Beautiful restaurant next door to the Sandy Springs City Hall, NAM Kitchen proved the perfect spot for a dinner out. Excellent and welcoming service, pretty decor (think lots of candles, wood, orchids, and beautiful photo prints), and delicious food. My favorites included the shrimp spring rolls (fresh and flavorful), green mango salad, and the shrimp/ pork vermicelli salad. Pho was pretty good, but could have been better with sliced meat as opposed to sausage. The restaurant just opened, and the alcohol menu was limited, but we were offered a few beer and wine options. I'm so excited to have NAM Kitchen join the Sandy Springs neighborhod. It can work well for a date night or a special dinner. I'll definitely return! read more

Stopped in on a Saturday night. Not many people there as the place recently opened. Lots of wood decor, orchids, and greenery, with candles, some jazzy tunes on the speakers, and TVs above the bar. We ordered: Shrimp spring rolls = **** as the grilled shrimp were still warm, indicating made to order, with lettuce and fresh basil. Mango & Grilled Shrimp salad = **** shrimp were big, perfectly done, and paired with a sweet/spicy salad Tenderloin Beef and Meatball Pho = *** only because the meatballs were flavorful but a bit dense; broth was very good. Special Vermicelli Noodle Salad = **** tasty mix of pork and more of those yummy shrimp with vermicelli, lettuce, cucumbers, and carrots. Service was attentive. We enjoyed the decorations and environment a lot. Beef pho is very good, which include several fresh shrimps in the soup making it more flavorful. Chicken claypot is good but a little salty for me. Just discovered Nam Kitchen and glad to find it! We had lunch there and both the food and service were exceptional. The decor of the place is modern and inviting and is at harmony with the cuisine. Started with the crispy egg rolls appetizer. Delicious flavor and nice texture. Would've liked the sauce to be a little thicker, but it didn't detract. We had a pork/chicken combo Banh Mi sandwich which had great complex flavors and tasty shrimp chips. Also had a chicken vermicelli bowl. The (fish?) sauce they give to pour over was a nice completion to the dish and not at all overpowering, but again would have liked it a little thicker in consistency. This is a room temperature dish that was great for lunch. The portion was larger than I could eat at once. Server recommended the guava cheesecake which was the best thing! Not usually a fan of cheesecake but this was really nice. Not too heavy and the guava was not overpowering. All told, great place that we'll definitely return to. I ordered the vermicelli with chicken and shrimp. It came with a side of fish sauce, which I poured over the entrée. (as told too by the server) The fish sauce ruined the meal. It was disgusting! After spending $24, I felt like I had wasted my money and should have gone across the street to eat at the Persian restaurant. My friend had the clay pot. She thought it was good, but felt like she over paid for her meal. We both agreed that we would never eat at this establishment again. read more

This place looks nice but the food and experience were very lackluster. The service was non existent as were the masks. The mango was inedible. The shrimp was missing from the dish. They are not currently providing real silverware, meaning anything a little tough is almost impossible to cut. Overall this place is ok, but not worth a special trip. I was hesitate to try this place... after reading the comment. Since we crave for authentic Vietnamese food! Guess what? My gut was right! This isn't the place their much more of so much alcohols. For me it is like social gathering kind of restaurant and people sit on the bar watching football games.Their entrees is all the way on the back of the menu and are very limited. The one that shock me is that they selling sushi as well. I never meet a Vietnamese restaurant serving sushi . The Tables and chairs are hidden in the back of the store/ restaurant. There are only two people and one of them always stuck behind the bar. The other one is a server and Good Luck waiting for 10 min or so for them to remember to take your order. If you love to drink and wanted to eat while drinking then this is the place. Me and husband doesn't drink and we are very hungry. We decided to walk out of the restaurant. The server who show us our table take too long to come to us since we are not within his view. Also, the menu that you see in person compare to their online version are totally different. The decor is a good combination of tropical South-Eastern Asia and western wine cellar . Service is fast and our server is very courteous. The drink presentation is great as well . However, the food choice is limited and what we ordered are all very sweet- we ordered the clay pot with grouper, the shrimp spicy lemongrass and noodle salad with pork. The sweetness is so overpowering that covered other flavors. For people who like sweet Asian food, this may be a good place to go though. read more

Needed to find an alternative to our favorite 285 colonial kitchen. Came over here for dinner. Militant valet gave us a very hard time about parking in front. Came into the restaurant which was very crowded. We were seated immediately and then ignored for 20 minutes. Went to the host and asked for menus and maybe a wait person for some drinks. 15 minutes later still no menus still no wait person. We actually got up and left. Unfortunately the food may be great but we never even got a chance to order. Terrible experience all around. Went here for dinner as I was watching it being constructed and it had an attractive look. My guest ordered a chicken entree and I an eggplant entree. The food was mediocre and the portions were appetizer size. My meal maybe cost NAM $1 to prepare and they sell it for $17. The restaurant feels more like an upscale bar. The food menu is small. I asked the server to convey my disappointment with the owner and she wouldn't do so while I was there saying the owner who is also the cook was too busy. Let me start off by saying that the ambiance is beautiful. My husband and I were in the Sandy Springs area and decided to stop here because we LOVE Asian cuisine. Our waitress was super friendly and helpful, and the food and drinks were a tad bit above average. As we are sitting waiting on our bill, my husband notices a huge bug crawling on the wall and takes the picture to show management. I am deathly afraid of huge bugs, so he didn't tell me until after he had taken the picture. We let one of the waitresses know that we wanted to tell management that they had a HUGE insect in their establishment. The waitress was super friendly, but when the manager approached us, she went BALLISTIC! She accused us of trying to get a free meal and says that the door is open all day so it is to be expected. She told us to get the f$#k out of her restaurant and that we could post all we want. She also stated that we acted like we never had bugs in our house. I WAS BAFFLED. I couldn't believe she went that crazy after we kindly let her know about the bug we tried to keep it so that the other patrons didnt know, but she made a big scene. We initially did not intend to post the bug online, we recorded to show her. We even still offered to pay the bill even though she was so rude to us, mainly because we wanted our waitress to be tipped. Needless to say, I wouldn't doubt that there are also bugs in the kitchen as well as some other unsanitary activity that happens here that is overlooked. We will not be returning! BEWARE! read more

Beautiful little restaurant for American Viet-like meals. This is evidenced by the English names for everything. The cha gio are crispy on the outside and mushy on the inside; either over cooked or started that way. Flavor is ok but not outstanding. I had the combination bun - aka noodle salad. It had plenty of meat, 3 or 4 shrimp, cha gio pieces and green salad. Absent were the usual herbs in the salad. The sauce was good but got lost when added to the greens and noodles. Roman at Nam Kitchen has been nothing short of spectacular. This is the second time we've been here, hoping Roman would serve us again and we were delighted with his luminous smile and presence. There's nothing he can't do. He's extremely attentive and very Knowledgeable of the menu. He answered every question we had and provided his beef tenderloin salad recommendation which was absolutely delicious! Great service all around. Stopped in for lunch today and had a great experience. The environment is modern, yet warm and inviting, and so was the staff. As for the food itself, the crispy egg rolls were excellent and the Banh Mi chicken and pork combo sandwich had a great combination of flavors. The meat was warm with bold flavors that were balanced by the freshness of the cucumbers and cilantro in the sandwich. The bread was fresh and crispy. We ended our meal with the guava cheesecake. It was absolutely fantastic! The texture of the cheesecake just melted in your mouth, and the guava flavor was just right, not overwhelming. I will definitely be back to try more of their dishes. My husband and I were a little disappointed that they did not have Pho on the menu the evening we visited-New Years eve. Nonetheless, we throughly enjoyed our food because it made us try other items on the menu. Nice and very professional staff, cosy ambiance (excellent use of space) and fast service. My husband and I agreed that Nam is the best tasting Vietnamese food we have ever had.
