I had a very uncomfortable experience at this pharmacy regarding "patient privacy". When I went to ask if my medication was ready, the pharmacy tech, Jose M (Filipino, bald ) asked for my date of birth. Out of concern for privacy, I handed him my driver's license instead. Despite that, he proceeded to say my full name and date of birth out loud while confirming information with the insurance. I understand verification is necessary, but sensitive personal information should be handled more discreetly and professionally in a public setting. I just am completely frustrated with the way they handled my medication, I recently switched from cvs to here and one of my medications got lost so my doctor sent a new prescription and yes it's a controlled substance but I guess I need a prior authorization or an authorization for emergency refill. Older asian man pharmacist is possibly the most rudest person I've ever came across, he told me he wasn't going to do anything for me and to go back to cvs but that's fine I will speak with another pharmacist who is competent and willing to help me, the Asian pharmacists name is Sang by the way, I will be reporting him for his attitude and aggressive treatment towards me. read more

This review is for Frankie at the pharmacy. Not only is his customer service 20/10, he went out of his way for me multiple times even though he was busy. He understood my frustration & even called the emergency room in front of me & asked if they could please e-send it over because the doctor didn't put my address on the prescription (which has been the new law) so you would think they would have done their job correctly. Worst customer service in the photo department. Worker took my daughter passport pictures and told us to come back in 30 mins since there were other orders prior. We decided to wait in the parking lot. 30 mins later I went inside to try and pick up her pictures and the worker goes sorry our machine couldn't print the pictures. Could've did a courtesy call to let us know the machine wasn't working instead of having us wait 30 mins and still no call. There's no excuse because the store wasn't busy and they had asked for our phone number so it's not like they didn't have it. If I could've have it a 0 star I would but I had to give it at least a 1 star. Definitely would not come back to this location. read more

I go to pick up my RX & at first she had an attitude about me & my full name, then they tell me "since you transferred the rx to this location from a CVS location your insurance already charged you for the CVS one(rx)!".. & I try to respect all hard workers but in my mind if this was transferred to Walgreens around 3pm why did it take until 7:45 pm to tell me this??!‍ I just noticed a bunch of ungrateful(to have a job) lazy pharmacist whom are mostly the younger generation that should've chose a different career path if they don't like what they are doing, this is NOT our(customers)fault!! Walgreens hasn't really kept up with the times. COVID testing and other services continue to lag behind other drug stores. This location, much like other Long Beach stores, is always out of something. I go for my prescriptions to get filled. I always need to pick up something else. Guess, they are temporarily out of it. Guess I need to make an extra trip somewhere. I do think the people in the pharmacy are really nice. They always take the extra time to make sure everyone leaves the pharmacy happy. read more

I love this Walgreens. The automatic refill system works and the staff here are awesome. They know my wife and I by name. Frankie is the best. He is always courteous and attentive. I highly recommend everyone drive to this location even if it is out of your way. I take customer service very serious. They help with finding best prices when insurance doesn't cover it all and helps with managing my many meds. Doctor ordered an inhaler for me as I had an asthma flare up and went to urgent care for it. It was supposed to be ready Monday luckily I had an extra inhaler. I called back on Wednesday to make sure it was ready and they told me it would be ready in an hour. I come 2 hours later and they tell me it's not ready because my insurance doesn't cover it? But they can switch to a different one but it was stuck? Now, admittedly, I don't know how the process works but, if you tell someone it'll be ready in an hour, it should be ready in an hour, or I should at least get a call back. I work in Duarte and live in Inglewood and the tech was telling me to come back in another hour?? Not everyone just has free time like that. The next day I call again to make sure my inhaler is ready and I double confirm because it's just such a hassle to be driving that far and the woman on the phone sounded annoyed that I wanted to make sure it was ready. It is not hard to answer someone nicely and with no attitude especially with the move they pulled the day prior. I get there and everything was all ready for me. I don't understand why this didn't happen the first time especially after telling me my medication was ready. Wouldn't the process have been the same if they could do it the day after? I don't understand why they wouldn't check if my insurance covered it especially after telling me it would be ready in an hour. I'd understand push back if I was complaining about sauce with a mcchicken but it's a breathing medication?? 0/10 customer service and really unorganized process. read more

I wish i can give this location zero stars. I placed an online ordered. Next day, I received a notification it was ready for pick up. I did not have a chance to pick up that day. The next day, I received a notification that my order was picked up! Clearly, it was not by me. So I called the store and spoke with the manager, Diana. Diana stated that the order was not picked up and she still has my online order but could not find it in the system. Well, clearly, it was marked as picked up and that's why I am calling you. Since, she had the bag in her hand, I asked her to return the order and refund me my Money. She said she will do that and I kindly thank her. Two days later, I reviewed my bank statement and I was charged for the item. Immediately, I notified my credit card and disputed this charge. Then, I called Walgreens customer service and I spoked with a young lady that said she will call the store and inquire about it. She came back on the phone and advise me that the manager stated that the package was indeed picked up but she would refund me the money back My question is still... who picked up my order ? I would never recommend this store. Someone really need to investigate this- marking someone order as sold is playing with someone's money. This is bad business practice and fraud. We should all be grateful they are here daily dealing with all of our demands and nasty attitudes, understaffed and for barely above minimum wage. With almost weekly robberies and assaults by members of the community they serve, we should be extremely thankful this store is one of the few remaining open. I asked him did I do something wrong or did I offend him in some way? He doesn't even acknowledge my question. But says give me your ID smh. After waiting for the meds he came back apologize that he was very overwhelmed and didn't know I was the same customer b4 me he had a line more then 10 people in the drive thru and more in store. Came back that same day I was told receiving the news that my photos were "'being processing ". I called everyday since being told the same exact thing. She said she didn't feel comfortable telling him and wouldn't say what it was. If you're going to be dealing with the public, you should really be friendly. So I called the store & the automated system informed me that the store does close for lunch from 1:30AM-2AM. So???? And to make it more irritating, there was an employee, literally STANDING right behind the door, working very hard at avoiding making eye contact with me or any of the other customers here who need this store to be open. This really sucks. Super disappointed. It's not like we were asking them not to take their breaks, but to just take their breaks at the advertised time. This really inconvenienced my whole evening. This pharmacy filled my prescription, and magically somehow even though I never picked it up, they said I couldnt fill it and my insurance pay for it because I had already gotten it and it was "too soon".... So... where did it go? Then, when i FINALLY get through to a pharmacist instead of the other RUDE and unhelpful workers who refused to help me or fix the issue let alone answer my questions as to what my insurance paid for if I never got the meds- they say theyll fill it- but now my only refill has been used. Once again, WHERE did the first one go that i NEVER picked up? This place probably needs to be investigated because somethings amiss in how they handle things. They kept refusing to answer my questions and wanting me to call insurance to ask them to pay for a new one. Instead, I think ill call my insurance and ask them to double check if this pharmacy charged them more than they should have for medications they never provided. read more

These guys are terrible, no way to sugar coat it. Stay away. I ordered an item ship to store. When I arrived at the photo area to pick up the item. They sent me to the cash registers. After waiting for my turn. They can't seem to find my order. After some investigation they send me back to the pick up area at the photo department where the two employees who sent me away proceed to explain to me that they separate orders by online pick up at store and online ship to store. Like it was my fault and somehow I should care how they do things at that store. ABSOLUTELY STUPID. A week later I go to drop off a Fed-ex package. Again they send me away without accepting my box because they don't have a piece of tape to close up the box. Lessen learned just go to the actual Fed-ex location near me. This is the story of an ignorant, negligent pharmacy. My 73 year old mother, as she does each month, called the pharmacy on October 11th for a refill. The automated system informed her it would be ready "tomorrow." Fast forward to Oct 16th, still nothing. She called Walgreens and they told her that her insurance would not cover the medicine until November 25th, which is BS because it clearly states on the bottle that a refill can be completed on or after October 10th. Why didn't they inform her of that earlier instead of telling her the refill would be ready "tomorrow?" She contacted her doctor to double check, and he said she was eligible to refill that prescription. So Walgreens made a mistake. That was just the beginning. October 18th: My mom called the pharmacy again to get to the bottom of the problem. They told her the insurance would only cover the refill if the doctor sent a note saying she was a patient of his. My mom called her doctor and the doctor said they would be happy to fill out a "form" and send it to Walgreens, but Walgreens has to send the doctor the form first. My mom then called Walgreens back (Can someone please explain why the elderly customer's have to do all the work? Do doctors and pharmacists not know how to talk to each other?) and asked them to fax the form to the doctor. "Sure...I'll do it right now" is what my mom was told by Walgreens pharmacy. October 19th: We still hadn't heard from the pharmacy, so my mom called the doctor to see if Walgreens had faxed anything. "Nothing yet!," the doctor said. So, my mom called Walgreens. "Oh...I'm so sorry Miss, we will send it over right away. Give us about an hour and we will have your refill ready!" is what she was told. Tick tock.....tick tock....Nothing. October 20th: See October 19th! October 21st: Once again, my mom called her doctor who informed her they still didn't have anything from Walgreens. It had now been 7 days since my mom had been off her medicine. She once again (getting very stressed) called Walgreens and asked if they had faxed the necessary form to her doctor. She confirmed all the fax numbers, phone numbers, prescription numbers, etc... Walgreens told her "Yes. We will fax it right this minute, in fact I am doing it right now." (Phew...finally). Just to double check, my mom called the doctor later that afternoon---guess what? NOTHING WAS SENT! October 22: Now, getting frustrated, my mom called Walgreens again and asked to speak to the person in charge at the pharmacy. She calmly explained the whole situation and was told they had the form right there, and would fax it immediately. She explained the potential consequences of not getting her prescription refilled before the weekend---that it was not good for her to be off her medication for this long. Walgreens insisted---promised---guaranteed they sent the form to her doctor. October 23: My mom woke up early to contact her doctor to make sure he filled out the form and sent it back to Walgreens. When she got a hold of the receptionist at the doc's office, what do you think she said? "We don't have any forms from Walgreens." She double and triple checked. So...my mom called Walgreens (again) and was told the following. "We don't have any forms like that to send to a doctor. NOTHING has been sent to that doctor. We need the form from Medicare!, but Medicare isn't there on a Saturday, so we have to wait until next week!" So, if you needed the form from Medicare, 1, why didn't you say that two weeks ago? and 2. why the "heck" did my mom just spend almost 2 weeks going back and forth between her doctor and a completely inept pharmacy who obviously has no clue how to care for their patients. Furthermore, if Walgreens needed the form from Medicare, it is THEIR responsibility to obtain that form as soon as possible. Instead of being responsible and caring about their customers, Walgreens pharmacy continuously gives people the "run around" and does not do their job. Would it really have been difficult to call Medicare to obtain a form 2 weeks ago? On top of all this, my mom is a heart patient....Now, I'm not a doctor, but do you think the stress is good for her heart? At best this pharmacy is ignorant, at worst they are negligent. Can you imagine the lawsuits they would face if something happens to my mom, or any customer before they gets their refill? I strongly suggest finding a new pharmacy if you belong to Walgreens in Lakewood. They lied to my mom for almost 2 weeks about faxing a form that apparently didn't exist. They have no ability to solve any problems and clearly don't give a damn about their customers. I will be reporting Walgreens Pharmacy to the "California State Pharmacy Board."....not because they made a simple mistake or miscommunicated once or twice, but because they lied and are endangering people's lives. EDIT: With respect to my COVID Test at this location on 8/6, I received a very confusing report from Labcorp: "Test(s) not performed. Testing of the specimen could not be completed due to a specimen identification problem. No patient identification on container. Test not performed" So yes, Walgreens, your associate royally screwed up. I had to pay COVID Clinic $150 for a test now today just so I can receive results tomorrow. **Original Review** I went here on 8/6 to take a second COVID test. My first test was 10 days earlier at a different location (Artesia, CA). For my first test, the person at the drive-thru window watched me and instructed me on how to do the test. With the test kit, I was handed information on how to retrieve my results. When I went to this particular location in Lakewood, there was some flaky young man at the drive-thru window. He couldn't even find my appointment information, so I gave him my printout of my confirmation. He then proceeded to hand me the test kit in a bag, nothing else, no paperwork with instructions on how to retrieve my results. Furthermore, he did ask me if I've done this before, to which I said yes. As I was opening the test kit, I was waiting for him to watch me, to ensure I was doing it correctly. He didn't bother, didn't seem like he even cared. I did the best I could, handed him back the test specimen, then asked how I will I know the results. He sounded very unsure of himself, but he told me I'll find out through E-mail. I was able to access my results on the Aegis website about 31 hours after the test. As of this post, it's been 36 hours since I took my second test, and I have not received any E-mail. I was counting on hearing back my results, as they are due to my employer on Monday, it's currently Sunday at 3:30 AM. I'm pretty sure the Walgreens employee mishandled my specimen, possibly even mixed it up with someone else's. I'm upset and now I'm screwed over, all thanks to someone that should probably lose their job. read more

The only bad thing is that they take forever to help me get something that is locked they can never find the person with the key. I press the assistance button but they take forever to come help.
