Observed fungus growth in the dosa batter
Sriharsha B.

There inventory management is not that great. Most of the time items are not available and out of stock. Worst part is once we have gotten dosa batter and found fungus. Thank god we observed earlier otherwise we're about to feed to our kid. This shows poor management of items.

Spice aisle: So many of the items aren't priced!

They have an incredible selection of different freshly prepared foods, with two giant buffet tables where you can load up on as much of the different options as you care to get. There's also an incredible variety of packaged foods, other items, and different things that are directly imported from Japan. It seems much bigger than Mitsuwa Marketplace, which is in the same shopping center. The selection is also a lot more varied. For example they have a ton of shabu shabu options that I haven't been able to find elsewhere. They also have a highly organized checkout system, as well as self-checkout, so you can get prompt service if you need it. Overall, this is a great place for anyone who takes Japanese groceries seriously. Worth the trip for lunch or for shopping!

My group of friends and I were purchasing snacks and waiting respectfully in line at Register 14. Our group consisted of one African American individual and three Southeast Asian individuals. When it was our turn to check out, the cashier told us the store was closed and refused to ring up our items. She directed us to customer service instead. When we went to customer service, we were informed that the store was actually still open until 10:00 PM. What made the situation even more upsetting was that after refusing to serve us, the cashier immediately rang up the customer behind us. If the store was truly closed, why were other customers still being checked out? The entire interaction felt targeted, disrespectful, and humiliating. While I cannot know the cashier's intentions, being denied service while another customer was served moments later left my friends and me feeling singled out and unwelcome. Rather than argue, I left all of my items behind and walked out. I have shopped at 99 Ranch for years and never expected to experience something like this. I hope management reviews the surveillance footage and register activity from Register 14 around 9:00 PM on June 6, 2026, and addresses why customers were falsely told the store was closed while others continued to receive service. Until then, I will be taking my business elsewhere.

Their refrigerated section had a beautiful selection, and I grabbed the potato gnocchi and fettuccine right away. As I explored the store, I kept finding more things I wanted to buy. It may look small, but there it's lots to see and buy. They have an incredible variety of pastas, oils, pastries, and specialty Italian ingredients. There's also a deli that makes sandwiches, and the staff member helping me was so friendly and patient. I didn't know what to choose, so they recommended their most popular item: the Great Grandpa Joe sandwich. I ordered the large to share, and let me tell you... it was the best sandwich I've ever had. Delicious, generous, and absolutely worth recommending. One thing to note: there's plenty of parking, but my phone directions took me to the back of the store instead of the front -- a little odd, but easy to fix once you know. Overall, the staff is friendly, helpful, and the whole place feels like a gem. I'll definitely be back.

Yesterday, I phoned into order some sandwich platters for a small gathering. I want to give praise to one of the nicest ladies ever! Pearla is so sweet, attentive and patient as I was navigating all the "goodness" on the catering menu. I wasn't rushed, I didn't feel as if she was in a hurry, although I KNOW she was busy, as Claro's always is. At the end of our conversation she called me "honey" reminding me of my Italian aunties and grammy. I'll be coming back to Claro's for years to come and so will our children! Added after event - still love Claros' but what happened to the bread? As another person posted, it's not the same Claro's bread I'm accustomed too. Sadly the sandwich bread was way too thick and "tough" to bite. I love my bread and unfortunately, tossed it and ate the delicious deli meats. (other ladies did too) I hope this was just a 4th of July busy weekend oversight. :-/

If you're a regular at Zion Market and have been to this location, you know that it is truly the…read moreelite location in comparison to Buena Park and the other Irvine location that no longer exists. For starters, this is a Korean market, which means you're going to get the unfiltered real Korean market experience. What I mean by that is no not all of the produce is gonna be top quality. Yes, you will have to get elbows deep to fish out 10 unbruised apples sometimes. Yes, you might need to pick out a few wilted outer leaves off of the cabbage. But hear me out, when the apples are 2 pounds for $.99 and the cabbage is 3 pounds for $.50. Beggars can't be choosers you know? If that's not your speed and you're willing to pay more for the pretty package produce, no shame, no judgment to each their own The staff that works here are truly like family. The aunties that serve samples will greet you like you're their own kid, the guys restocking the shelves speak broken Korean with the Korean uncles and aunties, and it will never fail to make you laugh because they're so exaggerated in their expressions. Even the 18-year-old cashier that won't make eye contact with you does their job efficiently. The ambience is just homey and welcoming. Everything is always where you expect to find it there's never any big changes, you can always count on the Lil retail shop in the back to the open and the grandpa's at work at the butcher/seafood counter to flash you a warm smile as you walk by. Oh, and don't forget the sweet grandma that runs the counter up towards the front and the auntie that runs the cosmetic store as well! All I can say is, don't knock it till you try it. It might not be for everyone, but you won't know till you try!

Review 16/365 Day Challenge…read more Our 1st time coming to this Zion Market. My son had a soccer game and decided to stop by b4 heading home. They also have Kimbap fast food at the court right when you walk into the supermarket. Ended up Grabbing lunch from CM chicken at the food court. While waiting for the fried chicken order to be done i went and grabbed some KaLbi to cook during the midday. What flavor chicken we ordered ~ Garlic Soy flavor was really yummy. Tasted similar like the known fried chicken spot that offers the garlic soy flavor. ~ Garlic Spicy Mild tastes like the Garlic Soy but with the Mild spice level. Isn't mild at all. Looks red & spicy but don't let that scare you to order this flavor. It's a new Flavor. Chicken is good, tender, fried to perfection and nice size. It came w a good size pickled daikon given with our chicken. The associate gave us a receipt and mentioned it'll be 15 mins to pick up. So i decided to do some shopping. Associate was really nice friendly & our order was completed as promised. The chicken spot looks clean and welcoming. Along has a delicious aroma of yummy fried chicken. This Zion is much cleaner and well organized than the Zion market in Buena Park I usually go to along w more up to date atmosphere. The aisle was not cramped and neatly displayed. The fruits , veggies looked fresh. The meat on some were a bit darker color, like not fresh red meat color. So have to keep your eyes peeled. Has a good selection of Korean items that you'd find normally at every Korean market. Lots of parking out front.
