Excellent food and service! Best Indian I've had in a long time that wasn't home cooked

I'm not sure if there's new cooks or new managers. But what used to be mild is no longer mild. When they first opened I could order a mild dish and really enjoy the flavors that I love without the extra spicy heat. Now their mild option is so hot, I can't enjoy the food. I've tried several items, entrees and appetizers, hoping to find one that's truly mild like when they first opened. But no, all too spicy. It's a shame I really love Indian food. I cook it at home because there I can control the heat. I just loved that there was finally an Indian restaurant that I could enjoy. But that's no longer the case. I wish they would have a truly mild version like before. If you can stand the heat level then you will enjoy this restaurant. I wish I could. read more

Maybe its just me, but everything about this place feels like just enough... except for the generous portions of curry. Lets start with the interior which also includes an outdoor dinning space. Its got pretty cool styling that is still simple and doesnt go over the top. Id say its just enough to be a nice restaraunt. Its also clean, but not too clean and neat. A very comfy vibe for the average dining experience. Maybe not so much for a fancy date night. Now for the food. Or maybe the menu. Its got just enough options to make the average customer happy. Some place may offer more option and even more exotic options, but this place has the basics and a few more. The curry dishes come in mild medium or spicy. Some places give you 5 different stars, and some don't even give an option, but this place has just enough spice options. Lets not forget about the portions. They give you a small serving of rice so be ready to order several orders of it. Like 2 or 3 extra per dish. Last the service. My experience with the service was also just enough. They were there when I needed them. Pretty standard service. Overall I feel like I got my monies worth and would recommend this place to others. Not for anything fancy, but for your every day average lunch or dinner. Family will appreciate this place. read more

The food is delicious, but fair warning, it's spicy! We usually like medium (3 out of 5) to medium-spicy (4 out of 5), but we've learned that here if we get all mediums (normal medium, not Indian medium), the meal is too spicy, so we'll usually get a medium and a mild, and the mild is still sometimes almost too spicy to be pleasurable. Their naan is also really thin and often soggy, and for the price and the small serving size, we usually just skip it. I've had authentic Indian food from past experiences and was blown away at how similar this place is. Honestly, in my decades of being privileged with it, I was happily surprised and my palate very pleased. They meticulously season everything well but you cannot sleep on their naan bread!! Gotta try their naan! There is nothing I've tried that has disappointed me yet. Seating is plenty & space is open concept. They accommodate for any size group. Tried the chicken 65 biryani and garlic butter naan. Delicious! Service was on point, friendly. Atmosphere was full of color and vibrant. I didn't know the servings would be so large. We had a few to go boxes. My husband had the vindaloo and he liked it too. We will definitely be back! read more

This place is small and unsuspecting. It's a cute little nook on Broadway toward downtown. And man is it good. Greeted immediately by staff. Drinks were served quickly and food followed a little bit later. I had the chicken korma and it was DELISH! We each got garlic naan but it would have been enough to share. Always excited to try new places in Tyler. Overall, great new spot! The decorations and vibes are cute. I don't recommend ordering the chili chicken but the gravy for the butter chicken and paneer tikka masala were delicious. They actually had the desired spicy level we wanted. The naan was a little dry and cold. The service was great, they just opened so give them some grace. They do have outdoor seating but doesn't look too comfy and there are no umbrellas or fans to help beat the upcoming summer heat. read more

We ate lunch at Namaste today. Most of the food we ordered was disappointing. The vegetable samosa was good, but the chicken 65 appetizer was extremely dry. The chicken tikka masala had a sweet taste which was strange. The worst dish was the chana masala. It wasn't very flavorful and was way overcooked to the point the chickpeas were mush. We won't be back. On the plus side the service was good. read more

Let me start off by the star of the show being the unbelievably good flavors of the food. I had the garlic naan and the buttered chicken. Both were sublime in their own respective was but together they made the perfect combo. Very very good food, especially in Tyler which sometimes doesn't have the best spots for food. Went to Namaste twice and food was really good both times! Haven't had authentic Indian food in many years so finding this place was awesome. Had to wait for the booth to be cleaned before being able to sit so cleanliness could have been better. Service was fine at first but I had to go up and ask for the check and to go boxes since they didn't come back to check in on us. Haven't written anything on Yelp in five or six years. So I'm writing this in hopes that our local new Indian restaurant is a hit. We've gone several years without a good one, Service = 5 stars. Ambience/cleanliness = 5 stars. Food 4 to 4.5 stars. The owners are very hospitable and offer to help with the menu if you're not familiar with Indian food. I was able to chat a bit with one of the owners and he said that the restaurant is driven by three sisters from India and that they specialize in food from the south part of India. Maybe you know what that means in terms of flavors north vs. south. I do not, I just know I like Indian food. The restaurant is bright and furnished with new tables and chairs. The food. The veggie biryani that my wife had was very good. She was very happy with it. I tried their house special curry, chicken, and after discussing the heat level, I decided on medium heat. My curry was flavorful as you expect with Indian cuisine, but the reason I did not give it a five is it was a tad salty. The heat level was what I expected. Hopefully they will see this review and go easier on the salt next time, or maybe this was a one off. Oh, and they make their mango lassi in house and it was fantastic. The portions are large. The good things were that the food was undoubtedly tasty, I didn't take pictures but I got butter chicken and buttery naan bread. Also the service was very friendly and attentive. Really it was great but I won't ever go back because my meal with tip cost 30 dollars. I have left overs which helps but that's just crazy expensive for chicken, rice and bread. read more

Love Indian food in Tyler! First time visit for us and we knew the restaurant had only been open a few weeks. We went in with lower expectations because of that. There is not a lot of seating so expect there to be a wait if it is busy. So, for the negative side....It seemed a bit hectic in the restaurant as it is new and they are obviously dialing in their processes. Of course, service was a little slow (We arrived at 6p on a Friday) and I did notice several mistakes with take out orders and our eat in order was not right. We ordered 2 naan, got 1 and were billed for 3 (We paid for one in the end). Seemed they were struggling with the wait list, which I don't think there actually was one. Disliked the bus cart coming in and out of the restaurant dining room. The space between the tables is not sufficient for that and no one likes to eat next to a dirty food cart. On the positive side.....staff is very friendly, the food is very tasty. I think with a little time under their belt all the negative stuff will get worked out. Indian food is not cheap, so expect to spend 100.00 for 2 if you order 3 dishes and some naan. (After tip.) We will definitely be back. Good luck to you! read more
