When we mentioned that that was not what we discussed previously, his tone changed and started becoming rude and snappy and seemed annoyed by us. "I don't think we are on the same page here. I'm hearing a lot about baby teeth but I'm not concerned about that"

Please understand that I don't know much about other similar providers, but I will share my thoughts about the care provided for my two children over the years. When we needed braces for our son, the name we were given was Dr. Kemp. He is the definition of local legend, and he's earned those accolades the hard way: He created a superior practice and provides amazing care for patients and family alike. Dr. Hall is the other heavy hitter in the office. Impressive in all ways, working with skill and compassion. If you're like me, environment plays a huge role in experience. Their office is spotless, smartly decorated, and inviting. More importantly, the office staff provides exceptional customer care. You lnow you're in good hands with this team, which speaks to the quality and thought given to hiring practices. Finally, and most importantly, I can boil down my experiences here to one word: Trust. They expect children to be pulled out of class for routine appointments. They're only open every other Saturday, and those slots fill so fast they're basically unusable. The practice is completely unaccommodating and has an arrogant attitude about it. To make matters worse, both of my kids were told they'd have braces for about a year, and in both cases treatment lasted nearly twice as long. Either they're very bad at estimating timelines or they're not being honest up front--neither is acceptable. It also feels like unnecessary adjustments are made just to undo them at the next visit. My dentist was surprised by how uneven my daughter's teeth still are. Overall, this place feels difficult, poorly managed, and questionable. Not recommended.

My first impressions were very good. Kind staff, good with kids, they talk you through their…read moredecisions; however, when my child needed extensive work, I listened to their plan, in the moment trusted the Dr., agreed to treatment, paid a deposit. As I sat with it I grew concerned because the treatment plan included sedation. Expensive and risky. I asked for the X-rays which they sent, but I also requested the plan be written up with a rationale and any other possible options. I'm not a medical professional and do not understand everything thrown at me in the office. There was a follow up phone call where the staff proceeded to tell me verbally the plan. I explained it was intensive and costly and I don't understand so I would like it written up and may seek a second option to make sure this was the right path. I was told they welcomed a second option but that my $1000 deposit was non refundable. I found this really disconcerting. I understand the need of a deposit but when there is genuine concern and you have to make decisions on the spot, I also think making it no refundable with prior notice is poor customer service which I expressed to them. They then sent me an email telling me "our professional bond had been broken". Very concerning for a parent looking to be more informed in making medical decisions for their child. First I felt pressured to agree, then I felt vilified for asking questions.

Despite giving her nitrous oxide and trying different methods in calming her down, the poor thing was shaking and in tears. I asked the doctor if there's anything else that she could think of to get my daughter to undergo the procedure. Her suggestion: tying my child's entire body down to the chair. Yea, hard pass lady.
