We gave our birthday and allergy information at check-in, but none of it was passed along, so we had to repeat everything. We also never received our appetizer despite asking about it twice. Each time we were told it was "coming right out," but it never arrived. Meanwhile, several tables seated after us were served, finished their meals, and left before we got our food. The food was surprisingly underwhelming. We wanted the whole fish, but it was already sold out, so we ordered the half chicken. It was bland, slightly sweet, and a little tough--definitely not what we expected from a Michelin-recognized restaurant. The birthday dessert was delicious, and the complimentary mezcal shot were nice gestures, but they didn't make up for the overall experience. We left disappointed and still hungry. Acre is a beautiful property, but unfortunately the service and food didn't live up to our expectations. I sipped on one of their signature cocktails, the Applebum, made with tequila and sake infused with green apple and citrus. It was just as refreshing as it sounds. Standouts were the fried yuca stained black with squid ink to mimic charred wood and the grilled camarones in a rich red adobo sauce. The chocolate cake that mimicked ashes was art on a plate with special kudos to the pastry chef for that greek yogurt gelato. Perfect for a date night or special occasion which in my group's case was celebrating that we're alive and able to enjoy Los Cabos. Salud!
