    Midnight Heat

I tried to order in advance on my car ride to the restaurant well in advance for the 11:50 AM pick up, but when I arrived, they did not receive my order. They have a very extensive menu with a lot of creative rolls. The person taking my order at the restaurant was very quick and reassuring that I would be able to get my food in like 10 minutes. When I came back he was already on his way to handing me the bag, such sweet and attentive service. I got the midnight heat and the sunrise sushi roll and a California roll. The sushi itself tasted great, but I have to say that the presentation was slightly questionable. The rolling did look a little sloppy, but that might be because there was pressure to rush my order. Also they give a lot of extra ginger, which I love and this is without asking, so kudos to them for that. Either way, I would be happy to come back in order more sushi rolls from here.

placed an order for pick up at 6:40 & was told it would be a 40 min wait. It ended up taking an hour and 15 minutes. Granted they were busy but they only have one server for the whole restaurant. On top of it taking so long for our food, the mozzarella melt roll wasn't even melted all the way, just shredded mozz over sushi, did not taste good.

I really like the sushi here! I come here every now and then, I came for their lunch special for the first time. It's usually not packed, it isn't any of the weekdays or weekends I go. It's very clean, calm atmosphere. I will try to come here more often for their lunch specials.

Came here on a random Saturday night and they do not take reservations however we were lucky to be able to walk in and find a table immediately. This is located in a strip mall so there is a lot of shared parking. However, the strip mall is a full occupancy and parking can be scarce. This is my first visit here and I have to say it was very good considering that it was definitely a modern take at sushi as well as maintaining some of the respect for the traditional parts of the recipe. For example, we did order an udon soup and that was very good. The broth was rich and had flavors beyond just being a unilateral flavor. We ordered a bit of sushi and all were very fun creative combinations. Definitely not traditional and definitely for someone who wants to take a risk and try something new. I would definitely come here for something that is fairly priced affordable good portions and takes a creative modern. Look at sushi in a very unpretentious environment and location.

Love the various ways sushi is served! It can be so magical, enticing, creative, and or extravagant. I liked this places combination of well-prepared, taste-good sushi, the various options & presentation.

Seaweed Salad And The Sweet Potato Tempura Roll Lunch Special

Came at lunch and got some rolls and appetizers. It may be about as good as you expect from a sushi place in a strip mall. Nami Sushi is one of the better places to eat in Harwood Heights. Good prices in fast some of the cheapest. This is about as cheap as it gets for sushi outside of a gas station. After looking up places in this suburb to eat, we chose here. It sure doesn't look like much. This is in a crummy looking strip mall with a lot of empty storefronts. Coming at lunch was a good idea. There's lunch specials. It was $3 for some salads and appetizers. We got the Seaweed Salad. It was simple but good. Lightly seasoned with soy sauce and sesame seeds. It had specials at lunch. We got the modest yet impressive Sweet Potato Tempera Roll Lunch Special. It's about $4.75, which is a good price for a roll around here. There was a nice crunchiness and it was filling for a light lunch. Best to come at lunch to get things cheaper. It has a few specials to choose from. The restaurant is pretty small but there's no need for reservations because it's not busy most times.

Las Vegas , dragon and Hamachi rolls.

First time here. Based off the reviews I rolled the dice. My wife is a picky sushi eater. She only eats California rolls so I shouldn't listen to her but.......... Glad we stopped here. Really tasty miso soup. Steamed dumplings were delish. I opted for the Las Vegas Roll dragon roll and Hamachi. All were winners in my book. The Vegas roll was a new combo that I hadn't seen before and it hit the spot. We wil return

Excellent! Too bad they no longer offer AYCE (all you can eat option). I had 3 rolls and all were great. Even vegetable tempura was amazing. Maybe the highlight was that Jalapeno tempura Even with one server and pretty busy when I arrived he managed to bring everything promptly. Good location in plaza and easy parking.

With the bustling energy of the establishment clearly this sushi spot has a following. With the fish displayed in cases for patrons to see, the confidence in freshness won't disappoint. Priced reasonably, the food was certainly quality. Would have been a 5 experience had the noise level and service been a tad more attentive. Overall enjoyable experience and worth checking out!

I'm always leary of trying sushi places--I have my tried and true and usually stick with them. But we were in the area and I was tired and wanting sushi so we tried it out. It's very small, maybe like 5-6 tables? But they also seem to do a brisk take out business. My son ordered the salmon teriyaki plate, that came with a small miso soup and small salad with a sweet ginger dressing. The salmon was cooked perfectly and my son really enjoyed it. I ordered the 4 peice sushi appetizer and the AJ roll. The fish was fresh and the rice was cooked/seasoned well. The AJ roll with spicy salmon was tasty and not overly spicy from the wasabi mayo. The menu lists a lot of maki rolls, from the very basic to creative. There's a nice list of non-sushi items too like the teriyaki plates, udon, ramen and tempura. Friendly service, really quick too, felt a little rushed but I'd visit again.

Great quality. Good service. Four rolls was too much food for two of us. A great problem to have.

My friend and I both got sick after having the bento box for lunch here. My guess is that it was the California roll which tasted off.

Would recommend getting the lo mein with a different topping. We got takeout. The only complaint I have would be how the drinks were packaged. They put straws in the drinks and put plastic wrap to cover the tops (I assume to stop it from spilling) but I would've preferred putting the straws in myself. They also put the drinks in a brown, paper bag but filled it with ice (to keep the drinks cold I assume, which they were). The ice was melting and I didn't know there was ice in there with the drinks so there was a puddle on my floor and I spilled the melted ice water on myself when I lifted the bag. It wasn't a huge deal but thought I would mention in case anyone plans to buy drinks for takeout.

A loud obnoxious table of meatheads was behind us at dinner but the steak was truly the best I've ever had so one must endure. I had the filet with peppercorn and our shared sides and apps sampled were crab cakes, mashed potatoes, double baked potatoes, and brussel sprouts. All stellar.
