Used to come here, a few years ago, so Decided to try them again today. Arrived at 11:45am, walked out at 2pm. For a shellac and pedicure. Shellac was $35.00(most I have ever paid) and it was the worst shellac manicure I have had. Left with the ends of my nails still not painted and polish left on my skin around my fingers. I certainly will not be going back. Save your $35.00 on a shellac polish and go to some of the less expense places in Howell that do a better job. read more

I see most of the reviews are years old and I just wanted to jump on to give mine as a more recent customer. I see Lee on a regular basis for shellac mani and pedi's and she's awesome!! I'm always very happy when I leave and have recommended her to friends. Since covid I rely more on making an appointment as walk ins are a little harder to come by, but usually she can fit me in the same day I call. Tools are sanitized and bowls for pedis have disposable liners for each new customer. Give them a try!! read more

I had been here before and I remember being relatively impressed, so I gave it another try. I received the worst manicure I've literally ever gotten. First, it was the fastest I've ever received- I was in and out within 20 mins (including dry time), and she couldn't have done a worse polish job if she tried. They are reasonably priced compared to other places, so that's a positive, but considering the quality I suppose the pricing is a little on the high side. If I were you, I'd give any other nail salon in the area a try before this place. Just got a shellac mani this afternoon. I'll try to touch on the areas I usually see most commented on.... - they did an acetone soak to remove my previous shellac color, not the foil wraps - English wasn't very good, but there are other technicians who can help if your tech doesn't understand - pricing seemed a bit high....$25 for a shellac color change, $35 to get a shellac mani - not very clean; they used bowls for soaking, did not use a fresh Emory board for each customer, cuticle cutters (or any equipment that I saw) didn't come out of a sanitizer, etc. - the salon itself was a bit cluttered and dated, could use a good overall scrub - had a decent selection of shellac colors -- it should be noted that it is not all shellac, but also some off-brands (gellish, etc.) - even got a bottle of water when they started! All that being said, they were quick and did a great job, I would have preferred to give 3.5 stars but rounded up since the mani was very good. Will only update if the polish chips or anything before it should. read more

Dirty, maybe 20 colors to choose from, and the pedicure was terrible. Like warm water and the woman working on me turned her body to watch tv instead of paying attention to what she was doing. The polish was already chipped when I left, didn't care just wanted to get out. read more

This place is just awful. I called ahead of time and told them I needed a fill and was told I would wait no longer than 10 minutes. An hour and 45 minutes later, no one had even acknowledged me. I just sat there for a solid HOUR without any service after I was told multiple times that I would be helped and sat at a booth for an ENTIRE hour.... like i understand if there's gunna be a wait that is fine, but at least TELL ME "hey it'll be an hour long wait!" And I can go do other things for that hour and than come back, don't make customers sit there to waste an entire hour of their day!!!? How rude! Also very limited color selection.. there are barely any colors and half the time if you pick one you like they're out of it. I WAS a regular at this nail salon and have gotten my nails done here almost the entire year and have also brought friends to get their nails done. After giving them all my business I would not expect to be treated so poorly in their establishment. I WILL be taking my money ELSEWHERE, and will permanently no longer be a paying patron here at Nail Studio! read more

This place is so dirty!! Splatters of who knows what all over the floor, Old nail shavings on the manicure tables, dust everywhere. Yuk! And on top of that, it took an hour for a nail tech to come do our nails after they told us it would be a 25-30 min wait. My nails look nice, so that's good. But I won't go back. read more

Fabulous place! I've been going here for over 2 years and have never had a bad experience. Very polite and friendly staff. My manicures and pedicures are always great and last forever. Good selection of regular polish but they really specialize in shellac and for good reason. Tons of shellac colors to choose from and their designs are great. They can do whatever you ask for! I have tried some other places in the area but I won't go anywhere else. Always a great time! read more

I myself did not have a pleasant experience others seem to have had here. I recently moved to Howell and was looking for a nail salon. Based on the reviews, I was truly expecting something between good to great. Wishful thinking. High hopes. I walked out feeling like I wasted a chunk of money on really POOR quality work. I felt like I was in an assembly line. 15 minutes on gels, 15 minutes on pedicure, NEXT!!! I did NOT have the delightful experience others have spoke of, and I am disappointed. This nail "studio" needed to be cleaned, staff taught etiquette, and understand that quality time spent on just one customer will go much further than giving crap quality to one customer who will never bring her money back here, or her many friends who too are looking for quality nail salons. If I wanted to be treated like cattle, I'd go to a factory farm. The search continues... read more

I came in for a shellac manicure and it was horrible service! The tech spent more time talking to the tech next to her then she spent doing my nails. She would stop and look to her right and talk in Vietnamese for minutes at a time while I was just sitting there. I don't mind talking while getting my nails done but has she ever heard of multi tasking? And not only that but she didn't go all the way to the edge of my nail bed so they began peeling 1 day later. This was overpriced as well! $35 for shellac manicure is high for this area. I would recommend going to JL nails in the outlet mall. They are friendly, clean, do good work and are only $25. read more

I enjoyed getting my pedicure here today! The guy did a great job. I got Shellac done, because I find it lasts longer on my toes and I don't need to get them done every 2 weeks! This was the second time I came here, the last time was in 2012 or something like that for a mani. My favorite is the hot stone massage and hot towels! Paint looks great. I used to love this place but the service has gone down hill lately. Last time the employee spend more time chatting to the employee next to her and on her phone than on my nails, then they didn't want to take my credit card said they "preferred cash". Had appointment with two other people. They got pedicures and I got fill in. It took about 10 minutes for the pedicures to start and almost an hour for my fill. Why even make an appointment if it is going to take the same amount of time to wait? My coffin shaped nails are more like ovals. I picked a dark burgundy color. He painted one nail, added a purple to it because I'm assuming it was empty and then he took the color off my pinky and painted all my nails with this new purple color. I didn't know I was going to be forced to have purple....if I knew I wouldn't have wasted my time looking for a color in the first place. After all of this he set me up at the dryer then asked me to pay. Ummmmmm....I have wet nails!!! Needless to say they got nicked in the process of getting my money out. I will not be coming back and I don't recommend this place. Can't wait for 3 weeks to be up so I can get my nails fixed. read more

Terrible service. Surprisingly, I got right in, however the service was so incredibly slow it was ridiculous. The man working on my nails was so busy directing, barking out orders, and eavesdropping on conversations that it took him almost TWO hours to do my manicure. Then, he charged me almost double what it would cost in Lansing! I mean, come on...this is Howell. NO REASON for the jacked up prices! There was really no customer service and it was obvious he wasn't confident in this line of work because after I got into the car, there were noticeable flaws where the nails weren't buffed as they should have been. Probably because he wasn't actually watching as he filed, clipped, and/or buffed. The place is rather dirty too. The only redeeming quality was the massage chairs at the pedicure stations. So disappointed. Will definitely have to find a new salon to go to...or head back to Lansing. read more

While my friend had an ok experience, my nail tech seemed to be in a hurry, she barely spoke to me and my pedicure seemed to be finished before I even had a chance to relax. I believe I acquired an infection from this salon. I got a polish change on a Saturday (I had a torn cuticle during this time) and by Monday I had 2 spots on my thumb that looked weird. 2 visits to urgent care and a visit to the ED, twice I had to have spots lanced/drained. Now they are being cultured but initial diagnosis is a very contagious infection that I will now always have in my system. Both treaters said this was likely acquired by the nail salon. I have been going to this nail salon for several months. I use to just get manicures. Then I tried the shellac and loved it. Tony does an amazing job with shellac. This weekend I allowed him to talk me into UV jell nails, big mistake, they were beautiful, they also hurt like the devil. He was very heavy handed with the drill. As I have never had more then a shellac done to my nails. I looked it up on the internet and found out they are actually acrylic nails... which I never wanted. This is a huge disappointment as I asked if this would damage my nail and he told me no. Everyone know this is not true for acrylic nails. Originally I had nice thick beautiful nails. Now I have damaged unsightly nails. I will never return to Nails Studio in Howell MI. If you go here... just know exactly what you are getting before they start. Good luck! read more

i was getting a full set of acrylics and they ended up at all different lengths. also,they cut me twice and they didn't do anything about it. i still had to pay full price and the experience was horrible. all of this happened after waiting over an hour. read more
