Again, kind of a no-frills type atmosphere. It is pleasant enough, as is the service. The hamburger steak is a great option to go with. You can't get much more down south comfort food than a good hamburger steak covered in gravy. Their version is a great rendition of this American classic culinary treat. Their onion rings are pretty stellar, as well. The service was good and it was an overall excellent experience. Overall, I am giving this establishment five stars. Wow, great food and great customer service was my experience at this awesome country restaurant way out in the middle of no where. I got their hamburger steak with gravy and onion rings along with a salad which is recommended by others here on Yelp. They were right. It was so delicious that I will have to come back for this. Now, this isn't my first time here. Other food items are good too such as their BBQ sandwiches. Their sweet tea is great too. Everything is great here. You can not go wrong here. Nice country restaurant way out in the middle of nowhere. One of the first things I noticed was that they have pitchers of sweet tea at every table. This is a a first for me as I have been to a lot of restaurants. This is a great idea. I don't know why other restaurants do the same. When you want a refill, you don't have to wait on your waitress to refill your sweet tea. They also have smaller pitchers of unsweetened tea available at your request. I got their hamburger steak with gravy and onions. It was delicious. I also got their onion rings and of course a sweet tea. Onion rings were the best. Their salad is self serve as you just grab a bowl at the salad bar and fix it the way you want. Oh yes, I will definitely come back. Great service and delicious food to be had here. If you are driving by on Highway 82 don't miss stopping by here. They have a big dining room with lots of tables and booths. This looks like a popular restaurant among the locals here. I couldn't hardly find a parking place alongside the building. I had to park across the drive way. I called ahead and placed an order for 2 bar b q sandwiches with slaw. It was delicious. Next time I will dine inside because there is a lot more to be known here. I found this place interesting and will have to come back soon to study what this place is all about. You can also find bottled drinks in here at the back of the restaurant in several refrigerators. Location: this restaurant is located about half way between Winona and Starkville right off the highway. The people that run this place, and work here are friendly and give great customer service. It seems like a good ole country folk type atmosphere as soon as you walk through the restaurant. I will be back to check this place out more when I have time. read more

We were a little late for lunch and I was disappointed because the plate lunch sounded yummy. Wound up ordering a cheeseburger and fries and boy were they good! Ok I first went to this gas station/convince store/restaurant many months ago with my brother. He had been talking about how good the food was. Yeah right a gas station with good food. What does it have gourmet chicken salad sandwiches wrapped in glad wrap really pretty. I WAS BLOWN AWAY. The stakes are fantastic. They only have ribeye with three sizes, small, medium, and large. The small is right for the normal eaters. The medium is for the hungry. The large, well, is for the real men. Even the grilled cheese sandwich is great. The steaks are only Friday and Saturday night beginning at 4pm. bonus---if they have any left over steaks not sold by saturday night, the ribeye sandwiches are just what the name stats. I have learned they are open Monday-Saturday and serve breakfast, lunch, and supper. If you travel hwy 82 between Winona and Starkville you owe it to yourself to stop. read more

In mid-November I had me a hankering for some good barbecue and stopped by Nail's. I have very high standards for barbecue. When I pulled over at Nail's, I just knew it would be good. Sure enough, it was. Actually, it wasn't good. It was terrific, superb, outstanding, fabulous! I love a place like this. Excellent food, genuine Southern charm, efficient service and excellent prices. I wish I didn't live so far away, otherwise I'd be here frequently. It's wonderful when people take pride in making top quality barbecue like they do at Nail's. Nail's is not only worth going back to, it is worth going way out of one's way to visit. Not quite what I was expecting but it was very good. The sign on the outside advertise this as a BBQ joint but the menu does not reflect this. We asked if they had a BBQ plate and they did. It was great. The atmosphere is fun and funky, service prompt and prices are good. If you find yourself on Highway 82 looking for a place to grab a bit to eat you might want to check them out. This is a nice little country café that looks more like a truckstop from the road. If you pass it up based on its external appearance then you are missing a great experience. Be sure to have the large ribeye. They cook it extremely well. It is delicious. Don't forget to ask for some ice cream before you leave.
