Namaste Plaza is an Indian supermarket located in the Marketplace. It's on the same block as Target. The store itself is mid-sized and packed with products and boxes. There's a fresh produce, frozen, and packaged goods area. It looks like a hole in the wall rather than a modern market. I came here to buy spices. The prices and labeling were confusing. In short, I bought small mustard seeds labeled as $1.49 but was charged $2.99. I asked the cashier why and she explained it's because there's a smaller one for $1.49... but why was the one I purchased stocked under the incorrect price sign. To say the least, I was disappointed. However, their spice section is immense and affordable for the most part. Overall, I think this is a good place for locales who want to stock up on ingredients for cooking up Indian cuisine. However, I don't think I'll be back anytime soon. read more

It was my first visit and the woman working made me feel like I didn't belong. I read about their cashew cookies and wanted to purchase some for my team/employees at work. I was not greeted, just looked at up and down. I did not get offered any assistance while looking for this item. Just looked at and watched as i searched. I got rang out at a separate register than the woman in front of me. There was no thank you, and she put my receipt on my box of cookies and walked away. I'm not sure if it was because I'm black, but she spoke to the other 2 people in the store and handed them their receipt. The small details matter. I will never return, I felt uncomfortable. There inventory management is not that great. Most of the time items are not available and out of stock. Worst part is once we have gotten dosa batter and found fungus. Thank god we observed earlier otherwise we're about to feed to our kid. This shows poor management of items. read more

ABSOLUTELY NOT!!! When I think of where to purchase Indian food items, Pioneer Cash & Carry come to mind... except I don't live in Artesia. I was excited to find out that an Indian Market is located in Irvine @ the Marketplace. I had high hopes for this joint! Man.. the first thing I noticed when I stepped in the store how dull & drab everything is. There was boxes on the floor, boxes full of product that are being displayed on the store, boxes of product that looked like an employee was putting away but forgot to finish the task, it was just a mess!!! The Spice Aisle.. don't get me started. What a horrific disaster. Half the items aren't priced. So good luck with that! I ended up getting only a few items here because I didn't want to waste money or have any surprises at the register. The refrigerated aisle looked so empty! Not sure if it's always like that or if items are just in high demand right now? The bakery section looked sad.. empty boxes & just messy stuff everywhere. Didn't look appealing at all! So much stuff and variety jam packed into what little space they have! I loved browsing the snack aisle and felt like a kid in a candy shop. Unfortunately the produce is not the freshest (a lot of the red onions were molding) and there are a lot of things on the verge of expiring so must check expiration dates on anything you buy!! Also some things are stocked in the wrong places with the wrong labels, some items don't have labels at all so you don't know the prices, and some items are still unboxed from their bulk packaging and just left on the shelf. Luckily I heard about Namaste plaza near target Jamboree road from one of my friend and ever since that I have been shopping here, they have almost all the stuff that I would get in Artesia. I strongly recommend not going to this shop, I don't want to let my Friends and family go to this store. As per my Analysis they are selling at the highest rates in this area. But I've had bad experiences in other cultural markets, and was afraid of how we'd be treated. What was I scared of? There are some of the kindest people in this market. Namaste plaza has most of the Indian groceries and is one of stores in Irvine which carry almost everything one need. Anmol, manager here has been kind and has helped me ordering some specific items which they don't carry on floor!! Also, have some perishables which have bought came bad when I checked back at home, he just just exchanged them not once but couple of times.. I once had bad experience with one of temp staff and I called Anmol, who was already done for the day, but he immediately came back and took care of it. The nice lady at the San Diego Namaste Plaza (Beside 8Elements restaurant) told us about their branch in Irvine. We liked the variety of snacks at the San Diego store, so the Mrs. had made a mental note to herself to check this place out. We were in the neighborhood couple of weekends ago and decided to shop here. We helped ourselves to a variety of Desi snacks. Samosas. 2 for $2.49 Egg Puffs $0.99 each Laddoo's. $9.99/lbs. Assorted sweets. $14.99/lbs. We had Rava Laddoo, Ariselu, etc. to name a few. Mudukulu aka Chakodilu Jhantikelu, and Chakkalu. We absolutely loved all the snacks. It took us until today to eat them all. I inhaled the last 2 Boondi Laddoo's today. Ian devoured the last few Jhantikelu as his evening snack. It was not hot at all for his non-Indian palate. My sister and I went to this place on 05/07/2023 to pick up some Indian grocery's. We bought some plain yogurt and as we were going towards our car the yogurt fell and the carton broke. I picked up the broken carton and went back in. A very rude manager sitting at the food court area says that's your fault no refunds. I looked at him and said Sir I have not even said a word. Your reply and your tone was so rude. I walked away as I approached a cashier, I handed over the broken carton and said can you please dis-guard this broken yogurt and charge me for another. She took my money as another lady doing inventory is asking the cashier questions while i was still being attend to. The staff was so rude. Good thing I don't live in Irvine. This place is so dirty. No one should go there. I know I will NEVER EVER return.I begged my sister not to ever go there as well. She resides in Irvine. Pleasantly surprised to find this Indian supermarket. It's clean, organized and love that there are name placards for the contents of each aisle. The staff are helpful and proactive. There is a wide variety of Indian items available right from desserts to spices to fresh vegetables. This Indian grocery store is located in The Marketplace. It's in the same row at the Target near the T-Mobile. My recommendation is for you to shop elsewhere for your Indian (or international) groceries. The customer service is absolutely terrible. I have frequented this store more than once have always had terrible customer service and today will be my last time. The prices here are slightly higher as well than some other stores in the area, which I wouldn't mind if they treated their customers with respect. A quick Google search will help point you in the directions of other Indian stores that have way better customer service. Ralph's across the street from this location has some Indian staples like paneer and a lot of the spices if you need something in a pinch. I went to the cashier she has been here for a long time she has a fair skin 50-58 years old i didn't get her name she has always been rude not helpful at all. When you ask about a product she always makes excuses and doesn't want to help. I went to the her register to pay and was paying with cash she refused to take cash without any explanation or excuse . I asked her you should have a sign that you don't take cash she said yea but no cash please and i know for the fact that she did have change in her register but didn't wanted to go through the whole hassle of counting her register at the end of the night. Gopi yogurt bought yesterday with expiry date of April 2020. Owned the container today and found fungus on the surface Similar thing happened a few months ago with their breakfast cream (malai). Came home and checked, it had fungus too. It seems these guys are not storing the items in refrigerated rooms. It's only kept in refrigerated displays before sale. Aisles are generally in a mess and items unmarked. The vegetable area is dirty and damp with dirty boxes and rags on the floor. Disgusting! read more
