would be allowed to bring this in so that I could use this on my nails and toes and this was acceptable. I messed up and was not clear when making the appointment that I have gel on my toes as well as my hands. They were very understanding and stayed after just for us. We have already made our next appointment. I can guarantee that we have found our new salon home. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. If you are trying to find a new salon home, look no further. I have lived in the Oxford area for over 16 years and used almost ever salon in the area. This is the best. read more

I'm visiting my family from out of town. My mom and I were going to get our nails done here together, however, on the phone the woman booking the appointment said they only had availability for one, so we booked a mani/pedi for me. Arriving on time, the workers greet us as two manicure appointments. They keep insisting that this is what we booked, although I heard the entire phone conversation and know that we were told only one person could make an appointment and the appointment would be for a mani/pedi. In the end, their insistence that we were wrong (which amounted to calling us liars) was so insulting that I said okay, then we can just go, at which point one of the woman said something to the effect of, "Go ahead and leave, with that attitude." The attitude of foolishly expecting that you can make an appointment and then actually have that appointment? And, because I'm just visiting, I have a very limited amount of time and chose to structure the morning around this appointment, so now a significant amount of time in my day has been wasted and effectively my day is ruined. I accidentally wrote down that my appointment was for ten. I'm a frazzled bride the day before her wedding. I was on my way there at 945. They call me and tell me my appointment was for 930. I said I could have sworn it was ten. They said no they do not make ten o'clock appointments but then say this puts them in a bind because they have a client coming in at ten. Wait. No ten appointments? They said I might have to wait a half hour. I apologized and said I'm on my way. They seemed very rude about it. I walk in and everyone turns and looks at me. they said "you must be Amber". I said yeah and she said "well I can get you started and see how much I can get done and then somebody else will have have to help you. Normally when you show up fifteen minutes late we cancel you because we are always booked solid and it throws off the whole day. But we are trying to squeeze you in" I said "I can go somewhere else if this is such a problem" and she said "maybe you should!" And I said "good I will" I get up to leave and she said "good! That will help me a lot!" Very, very snotty. I hate to admit it but I did say bitch on my way out the door. I was so extremely upset. The most rude encounter I've had at a business. I was referred to Nails on Main by a good friend. When I walked in they greeted me and asked me to pick out a color for my pedicure. I explained that I get an American Manicure with white tips and clear pink. They informed me that an American Manicure has beige tips not white. I said it does come in a white tip and that as a Nail Tech I had purchased the American Manicure product many times that way. They sarcastically replied, "Oh, a Nail Tech!" The nail tech that was caring for a client near our conversation said to her client, "Nail Techs are the worst!" Really, my first time there and I am treated like that. They embarrassed me in front of clients and other staff. I expressed to my tech that I did not appreciate the other gals comments. I said that there are many nail salons in the area and that I would not be returning. She informed me that they are always busy....good luck with that if this is how new clients are treated. The atmosphere in this nail salon is great. You feel like family when you are there. The workers are extremely friendly and very experienced. I've been to many nail salons and needless to say this one is by far the best nail salon I have come across. The prices are fair. The workers laugh and talk with their clients but they are also very professional. The salon is beyond clean and you can tell sanitation is one of their top priorities just by watching all the prepping they do with all their tools and nail stations. They have many different options when it comes to type of polish, color of polish and services. I know many people who do gel nails at other salons and ruin their nails from it but I've been doing gel with Hue for over 3 years now and my nails have yet to mess up due to the technique they use. Unfortunately the quality of the product is good however the issue is the owner has with service is oddly a bit "crazy". I have been going for over two years and frequently for both nails (gel and tips, $$$) and gel pedicures. I missed one appointment previously and today the second due to a family emergency with my mother. I received a very nasty voice mail from the owner ending with dont come back have a nice life. She had no idea why I was not there today nor does she care to. When I am there all she discusses with me is $ and how other clients don't tip or show up I guess I should of known from that. It's too bad because her quality of nail care is good, it's too bad she is such a hot head and not professional to understand life happens to others at times and it just may be more devastating to them then missing out on one clients appointment. In her favor it was for both a pedicure and gel set so I certainly would of apologized for not being able to contact them to cancel, unfortunately I was too preoccupied at Beaumont hospital with my mother.
