I finally made it to this spot during a trip to Tyler, and wow - I'm officially hooked. The food was straight-up delicious, and the spice level was PERFECT (not too tame, not mouth-on-fire, just right). I got the pad Thai and some green curry, and both were packed with flavor. The sticky rice was honestly one of the best I've ever had - sticky, sweet, and perfectly cooked. Portions were generous, and the prices were surprisingly reasonable for the quality. I paid about $15-$20 for a full meal and felt like I got a steal. From now on, every time I'm in Tyler, this is where I'm eating. Hands down the best Thai spot in the area. The food and service is always excellent however, this is literally the 4th time in leas than 2months that I've been here and they're out of Coke Cola. I don't drink diet drinks and that's all that's available. Send someone to Walmart if you run out of Coke. Once I would understand but 4 out of 5 times no Coke!!! DO BETTER!!! Having reviewed the very stylish Zara some time ago with good comments, I'm not sure what to make of our most recent visit where almost nothing was acceptable. This time, the Vietnamese spring rolls were obviously leftover unsold ones from the previous day; biting into them was like biting into a rubber glove. Not wishing to be all negative, the sweetish sauce served with them was excellent. Then on to the eye of the tiger salad: Oh, my! What was supposed to be grilled beef was not identifiable as such and as tough as shoe leather. I counted the number of chews required to swallow a piece: 24. My companion ordered the lemon chicken, the texture and taste of which was most easily described as styrofoam-ish. The side of fried rice was okay, undoubtedly acceptable for those who haven't experienced the dish from an oriental master. We left our plates almost untouched on the table and asked for a check. Since it was obvious that almost nothing was consumed, we anticipated a question from the server as to what was wrong. Alas, the question didn't come, and our fifty bucks will just be a contribution, I guess. We could have sent everything back, of course, but that's just not our style. I hope this experience was an exception but, for now, I have to call it like it is. read more

The first time I came here everything was delicious especially the iced Vietnamese coffee. It was so good and I couldn't wait to come back. I came here again last night and ordered the exact same dishes: Tom Kha soup, drunken noodles and Vietnamese coffee. It was not good. The Tom Kha soup was good both times but please chop the ingredients. No one wants to fight huge pieces of meat and vegetables when trying to eat soup. The drunken noodles are sheets of noodle not cut thick like they should be and they had absolutely no taste. I don't think it had sauce at all. They put so much Thai basil by the time I picked it all out it was probably about 1/2 cup worth. There should only be two or three sprigs in this dish to enhance the flavor, not as much as they used, which drowned it out in a strong licorice taste. Lastly, the Vietnamese coffee was so strong and not enough condensed milk. I was so bummed. We ordered this as takeout and didn't discover our disappointment until we got home. Otherwise, I would have asked them to remake the noodles and my coffee. All the other reviews mentioned huge portions. For some reason, this town is obsessed with huge portions, but I much rather have a smaller portion and have it taste good. Unfortunately, like a lot of new businesses that open, they tend to be hit or miss and not consistent. I believe that is what eventually causes their closure. Hopefully this place can get it together and be consistent because it has a lot of potential. The inside is nice and clean. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I will probably wait a few more months to see if they can get it together and will try again. Hopefully, it will be as good as it was on my first experience. Note. The restaurant looks great. Very classy. We ordered pad thai, pa nang and tom yum soup. The pad thai and pa nang were good, very authentic tasting and flavorful. Pad thai portion was okay but the pa nang seemed to have a lot more bang for the buck. The tom yum soup, while it was not bad, could have used more lemon grass to add kick to the flavor. We walked in at just a few minutes before 9:00 and were immediately greeted as if it were 7:00. No hint of "why are you here. We want to go home." The dining room was very attractive and clean, and we were seated in a very comfortable booth. And things only got better from here! Our server, Nick, was helpful, very pleasant, attentive, and did a fantastic job--even though he also was serving several other tables. Still, all of this pales in comparison to the delicious food! We started with steamed chicken dumplings (good!) and some of the best spicy edamame I've ever had. Then, for my entree, I had their wonderful vegetarian pho. Picked this place on a whim for my birthday dinner and honestly had mid range expectations due to some reviews, but I'm glad to say that was incorrect. We got there, were promptly seated and tended after. Our waiter was very friendly and quick, the atmosphere was chill, the food was really delicious. We got panang curry and orange chicken, chicken potstickers for an appetizer, a Thai tea, and sticky rice with fresh mango. It was all delicious. Everything tasted fresh, chicken was tender and not stringy, veggies were all fresh. The potstickers had really good flavor, and the orange chicken was a major hit. My mom usually shies away from different foods as she can't do much spice, but she said her orange chicken with a spice level of zero was delicious. We ate at this restaurant last weekend, and ordered one of our dishes to go. All of our food had chicken as the protein and we ordered both an appetizer and a dessert. Unfortunately, we failed to check our "to go" dish before we left, and when we got home, we discovered that the meal was vegetables only, and the requested chicken had been left out. The meal was in the $12-$15 range. In the world we live in these days, I have to say that this seemed highly suspicious to me, as if they were banking on the fact that because it was tightly wrapped and ready to go, we wouldn't check it before we left. I don't think there was any way they could have misunderstood and done this inadvertently. Our otherwise enjoyable night out was ruined, and I don't think we will ever visit this restaurant again. About 2 weeks ago went in. Usually very good service and food. Went about 5 on Saturday, and they were not busy. Alicia took order and within normal time from ordering it was received. The ZAZA plate I normally get was cold. Not lukewarm, but refrigerator cold. Told her that it was cold and she took it back. When I got it shortly, it was now lukewarm and was just ready to finish and go. Now, forward a week, when one of the kitchen staff I see, tells me that they knew how Alicia tested the temperature. She stick her finger in it. Won't be back after knowing this. What was a fair experience, now is bad. read more
