I've been twice now, so it's official--this place has me in a chokehold. Tucked away in North Scottsdale, it's quiet, chic, intimate, and both times I've visited, the restaurant has been comfortably full. Everything is clean and well-kept, bathrooms included. The chicken tikka masala is phenomenal--tender chicken in a perfectly spiced, flavor-packed sauce. The vegetable samosas are some of the best I've ever had, especially with their mint chutney, which deserves its own round of applause. I got a little excited and ate one samosa before remembering I needed a picture. Thankfully, I saved one for Yelp. And the garlic naan?! Crispy around the edges, soft and perfectly chewy, loaded with garlic and cilantro. I actually ate the leftovers the NEXT DAY. If you know me, that carries significant weight because I do not do leftovers. I literally carried that naan around until every last piece was gone. The people running the restaurant are incredibly kind and welcoming, and the service has been wonderful both visits. I've tried a LOT of Indian food, and this is easily one of my favorites. Really enjoyed this place, the only downside is it's kind of far but worth the drive! Right away we were greeted by staff who were so friendly and seated our large party. We ordered multiple appetizers and they were so yummy. The vegetable samosa was my favorite. They came out quick as well. We also ordered mango lassi which is a must. There's a bathroom accessible with separate one bathrooms for men and women as well. I tried the butter chicken and the tikka masala which were both delicious. I think I enjoined the butter chicken slightly more. The garlic naan was a great addition to the dishes as well. All with great serving sizes to share. We had lots of leftovers. Can't really speak about smoky Indian food without mentioning baingan bharta, a smoky mashed eggplant curry which happens to be one of my favorites. Ordering this dish at a place like Namaste was a no-brainer. The smokiness, combined with the richness and thickness of the mashed eggplant, was really satisfying. The bhindi masala, tender-crisp okra sauteed with a spiced onion-tomato gravy, was a tasty complement, with a balance of savory, spicy, and tangy flavors. If you have any doubts about the menu, talk to the friendly servers. And make sure you specify the heat level. Medium-spicy is a proper medium; it is not mild. Amazing food! I've eaten a lot of Indian food around the country and Namaste is top two. We went with the basics for trying a new place: tikka masala, lamb curry, palak paneer, and two orders of naan. The palak paneer was creamy, lamb was tender and flavorful and I don't even like lamb, rice was fluffy, and everything was truly cooked to perfection. We came in about an hour before closing and the service was still amazing and we were still welcomed to dine in. Prices weren't bad, especially for the quality. I found myself in north Scottsdale and needed some food. I had a choice between chain restaurants like chipotle and Panera, or an Indian restaurant I'd never heard of. Easy choice. Walk into namaste expecting counter ordering, but it's a full service restaurant. They tell me to grab any table I'd like. I choose a booth facing the windows. Service is immediate. The server confirmed they take Apple Pay. Excellent. I was in a rush so quickly ordered the chicken tika. They offer is as masala or just the tika. I decided it would be a bit healthier to go tika only. She asked for spice levels. This is tough because some restaurants you say "medium" and it's bland but if you say "hot" at some places they try to make it too hot. Decking is rather have hot than bland, I settled on hot. It was really hot haha but it was delicious and not so hot I didn't want to eat it. I think I'd do medium next time. But it was still fantastic as hot. Fresh chicken breast with onions and peppers. Reminded me of how I make arroz con pollo. Delicious! I got a half side of rice and scarfed the food down due to my pending appointment. The walls were adorned with interesting hand paintings highlighting some Indian history. Super interesting. And, being a lone diner, gave me something to do besides scroll my phone. The chicken tika came out skillet style. It was sizzling and steaming. Really awesome. It sizzled for my entire meal time! Great little sensory touch. Service was prompt. After some medical appointments at Mayo we used an UberEats coupon to order delivery. We had the spicy butter chicken, vegetable pakora, onion & garlic naan and garlic naan. The flavors were great on everything, although I found the pakora a little greasy. Pakora we have back in El Paso is usually formed into balls - these were more like fried veggie strips. Hands down the best Indian food I have had in Phoenix/Scottsdale. I had the Paneer Kathi Roll and Malai Kofta. A-m-a-z-i-n-g! The Kathi roll is spicy so watch out and ask for milder if that is not your thing. It is very very flavorful and I think the best I have had in my life (?!) I have high standards for Malai Kofta and theirs definitely met it with soft delicious koftas with rich curry. I also can't complete this review without mentioning the pesto naan! A very unique fusion take on traditional bread that I have never seen before. The portions are large and I ended up taking home leftovers, but I am glad that I tried it out. I think this is a family run restaurant and you can tell they are all passionate about what they are serving. It was quick, yet fresh. Delicious food!! I ordered delivery from Namaste on New Years Eve (crazy night over here!) and it did not disappoint. I went with the chicken tikka + a side of garlic naan. I decided to with with medium spice and it had quite the kick! I would say it's more comparable to 'hot'. The flavors and spices were so delicious though, so the heat was worth it. I ordered it with a side of garlic naan which I really enjoyed too. The food was packaged nicely and was still piping hot when delivered! We ordered takeout from Marigold Maison (our typical go-to Indian place in Phoenix) for a poker night recently and one of our buddies started raving about Namaste Indian Restaurant and said we had to go try it with him. So we did what any good Yelper would do which is eat Indian food two days in a row. I immediately noticed some stellar service - our waiter recognized our friends and noted that they hadn't been in recently (they'd been ordering takeout due to a new child). I'm not sure if he just has an amazing memory or if our friends have a major Namaste problem. We started off with the veggie samosas (served PIPING hot), the aloo tikka (secretly very spicy - don't let your 10 month old eat these ones), and Mixed Vegetable Pakora (veggie calamari?). Absolutely delicious. Garlic naan, chicken tikka masala, butter chicken, and paneer korma were our mains. Don't miss out on a mango lassi! Wow, came across Namaste by accident and now we're hooked. Great menu, food cooked before you eyes in a glass walled kitchen, fantastic staff. Upon seating I had a large chip of out the glass where I sat, as soon as I sat down and before I had a chance to say something, our waitress changed it out and apologized. That really stood out, I've been to some really nice high $ restaurants in the valley where you have to ask for replacements of dirty glasses or silverware. Food was fantastic and plenty of it. We were there weekday lunchtime and they had a constant slew of pick up orders for delivery and customers being seated. We saw the food being packaged for delivery and the containers were very secure for the saucy dishes. The selection of the menu is really impressive, I was even able to have something made which was off menu but very traditional. Turned out great. Plenty of left overs for us. read more

TL;DR good food, slow service My wife and I came here for dinner on a Friday. We waited about 35 min to be seated, another 20 min for the server to take our order, another 30 min for the food to arrive. We were served before a family that arrived way before us, they looked hangry and almost walked out. People waiting for their pickup orders appeared to be waiting longer than expected. The food was good. Not the best I've had, but not the worst either. We ordered garlic naan, butter chicken, paneer tikka masala, and lamb curry. Don't come hungry and bring a book to read if dining in on a Friday evening (probably Saturday too). I recommend ordering for pickup instead, you'll probably have time to see a movie at Harkin's before picking it up. read more

We arrived on a Saturday night around 7. 30 minute wait, no problem- the smell of the kitchen was convincing the wait was worth it. I ordered the saag paneer and garlic with chili naan. The saag paneer really was incredibly unique tasting. It was rich and creamy but was not overpowering. Portion sizes are large (or shareable). I brought half home. Been searching for a new go to Indian restaurant in the Valley ever since my usual place closed a few years ago, and I think it's safe to say after dining here a few times, that we've found a winner in Namaste! The food is phenomenal here. They don't skimp on the portion size, seasoning, or flavors. Some of my favorites from here include saag paneer, tandoori chicken, garlic naan, and their vegetable samosas. Their tandoori chicken is nice and juicy and seasoned to perfection. They probably have one of the better garlic naans I've tried in Arizona. Their vegetable samosas are also packed full to the brim, with a nice kick of spice, without it being too overwhelming. The ambiance is casual and comfortable. They have an adequate number of tables for their restaurant size, not too many tables close together where you feel like you're sitting on top of a neighboring table when it gets busy. Overall, the service is friendly enough, but can also be slow. I would not recommend this place if you're on a time crunch or looking for something fast. read more

I've been driving by this restaurant for years and I'm glad we stopped. It was a great meal. The Samosa were excellent and the dipping sauces were made fresh today and the pastry was perfect. We came back again our second time ( July 2022 and now July 2023). On our annual vacation at Marriott Desert Ridge area. We came in with the 2 little grandkids. We ordered vege samosas, 2 orders garlic naan, butter chicken, chicken tikka masala, saag paneer, basmati rice, Raita. It was all delicious and perfectly cooked. We were happy the small restaurant was t crowded this time as we cane right after opening time on a weekday. We loved our food and will definitely be back. First and foremost...this place takes reservations!! There were several groups waiting for tables but we were seated fairly promptly. The ambience is basic but the staff and efficient and friendly.
