Went there for early Valentine's Day celebration. We ordered, Mango Chicken(level 7), Chicken Tikka(Medium), cheese naan, and garlic naan. They were fantastic. I haven't seen my husband's eyes twinkle while eating in such a long time. It brought me so much joy watching him eat like that. We had great conversations with our server and felt welcome right from the get go. Chicken Tikka Saag. I've ordered this dish at many Indian restaurants and unfortunately it wasn't my favorite here. It just didn't have that distinct savory, spinach flavor that I'm used to. Chicken Bhuna. This was the best dish by far. The tomato flavor was perfect and all the extra goodies were scrumptious. Stopped in Grand Junction for dinner and found this strip mall family restaurant, highly reviewed. The restaurant is large, clean and the dacor is typical for a Nepalese/Indian establishment. Large menu to choose from. We decided on the Sizzling grill for two and lamb momo.. The chicken and shrimp were very good, the lamb tasty but a bit chewy. The vegetable korma was the best I've ever had, and the garlic Naan was excellent. Service was prompt and very friendly. Give this nice family restaurant a try. Only one complaint, the restrooms were a bit dodgy. Not terribly clean, lots of "stuff" stored in them, and the paper towel dispenser was empty. read more

What? A Nepalese restaurant in Grand Junction? Yes! This place is amazing and has some really fantastic food. I had some tandori style wings and some amazing lentil soup. Wow! Namaste Nepal is going to be our go-to restaurant when visiting Grand Junction forever after. We had ordered takeout after a day of visiting wineries. I am vegetarian and had the Baigan Bharta, described as "grilled eggplant with fresh tomatoes, onions, and green peas in a creamy sauce." It was so delicious that I looked up recipes for it so that I could recreate it. I don't often do that! My husband, the carnivore, had Chicken Karahiwala and was similarly laudatory about that. We enjoy spicy food and ordered level 7--right on target. We also had Kashmiri Naan, "baked leavened bread with cashews, raisins and cherries" which is not too be missed, ever. We did not dine in, so can't comment on the service, but we are fans and return customers for sure! We also did not have wine or beer as we had already fulfilled our wine quota for the day, but it appears from the notes about Namaste Nepal that they have a full bar. A Palisade Gewürztraminer would be a great pairing for a Namate Nepal dish of level 7+ spiciness! read more

This is a small, family run place in an older strip mall. Very basic: about 15 tables, mostly booths. Little decoration. Clean. The front guy is very friendly and talkative. The menu is astounding! He told me they have about 100 items. There are dishes I've never heard of anywhere else. I tried one new to me: pork makhani (pronounced, 'makh'ni'). The sauce is cream and butter based with tomato. Extraordinary! The restaurant has an 11-level spiciness scale. That allows a guest to 'fune tune' the heat. At '3', mine was perfect. Sadly, I'm traveling through, so only had this evening. Came here while driving from Salt Lake City to Denver. I was hungry and had high hopes for this restaurant based on the reviews here and on Google. I chose two of the items under the "Tibetan" section of the menu, and was underwhelmed. The person who greeted us and checked us out was incredibly warm, welcoming and gracious. I just wish the food was better. Vegetable momos: undercooked, with steamed vegetables and little other flavor in the filling. The chutney added some dimension, but was not memorable and the portion was not enough for 10 momos. Vegetable chau chau: Spicy (as requested, level 8 out of 10), but very little else. It was served a bit cold as well. The vegetables (broccoli, bell pepper, onion) were sauteed but the dish just didn't come together well for me. Chai: Quite sweet and mild, but I appreciated that it was made traditionally (i.e. not with tea bags). The spices were good. read more

The food was simply amazing and the customer service was excellent. Although some Yelp reviews were not favorable I couldn't believe they didn't love NNR. I couldn't stop eating but I had to TAP OUT. If and when you are driving through or spending the night in Grand Junction then you must eat at NNR. Finally some authentic cuisine that hit the Bullseye. The Hungry Hardhat has spoken. Let's be clear about one thing - those samosas are rocking!! Large, flakey, crispy, delicious! I could eat those for days. Ordered the veggie ones and came with potatoes and peas inside. One highlight was the vegan vegetable Thali. Came with several curries and soups, all of which were delicious and had anything from cauliflower to okra in the dishes to try. One last thing to take seriously is the heat scale. We've eaten our fair share of spicy Indian food, so we felt okay asking for an 8/10 on the heat scale. They didn't hold back. Maybe we are spoiled with the food in Los Angeles because we only thought this place was just alright. We chose this place because of the reviews and because it had vegan options. The inside looked a little dingy. We each ordered the vegan meal for one. There was so much wheat bread/naan but it didn't taste very good so it went to water unfortunately. The papad wasn't very good either. Lots of white rice. Two of the things were so so salty that I couldn't eat them at all. I threw them away completely full. The okra and the potato meals (don't remember the names of everything) were decent. The best part was the vegetable samosas. Had I known, I would have just ordered those. I got a stomach ache immediately after eating but that's not terribly unusual for me. I probably wouldn't go back but I do like supporting places that offer vegan options. read more

It's labeled as dinner for one, but it ended up being about three meals for me. Everything was absolutely delicious and not one item I didn't enjoy.
