    Tikka Masala

Solid 3.5. The Tuesday special for $12 was a great deal for a meal and a drink. The butter chicken (sorry, masala) and tikka masala could definitely have used more flavor and spices. I felt like I would have gotten more spices in a Trader Joe's meal. The samosa chaat was passable. I'm used to samosa chaat being a samosa broken open and topped with tomatoes, onions, sauces, etc. The one here was a big glop of toppings that completely hid the teeny tiny piece of samosa underneath that was hard to find. If you love a warm mix of chickpeas, onions and tomatoes then get this, but if you're looking for samosa flavors then just order the plain samosas. I would come back for the Tuesday special but maybe try some of their other items.

Move over Taco Tuesday. I'm all about Tikka Tuesday. Don't get me wrong. I love me some tacos but sometimes a smooth, rich, creamy curry is what the gut health wants. I ordered the Tikka masala at X! Hot and it was perfect for the chilly autumn weather. Rich, spiced, and comforting. It'sa hug in curry form. Get you some Tikka Shack. It's fast casual and surely will leave your tastebuds happy.

    Malai Kofta.

Curry Fact: It's estimated there are 10,000 curry houses in Britain - accounting for two thirds of their takeaway restaurants! I tried something new and now I have a new favorite. I ordered a Malai Kofta (House spice, ordered with naan and no rice), $13.25. What is Malai Kofta? Malai kofta is a rich and creamy North Indian vegetarian dish consisting of deep-fried paneer and potato dumplings (kofta) served in a luscious, spiced gravy. "Malai" means "cream," and "kofta" refers to the dumplings. A celebratory dish, it is often considered a vegetarian alternative to meatballs. At Tikka Shack, they do it well. Served with four kofta dumplings in a pool of delicious creamy sauce, I found myself mopping every drop with my naan. I even grabbed a spoon to make sure I had every taste. Tikka Shack has consistently delivered. Fast Indian cuisine with a Tikka Tuesday Special? Love it!

Can comfort food , healthy, and late night eats actually go together in the same sentence? OMGAAAWD!! This food is AMAZING!!! I wasn't feeling well and after having the Tuesday Tikka special ( Tikka Masala combo with great portions) I just want to be tucked in.

We love Tikka Shack and order from them all the time. We always get the Tikka Masala with Shrimp or Chicken, Garlic Naan, and a Naan Quesadilla for my son. This time we ordered all of that but also decided to try one of their Naan Pizzas. We went with the Paneer Makhani Pizza. Since it comes with spicy malai sauce we decided to have them leave off the hot peppers. The pizza comes with the sauce, sliced paneer, mozzarella, tomatoes, and methi leaves. It was good. The sauce had a little spice to it but wasn't bad so next time I would have them leave on the hot peppers. I liked the seasoning on the paneer and the Naan as the pizza crust was great. I would have liked a little more sauce on the pizza. We will definitely order this again or try one of their other Naan pizzas.

I love Indian food, and how fun to see it in a quick, almost "fast food" style format! While visiting Phoenix, I stumbled across Tikka Shack near the mall and had to give it a try. They offer a wide variety of Indian classics along with some creative twists like pizza and wings with an Indian flair. I went with a tikka masala curry bowl (ordered spicy, though I could have gone hotter), a kabob grill bowl for later, and couldn't resist trying the spicy tikka masala naan taco. The taco was flavorful and unique--something I'd definitely order again while dining in. The kabob bowl was a solid meal with your choice of protein, rice, and a small mango salad. Prices were very reasonable for the portion sizes, the staff was friendly, and the restaurant was clean and welcoming. Overall, such a cool concept with great value--I'd happily come back the next time I'm in town!

Came back again, the food is great! This time I ordered the veggie samosas (again, they're so good! - the sauce to dip them in is amazing!), the chole masala, and the shack naan. You guys, this food is delicious! The shack naan is garlicky, cheesy, warm and comforting! The chole masala is full of heat and flavor and lots of potatoes, chickpeas, and tomatoes. The packaging and service for take out is excellent, and the overall experience is great! It's fast, it's consistent and I think it's just a really great spot in general!

Located in the Desert Ridge Market Place Mall, Scottsdale. We left the Mayo hungry for lunch and wandered around the Mall before deciding to give the Tikka Shack a try. Ambiance 4/5 If the sensation of smell counts they scored high. The dining room was clean comfortable and fast food industrial. Service 3/5 Counter order service with number tent for your table. Seat yourself and self serve service drink station. Food 3/5 We ordered the Butter Tikka Marsala and super spicy Chicken Tikka Masala. Both came with Jasmine rice. We also ordered the Garlic Butter Nan. Impression My Wife wished she ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala. My super spicy chicken tikka masala was tasty and spice was fantastic. I'm surprised a fast food place like this had that level of spice! The flavor was not as rich as expected but well enough for fast food. Value 3/5 $46.82 for two for fast food is a bit steep.

    Taco

Tried the Tacos on a Friday evening. The taste was just all right. Somehow, the red cabbage and spicy sauce wasn't going on them at all. They need to improvise and come up with a better recipe for tacos for sure. Even the soda machine was not working and gave us flat soda with zero vanilla taste. We tried couple of them to get it right and they all had no fizz.

The flavors were nice. Savory. We ordered the family meal two entree. Our meal came with naan bread. Naan bread was crispy and soft. The chicken was soft and tender. The 65 had cabbages that added a nice crunch to the already crispy chicken. Will be back !

    Sambosa
    Mark C.

Located in the outdoor mall known as the Desert Ridge Market Place, this Indian chain place serves up various Indian dishes for fair prices. I got myself a lamb tikka masala with a sambosa which cost me around $20. I completely forgot about the spice levels and wished that the waitress asked both me and my crony about spice levels before confirming our orders. The base spice level was so good that I wish I had gotten a spicy instead. The meal itself was presented well and the place was clean. Overall, an enjoyable meal and nice place to hang out in.

I loved it. We landed at airport late in evening and found this place was open. It had reasonable price, super amazing flavors, fast service, some of the best refreshing drinks and clean ambience. I would really recommend spicy chicken tikka bowl. I loved it how they have mixed the flavors of mango in the food taking fusion to next level. They are open even after 10 pm. And there is no wait.

Ask the Community - Tikka Shack Indian Grub

Is the food here Zabihah Halal?

They don't say, but just enjoy the food. For the vegetarian food they have like rice, does it matter that they didn't pray for the rice? It's just rice. As long as you are one with nature, go ahead and eat to your hearts content.

Is your meat and chicken halal?

Tikka shack's meat and chicken are both halal. For those of you wondering about dark meat vs white meat as well, the spicy chicken kabob is the only dark meat, the rest of the chicken options for dishes are white meat.

Hello Everyone: This is a review for Royale India's new…read morelunch buffet. The date of service was 10.10.25 which was about three days into their grand opening for lunch. The cost for the buffet is just about $20 per person - but worth it! My review is as follows: What a lovely surprise to be seated at a table with a black fabric napkin and table linens. Typically, you only see this for a dinner meal, so to have during lunch was quite nice. Roger and David worked today - both did a very nice job. David ensured our water was full and offered us anything from the bar or to make him aware of anything else we may want. Because the restaurant is still working on the buffet signs so you know what you are eating, Roger took us to the buffet area and went through each item on the buffet in detail so we could make educated choices. To the right of the buffet was a table with Indian Tea (black tea with milk) and sugar included in the buffet price. For desert on the cold buffet they had rice pudding and mango (on the right on the cold buffet photo), but I ate so much for lunch trying all the hot items items, I will have to review those next time. You have a choice of plain or garlic naan with the buffet. This comes out of the kitchen, hot and freshly made. The naan was excellent, crisp on the outside, yet pull-apart doughy in the inside. Five Stars! The Raita was excellent - nice and thick. Roger said they have been perfecting this recipe. I think they got it ..... Five Stars! There are also mint and tamarind sauces on the cold buffet for your naan. The mint condiment was a little acidy for my taste for some reason, but it was refreshing. The Pickled Veggies were good, a little salty, but good. Rice choices included biryani rice or basmati rice. I nice touch to offer either on the buffet (most buffets only offer basmati rice). In the hot buffet, there were several items I tried: Fried Chickpeas - good, not my favorite, a little dry, but I can see where people might enjoy these dipped in one of the sauces. The Chicken Tikka Masala and the Butter Chicken both had tender cubes of chicken within the sauce, but the sauces were a little too similar for my taste and could be slightly thicker. Both dishes were good, but one did not "stand out" from the other (flavor). Vegetable Korma - was a pleasant surprise and actually turned out to be my favorite. Excellent dish. Five Stars! It was a nice and thick with loads of veggies. The Yellow Dal - was a little too thin (consistency) for my taste, it was good, but could have used more lentils in the sauce to thicken it up a bit and have a bit more depth of flavor. Lamb - the lamb dish was quite nice. The sauce was nice and dark and thick (not runny on the plate), and the lamb was fork-tender. I would categorize this as "very good" if you enjoy lamb this is definitely worth a try. The Palak Paneer was excellent. The spinach was not too runny, the cottage cheese was just firm enough and held up in the sauce nicely. I recommend the spinach sauce be slightly thicker when served, but I do recommend it. The Tandoor Chicken had fresh lemon and freshly cut white onions in the buffet tray to add to your plate. While people enjoy tandoor items on a buffet, I wonder if it is worth restaurants trying to keep chicken moist for hours on end during the course of the buffet. The flavor was good, but as would be expected the chicken was slightly dry, there is simply no way to keep it freshly moist. Tandoor is meant to be eaten when the dish is completed and ready to serve. I will leave it up to Roger to decide how he wants to manage this moving forward. Some of the hot dishes would benefit from more complex Indian layers of flavoring. I am not inferring they need to be spicer/hotter. Rather, the depth of flavor and different spices which set each sauce/dish apart could be slightly improved upon. Roger said he is monitoring how spicy or not customers would like the buffet items, so I am sure this will get sorted out over time. I understand buffets are tricky because you have to put out a dish which will appeal to the majority of the customers. NOTE: Roger offered if we wanted something "spicer" he would try to accommodate us, but I prefer not to have "heat" take away from the overall layers of flavors in a dish. Rather, use of ingredients, the amount of each ingredient and simmering should do the trick without making a dish so spicy all you feel and taste is "heat". If you leave this buffet hungry it is your own fault! LOL! I recommend giving it a try, for the price you are offered all the staples of an enjoyable Indian meal. We look forward to returning for lunch again, unannounced, to see how Roger and his team adjust flavors and sauces in the future. Also, I will be trying the desert options to see how they stand up to my review. Thank you Roger and David for a pleasant meal today!

It was our first time here and it was slightly confusing; we had to observe what majority of the other customers were doing to get an idea of how it works here. The weekend buffet is very self-serve. You get your water or tea by the area where the plates and utensils are, nobody asks if you prefer something different to drink. The only time you get service is when they come by to clear away plates you're finished with and when you check out at the counter. Additionally, they are a bit slow in refilling items, so if you see something you want, get it the first time around, instead of putting it off for another round. Overall, their food was delicious.
