Jump on the wifi and send a few emails or indulge in a few youtube videos. This is a natural nail place and therefore don't offer gel etc. The eyebrow waxing was a mistake on my part, the good news is the woman just cleaned up my eyebrowns and I didn't leave looking crazy (that has happened to me before). This is the best nail salon I've been to and felt extremely comfortable here during Covid because of all the precautions they are taking, which include: -temperature checks for all guests upon arrival -hand washing for guests after check-in and during the service -all guests must wear masks -all staff wearing masks that cover their noses, gloves and many were wearing face shields also -only using every other manicure and pedicure station On top of all these precautions, my mani pedi looks awesome! read more

This has been my absolute favorite nail salon for years! I started going to the Logan circle location and was thrilled when one opened closer to home. I loved everything about this place pre-Covid and continue to love it. The nail work is amazing and I love that they use non-toxic nail products. I've been twice since they reopened and I feel very comfortable with their safety measures (I am pretty cautious). Clients have their temperature taken, wash their hands, wear masks and are spaced more than six feet apart. Employees wear masks, shields, and gloves. I recommend checking them out on a weeknight, especially, when traffic is low! read more

Lovely environment with natural products. I went in and looked at the board behind the counter and saw and Younglin Mani for $18. I asked for a mani /pedi. At the end of the treatment, I was charged $80 for my services. I was shocked and asked how much the manicure was and the staff member point to another mani on the board titled Saloon Mani for $36ish. I said well I had wanted the $18 one and the description seemed to match what I received. She responded and said that was a kids manicure. Surprised that a kids manicure is something that is listed at the very top of the board, or that's it's even so much of a thing that it needs to be advertised, but not nearly as surprised as when the woman insisted I should know that "Younglin" means kid. I have never heard that. "Youngin'" - ok, they say that in the South. "Youngling" is something they use in Star Wars and Olde English poetry but "Younglin"?! I can't even find it in the urban dictionary or anywhere else. But they had no problem charging me the "Saloon" price... as if that makes any sense to a new person. Additionally, they only paint your nails to 1/8" away from the cuticle, leaving a margin of exposed nailbed around the painted nail. Maybe this is a new trend? They insisted if I wanted my nail painted fully, I should have told them in advance. I insisted on redoing it (the first time in 20 years of manicures I have ever complained even once.) They were shocked and insisted that is how everyone does it. But it truly looked like it had already 3 days of grow out!! When they redid them, they did it the same way, insisting that was the way it was done. I confirmed again that I needed polish all the way to the end of the nail, the woman looked very unhappy and touched up the nail bed leaving a ripple of polish at the base of each nail. At this point I gave up. Shocked by the $80 at the end and their lack of concern that their advertising is inaccurate and fraudulent, they asked it I wanted to tip. Consistency is the key to my five star review for Nail Saloon. I've been here about 6 times over the last three years and am always happy with my nails. They take their time to massage your hands, and I never feel rushed out the door (like with so many nail salons). I never opt for any aesthetician in particular because they are all very good. You pay a few dollars more for the great service, but I've found that it's worth it. Other nail salons in the area smell and my nails never look as good. I'm sticking with Nail Saloon! read more

I had a great experience here! I'm not from the area so I took a chance on this place based on others' reviews, and I was very happy with the results. I went on a weekday after work and it was very relaxing and the nail technician was very thoughtful and made sure I was ok with whatever she was doing and would ask and confirm it was what I wanted. The pedicure was great, it includes a salt scrub, and my toe nails look well done. My commute puts some wear on my feet, and she made them look pretty again! Went in at noon on a Thursday as a walk in they had my chair ready before I was able to even pick out a color! Right after sitting down they promptly got me a complimentary drink and Sonny took care of my pedicure. She did a great job and ensured I was comfortable the entire time! Then received a gel mani that was also amazing! Prices are reasonable and the location is clean. I love that their products are not overly scented like most nail salons since I can get pretty sensitive to scents. Highly recommend. read more

In town from NY & met a local friend for a mani/pedi - we were both SO happy to find nailsaloon. #1 Everyone was friendly - from the woman who answered the phone when making the appointment to the technicians. Loved the straightforward menu and LOVED sipping on a complimentary glass of bubbly (or two!) during our services. Everything was impeccably clean and the technicians checked in about every part of the appointment (which was nice considering I bruised my foot up, so they were extra cautious to ensure nothing hurt). We had a fantastic experience at the nailsaloon! I think it's one of the best pedicures I've had. My husband and I went together with our baby - a little break as we had childcare for our two-year-old. My husband plays soccer for fun and was in desperate need of some work on his feet. The technician spent a lot of time on him and he was very happy with his experience. I found the salon extremely clean and comfortable. This place is all right. Expensive. And the concept to me is weird -- like why bother to go for 'saloon' except as some not-that-clever cleverness that they then don't follow through -- not that I especially WANT a cowboy theme in my nail parlor, but could you guys not think of a better name or something? As for what they do do -- I think the gray scrubs on all the technicians are an effort to look professional, but it just reminds me of hospital-acquired infections and MRSA. The service is a little chilly, but the manicures/pedicures are good and enduring, especially for not being gel. So it's okay. read more

They thanked me for my honest opinion, and graciously offered to schedule a complimentary saloon manicure to make up for my first experience (my manicure chipped 3 days after I got them done). I felt they went above and beyond to make things right, and to me excellent customer service makes all the difference. My experience the second time was just as relaxing and pampering as the first (hello free wine and jewelry cleaning!), and I felt the technician took her time making sure everything was perfect. What a great experience! I stopped by without an appointment on a busy Sunday, but they kindly fit me in shortly thereafter. My manicurist was wonderful- very thoughtful and detail-oriented and I really enjoyed talking with her. A few minutes into the appointment, I was given my complimentary latte, which was a real treat as it was not only delicious, but it was presented in a glass mug, with the almond milk layered with the espresso. An espresso cloud! A bonus - they also cleaned my rings. I really think it's the best manicure I've ever had. I've laid off of manicures in recent years because it got to be a hassle worrying about whether this this or that salon's instruments were clean, whether my polish would last more than a few days, and if a gel manicure - whether my nails would be damaged in the process. Although I wanted try this salon because of their reported emphasis on cleanliness, i was hesitant because of the price for a non-gel manicure and figured I could just keep doing my own nails. I've always loved this place for pedicures, and I'm so glad that they finally gave in to the reality that are gel manicures and added that service too. I imagine it was a pandemic-driven economic decision, but I'm glad I no longer have to go to one place for the pedi and another for the mani. Especially because nailsaloon always feels like an indulgence. They use great products, take their time with you, and the sugar scrub they use is amazing. It leaves my skin feeling so incredibly soft for the rest of the day. It's a little pricier than some places, but you can see they put the money into the decor and products, so it's worth it (for me, at least). read more

I was thrilled when walking through my neighborhood of Eastern Market a few months back when I saw a familiar logo... I could not wait for my favorite nail place to open a new location - and so close to me! I came in for a mani the second day they were open. As always the scheduling was fairly easy online, though it can be a bit confusing when you want to book appointments for more than one person. I think the website changed a bit. Anyway - the new location is so gorgeous in a wonderful spot right off 7th street and nearby to a new juice bar. The space has tons of natural light and white walls so it's bright and makes it look so spacious, even though the space is smaller than the 14th st location. The lobby/front desk area is nice but can get a bit awkward when there are lots of people waiting. I was seated for my appointment a couple minutes late but the service more than made up for it. The mani is usually 30 or so minutes but my technician spend extra time on my sugar scrub and my hands and arms were pleased. I recognized a few of the staff from the other location, so it's good to know service is still on point. Honestly the only negative of my appointment was the receptionist wasn't as helpful as the few I usually see on 14th, but this was minor. What I came for was the mani and it was PERFECT! I cannot wait to schedule a pedi soon :) read more

I've been getting manicures and pedicures here somewhat regularly for the last few months, and have been really impressed with the service and quality. My manicures have never lasted this long, and my nails are always shaped flawlessly the first time. I never feel rushed, and enjoy the experience here, too. I'll admit, I was excited for this Nail Saloon location to open, but since visiting, I've changed my mind. I scheduled online, which was easy. When I arrived, I was ushered to choose a color from trays of nail policy that were hard to look through. From there, it was a typical manicure process - nothing exciting or special. What I'm most upset about is the quality. I have had my manicure for 3 days, and almost every nail is noticeably chipping or the polish has cracked. After paying $32 for a manicure (non gel mind you), I'm disappointed that it didn't last longer than 3 days. Unless the salon starts to offer gel polish options or figures out a way to get a regular manicure to last more than 3 days, I don't think I'll be back. read more

Nailsaloon has created a very safe environment for employees and customers since DC's phase 2 reopening during coronavirus. They only schedule three pedicure customers at a time and space them far apart. Technicians wear masks, face shields, and gloves. Customers wear masks, have their temperatures taken when they enter the salon, and wash their hands. The nail dryers are not being used. I felt very comfortable having a pedicure here, and I'm in a higher-risk group because of my age. read more

Really enjoyed my pedicure here. It was excellent quality with nice massage and salt scrub. The salon is very bright and airy and no chemical smell. They use Zoya vegan polish and had Lavazza decaf espresso. The staff is professional and I was able to get the last spot on a Sunday. The only downside was the annoying pop music, although it was not overly loud, they could go for some classical, light jazz or background spa music. read more

I've visited this location several times for a manicure. (I haven't tried their pedicure services). This is my favorite location to sneak out early from work and do some quick pampering. I've had great experiences until today. My nail technician was less than skilled and chopped at my cuticles (leaving them rough). I asked her to fix several areas, but they still weren't up to my normal quality (or what I would expect for a $30+ manicure). I also hate when a technician files your nails crooked. I do love the polish though... Great color selections and they are long lasting for non-gel options. I am skeptical to return after my experience today because the manicure just wasn't worth the cost. read more

Despite sitting there for an hour to dry, three hours later I noticed that the tips of my fingernails were already chipping. I've never had that experience before. They also do not have any heat lamps. I dont use the blue lights -- but the salon I usually visit has heat lamps to assist with drying. The fans they provided only blow dust and ruin the manicure. Also, the pedicure chairs are not comfortable. They are a weird gross suede that you cannot really tell if they are clean or not. There is no massage component to it. I did like that it was well lit and the location is convenient and that they offer a beverage. However, for the price -- 20% more than I normally pay for spa mani/pedis, I expected more. read more

As a first time customer to nailsaloon, it was not what had expected, it was just okay, especially since I was referred by a family member and was excited about the visit. The receptionist was not that friendly, I told her I was there for my appointment. The only thing she says is to pick a color from the back wall. After picking the color I wasn't sure where to go, if to the pedicure chair or just find some place to get out of the way, that is such an awkward feeling and I don't like it. I looked ahead and saw some bar stools by the window and took a seat. After about 15 minutes and nothing else had been said to me. I went up to the desk when my appointment would start. The receptionist indicated the person I had my appointment with was getting ready to leave for the day and that someone else would be taking care of my appointment. First I will say that the lady was very nice, but not quite as experienced. I could definitely tell she was trying to do her best. She keep using the slim brush to clean up around my toes as she polished them and the same with my gel manicure, even more so. She put a lot of coats of polish on my nails. I didn't like the idea of having to pay $10 each for the removal of polish from both your hands and feet. The gel manicure and pedicure are $50 each, which means total cost would be $120. I don't mind the cost of the manicure and pedicure, but want the experience to go with it and my nails not to chip within the same week. I paid for my service, thanked the receptionist who didn't say anything and just left. read more

What a fabulous addition to the neighborhood! I decided to switch it up from my regular nail salon and am so happy I did. My manicurist (I can't remember her name!!) was incredibly kind and talented, and my nails looks great over a week later with no chips at all. The staff was welcoming and the salon clean and calming, with good music. Love that they avoid chemicals and the house-made scrub was a welcome change from the strange mystery scrub at other salons. I made an appointment online a few weeks later for a mani pedi (same day on a Sunday). The front desk staff person was very friendly and accommodating. I only had to wait a few minutes after my scheduled time and they kept me in the loop. I was a bit disappointed by the chairs (which is why I knocked off one star). They are low back leather chairs and while comfortable, not very supportive (no massage functions) and it's awkward to sit with your laptop. My mani / pedi still looks awesome 5 days later! The scrubs and massage on my feet, lower legs and even my hands and arms were soooo relaxing. This place costs a tad more than nearby spots but the atmosphere, service, beverage selection and playlist made me feel like it was worth the extra. First the good, the decor of nail saloon is very clean. The music is a mix of popular hits and there is a reasonable selection of colors. There isn't the heavy acrylic smell that comes from some salons. However, for an 80 dollar mani/pedi I just expected...more. The pedicure felt kind of rushed. The water was tepid at best and my technician didn't appear to speak a word of English or particularly care about my experience. My manicure also didn't dry properly and is now completely wrecked two days later and I left with my feet feeling somewhat greasy. As of yesterday, I've gone to the Capitol Hill location of Nail Saloon twice after a friend recommended it. The first experience was on a weekday and was great. The price is a bit steep ($80 for mani and pedi) but I reasoned that the products are nontoxic (I noticed that my underlying nailbed didn't seem damaged after my first visit), nails dry fast but last relatively long for non-gel manicure (about 7-10 days), the salon is clean and well-kept and they serve you drinks. So, after my first visit, I intended to make it my "go to nail salon," praised it to friends (arguing that the better polish *almost* justifies the price) and even planned on taking my mom when she's in town. All that changed after my second visit yesterday. Worrying about the time as I wanted to get both a mani and pedi done, I called ahead at 5:20 pm, knowing that they close at 7 pm and not sure whether they were busy. The person who answered repeatedly informed me that if I arrived after 6 pm, only one service could be provided. I assured her more than once that I would arrive before 6 pm (as that seemed to be her biggest concern). I told her I was leaving home right away, she asked how far and I said, "9 minutes." She said that should be fine. As luck would have it, I accidentally entered the Logan Circle location into the Uber app which meant that the ride took longer than it should have. I eventually arrived at 5:43 pm, thinking, it should be fine as it was still well before 6 pm and over an hour before they close. Upon arrival, I was shocked to have her say that I could no longer receive both services. She went through a variety of reasons, including, asking for my name (she had not asked for it when I called so I was not listed but I reminded her of the call), insisting that she did tell me all along that it could be only one service and never acknowledging the 6 pm cut-off she had mentioned at least 3 times on the phone, claiming that it takes 55 minutes for a manicure so it's not possible to do both (huh??). Back and forth we went as I argued with her and she mentioned that I had said I was arriving right away. I explained the uber mixup and she shrugged unsympathetically. Eventually, only because I kept arguing, she agreed to the 2 services. As I sat having my pedicure done, at least 5 customers arrived *after me* and were greeted with no questions asked. Each of them only had 1 service done but all arrived after 6 pm. In fact, 2 customers arrived *after 6:30 pm* for manicures. One as late as 6:40 pm (she was clearly running late) with no questions asked and no hassle given (whatever happened to the 55 minute mani?). Hmmm..shocking! Upon completion, as I checked out just after 7 pm, she asked how the service was and I mentioned that it was fine but I didn't appreciate the runaround I was given to receive the services. The back and forth restarted as she insisted that she had always told me both services couldn't be provided. She even went so far as to say that when I originally called, I told her I would be there in 2 minutes (again, huh??! Impossible unless I lived in the same building as the salon). One of the technicians then interjected and said to me, "Excuse me - did you receive the service?! Did you receive the service?!" The implication being that I had no right to comment on the disappointing customer service because, hey, you got the service so what's the big deal? Nevermind that I had to repeatedly argue to be serviced in the first place after incurring a $13 cost to get there. Needless to say, sorely disappointing and I'm left unable to recommend or refer anyone else to this location. read more

I am so excited to have this spot on the Hill. It's light and bright, roomy, and most importantly CLEAN. I appreciate the extra comfy chairs, the drink service, and having plenty of room to move about. I love that they use liners in the pedicure tubs and open sanitized tools for each treatment. It's pricey, but you get what you pay for. In a neighborhood that is totally saturated with nail salons, this one stands out above the rest. read more

I have a bit of a mixed review. Great service and I love that I can get non toxic nail services close to me. My nails lasted 6 days before chipping and that's longer than some gels last on me! My only complaint is the chairs. They are not that comfortable and getting in and out of them is a little sketchy. My feet kept slipping and this imo is a lawsuit waiting to happen. Also, I would love to bring my Mom in but she wouldn't be able to get in and out of the chairs because of a hip injury. Nice place and will probably go back for a mani but not a pedicure. read more
