"Nails I DON'T love". Prior to coming to this nail salon, after reading all of the Yelp reviews, I had high expectations. But now, I'm disappointed with my experience here today. First of all, customer service. There was something about the customers that came in today & the staff did not handle the situations well. Let's just say... The girls that were in the salon with me were "dramatic & demanding". - I came in on a Wednesday afternoon and not even 5 minutes of staying here, a customer was raising her voice because as she was putting her feet in the tub for her pedicure, part of her phone charger accidentally went in the water & she immediately blamed it on a staff member and demanded to do something about it. The staff tried calming her down but failed to fix the situation.. Long story short. This situation was already not inviting for me as my first time here at the nail salon. - I was already waiting 20 minutes to get seen and another customer shows up. A staff member calls me over to get seated prepping for my mani&pedi and this customer walks over to the staff & says, "did that girl (referring to me) have an appointment? I have an appointment so it should be my turn first". First of all, how rude of her to address her concerns like that and second, the staff failed again to handle the situation in the best way possible and decided to kicked me out of the seat, and let this customer get seen first, although I've been waiting for a while now. No reassurance from the staff at all. - Eventually the staff saw me upset and finally they let me sit in the seat and soak my feet in. Unfortunately, I waited another 25 minutes as my feet are soaking in the water pruning up. I probably waited 45 minutes total. For the actual mani & pedi: - the lady that did my pedicure was sweet and did a good job with my nails. However, as she was scrubbing my calluses, the scrubber block scraped a part of my left foot and now I have multiple baby cut marks on my sole. - the lady that did my manicure seemed like she hated her job. She didn't talk to me at all besides asking me if I wanted gel nail polish. As she was massaging my hands and arms, I realized I forgot that I'm wearing my engagement ring on, but the lady kept massaging me WITH my ring on, so now my ring was covered with lotion and she did not say a word to me. It was already too late for me to say anything. She did a crappy job with my fingernails. It was totally rushed. I told her to put a different color on my ring fingers but she didn't listen, but whatever, I was already over it. The application of the nail polish was sloppy and was still on my cuticles. Didn't bother to clean it up. & on top of all this, as I was done with everything, the staff was cleaning up but I felt rushed to leave.. Therefore I didn't have enough time to let my nails dry. Guess what, as I was paying & taking out my wallet, my nails on my right hand got ruined. Upset and I was totally over with this place. FYI, I noticed the nail tools the staff uses are NOT fresh from packaging!!!! Yeah I see the sterilization machine and they get the tools out from there, but most (good) nail salon places have to open their tools straight from the packages and so it would be a one time customer use only. But I didn't see that happening here. They probably have used those tools multiple times and they just stick them in to sterilize. Summing it all up, I'm not blaming the actual customers or environment from the nail salon. My review is more heavily towards the quality of the work and service. If I knew about this type of service and quality, I wouldn't have gone here & I would've just done my nails myself at home. & by the way, when I got home from the nail salon, I noticed my left foot (from the cuts) is starting to swell up. This better not be an infection :( read more

Luckily I had dedicated the day to pampering so I wasn't upset but after that lengthy wait I then had to suffer through the awful attitude of my nail tech(Believe her name is Joyce. The younger, hip looking tech). Her earlier client had to call her out on her rude behavior during her service but I thought my pleasant disposition could make things better during my time. She was short, crass, and completely unprofessional during my service. I won't be returning. If you're not concerned with customer service and can deal with negativity during what should be a time for relaxation then this will work for you. I prefer my pampering to be stress and drama free. And they don't honor their Yelp check in deals! 10% off during the month of February with Yelp check in was advertised. I checked in - - they checked out. Came here with my friend and her daughter for pedicures and gel manicures right after opening. I did not have a good experience. My pedicure was ok but I wasn't offered drinks like all the other yelpers. My gel manicure on the other hand was awful. Lina seemed rushed and annoyed the whole time. She knocked my friends stuff on the floor as she walked up and then knocked the water bowl and my phone on the floor and didn't apologize. I then showed her a picture of different colored nails I wanted which annoyed her and just gave me all the swatches to find them my self. My nails came out good but only because my friend helped me instead of Lina. Sorry AP Nails, I'm a traitor. Nails U Love has officially won my heart over! Today in the midst of lunch, I glanced at my full set and realized I was in dire need of a fill. My nail beds had grown out, my acrylics were lifting like crazy, and my cuticles were lookin' shaggier than ever. Unfortunately, AP Nails, which used to be my absolute go-to, is apparently closed on Sundays now, so I did a quick search on Yelp, found this place to be extremely close to the boyfriend's apartment, and hit them up. Walked in, wrote my name and required services down on their clipboard form, and was promptly seated and assisted by someone. Nancy (whom many of the reviews here on Yelp rave about) turned out my nail tech, luckily, and she couldn't have done a more perfect job. She was super fast at filing and sculpting, never nicked my cuticles once, and was very focused on my nails instead of getting distracted and going off to talk to other clients like some nail techs are prone to do. I also asked her to reshape my coffins back to my preferred stilettos, and she nailed the shape (I'm very picky about the shape of my nails)! Application of my gel polish was also quick and flawless, and she applied a generous amount of cuticle oil on my hands for me. Overall, I'm a happy camper! Prices here are really reasonable. For a fill with gel polish and reshaping, my total came out to be $27 but with a Yelp check in, it was discounted to $24. For fleeky nails at affordable prices, you can't find a place better than this. This will be my new regular nail spot in LB from now on for sure! read more

A friend recommended this place to me. So I decided to go here for my mom's birthday and totally forgot to write a review. So here it is! The parking can get packed if it's busy but we managed to get one! Located right in the middle of the complex. Upon entering, the store was very clean and organized. They have their list of services listed so there was no hidden surprises. I'm not really familiar with the prices so I can't say much about that. Honestly, I didn't really care for spending money on these things but my mom definitely deserved some relaxing. Service was really good from what I experienced and my mom actually enjoyed hers as well. She's usually picky so it means a lot when my mom complimented their service. After being a regular customer I decided this PEOPLE not the business are not worth my hard earned money! Went in on the 9/6 for a regular nail polish pedicure. I do both regular and gel nail polish. Two days after, the nail polish came off two nails! The following day my entire right foot nail polish came off, as if they had put on stickers instead of nail polish! I went in on the 9/10 for a fixed up. Boss allowed me to get my nails painted again. While I was there, these "nail technicians" were looking at me while laughing and talking in their native language, clearly they were very upset over their bad service. Even the Michael Jackson young nail woman technician blamed me for something I was not responsible for. I felt emotionally abuse by these employees, very unprofessional! read more

Was doing more yelp searches of nail salons in Long Beach and came across this new salon. My first visit was 09/13/15. I called and was told there was no wait and just 9 minutes from where I live. I was greeted by the receptionist Ivy who then serviced me. I was offered a glass of wine while my feet was being done. I stopped in here in between my work appointments and was helped by wendy, I came in for a new set of acrylics but I had cut my old nails down so when wendy tried removing them it literally was such a battle! But she was diligent and careful not to hurt me! Finally she got them off and got on the new set. She carefully worked the acrylic so that it was smooth and thin how I like it. I wish I could give it no stars. This place is very disorganized and very very very unsanitary. We waited for about 35 minutes until we got helped and management was asking who had gotten there first even though we wrote our names down. They don't sanitize any of their products or their foot bowl. I went in for a pedi and realized that they didn't use anything for the foot bowl and their was skin left inside the bowl still, at this point I wanted to leave but my girlfriend and I both went in and I didn't want to make a big fuss out of it. So I continued on and got my pedi done. My girlfriend felt super rushed and she paid for Deluxe Spa Pedicure which is 25 dollars and the technician took about 12 minutes in total to do everything for her. I asked my technician to cut my side skin but she ended up cutting more skin off than I needed to. Two days after I got my pedi done here I decided to go to my usual spot to make sure my toe was okay. Since it was irritated and red. Turns out I had an ingrown. Overall I will never come here again. I was due for a fill but the nail shop that I usually visit is all the way in Torrance. So, what's a girl to do at 7am when she can't sleep? Oh you know, just read reviews on Yelp. After going through countless nail shops in the Long Beach area, I decided to try this place out! My experience in a nut shell: - Nail shop didn't open at the time it says it usually does. - I wish I would have secured appointment beforehand since tons of people (the regulars) had already appointments booked in advance and also kept calling in for same day appointments. - After about 30 minutes of waiting, I was seated by Nancy who was in a rush due to other appointments. She was kind enough to ask me if that was my first time and made me feel welcomed. Sadly, the removal of my prior gel was poor (rushed and incomplete), I chose Gel and although it wasn't the worst paint job I've ever gotten, it wasn't the best either. You can sort of tell there's edges missing polish (one of my biggest pet peeves). All in all, the drive was not worth it! The entire time I felt like my nail session was being rushed along with poor nail color application. It's honestly disappointing because the one good thing about this nail shop is the variety in gel colors! They have tons to choose from. Let me say that this place is nothing short of amazing. I called and was able to be seen in less than 10 minutes and I had Ivy as my nail tech. I was so ecstatic that she was available because looking at pictures that other people have posted she does an amazing job. She's quick detailed and her work is neat and to the point. She's very friendly and her daughter Sophia is more than entertaining as she sings and dances for you while you wait. Cassie is by far the best nail tech I've came across, I love having acrylic nails on a regular basis and had always struggle to find a good/dope nail tech. Cassie always hooks my nails up and is up to date on new nail trends not only that but she does such an amazing job with application I've never had a nail break or lift with her. I've also had pedi did with other nail techs unfortunately I do not recall their names but they have also left me satisfied with my pedi. I've been coming here for about a year, I won't go anywhere else! Not every nail salon has the vast array of glitter and sparkles to choose from and at an affordable price. I go see Ivy every other week and her work is consistent and detailed. She takes her time in shaping my nails so they aren't crooked. I work with my hands and they are sometimes soaked from dish water and the gel still lasts great through the 2 weeks. They have a large selection of gel colors to choose from, sometimes it's overwhelming. But a great gem of a shop!! read more
