We decided to grab something to eat after going to Costco as a family. The owners were Korean and thought we'd give this place a try. We ordered shrimp fried rice and chicken katsu and both were really good. We drizzled some of their teriyaki sauce(don't overdo it bc it can get salty) over the fried rice and it made it even better. The fried rice was flavorful and the portion size was huge, enough to feed 2-3 ppl. The chicken katsu was juicy and portion size was also very large. All in all our kids liked the food very much. Lowkey the salad they provide is also really good and flavorful. Gave a nice crunch and refreshing while eating hot dishes. I gave it 4 stars because the food took a bit long to make, but it's also because it's made to order too. read more

My husband brought dinner home from here one night for us to try it and it was really good! In the old space where Al's Beef used to be, they are very nice people. I did carryout for us again and noted a few others picking up orders as well, although they do have seating if you wish to dine in. It smells amazing outside! The food was still hot when I got home and the teriyaki chicken was tender and flavorful both times and the portions were large. It comes with steamed rice and salad. (They have yakisoba and katsu dishes too.) I got the chicken/shrimp teriyaki combo for me and spicy beef with the fried rice combo for him. (Fried rice is an upgrade for $3). I have tried this place once before but that was take out and it was when they newly opened. And i thought it was just ok. Came back with soem girlfriends in between events and actually dined there. The foor is way better hot and fresh! I wouldndefinitely go back to try morr stuff now. Their food serving is huge and service was good. Parking is a bit of a challenge when in a big group. I love me some teriyaki so I was excited to see K Teriyaki on Touhy (where Al's Beef used to be). There's teriyaki, katsu, yakisoba, fried rice. You get a pretty large portion for the lunch size, which comes with rice (fried is extra), and stir fried vegs. The chicken was tender, no tiny pieces, and had a little bit of char, lightly sauced. Extra sauce costs extra. I would have liked a little more variety in the vegs, I got mostly cabbage. The lunch portion is not served on weekends but for the price, I thought it was a lot of food. As I said, I love teriyaki so this is a solid 4, but I'll add more when I come back and try more dishes. I also love me some katsu, so maybe I'll try that next. I'll be back. read more

I have been DYING to find a good teriyaki spot, love beef teriyaki.. was hopeful to try this place until I saw the meat when it arrived.. it had these big orange blobs of gelatinous hard fat that looked like clusters of fish eggs..it was covered in these grotesque blobs all over.. and honestly I'm someone who normally loves the fatty pieces on beef/steak when they're rendered nicely.. I have never seen this kind of fat on meat before. I ended up sending photos to DoorDash of the meat.. which I'll post here too.. but yeah, I genuinely wonder if their meat is always like this or what, I was repulsed. read more

K Teriyaki is good, though sometimes I get sticker shock. My personal favorite is the spicy pork, and my kids always go for the teriyaki beef. The regular portion is easily enough for both kids, which makes sense considering it's $20 with white rice, and $3 more to upgrade to fried rice. Though the prices keep me away at dinnertime, the lunch special helps bridge that gap. read more

I went in for pickup last week and while there are some growing pains in this place, I must say that the food is very good! We ordered online which was ok. There isn't really alot of detail there. It told us that it would take 30 minutes to make and pick it up. No problem. I got there and found out that they never got the order. I had to wait an additional 20 minutes. They gave us some extra food and apologized for the delay multiple times. While I was annoyed at this communication breakdown, they did try to make it up which is better than most! As for the food, it was surprisingly good. I went with the combo of teriyaki shrimp and katsu chicken. Both were excellent and huge portions. Really, one plate is more than enough for two people. We also got shrimp tempura, potstickers, and egg rolls. Honestly, they were the highlight of the meal, especially the shrimp tempura which was perfectly cooked and had enough seasoning. The only real downside of this place is that its pretty expensive. Now, you get ALOT for what you ordered, but as a fast food place, expect to spend about $30 a person with drinks, apps, etc. Still, the food was excellent so I am sure to be back. Think of this more like your local Asian carryout place vs Panda Express in both speed and quality (though I do like me some PE) read more

My first visit to K Teriyaki was a pleasant one, as the owners were very welcoming and joyful to talk to, with a large dining space inside! The man at the counter took the time to explain the menu and their offerings, also pointing out the most popular dishes and how spicy their "spicy dishes" were (noted as a "medium" spice). I decided to order the Combo teriyaki plate (1/2 spicy beef, 1/2 spicy chicken), with white rice, and a side order of the gyoza. The food was made fresh to order, and it was all very flavorful. The chicken and beef were tender, the rice had a nice textural-stickiness to it, and the portion of the combo plate was quite large (I will have the other half for a second meal later). The overall spice level was indeed a "medium" spice, which was offset a bit by the sweet teriyaki sauce - a great combination of sweet and spicy. Be mindful that the price may seem a bit high at first ($19.99 for the combo plate), but it does appropriately match the large portion and the quality of the food that you will receive. You also get a side salad with the plate, which is another bonus. When it comes down to it, I never mind paying a little bit more for a good portion of higher quality food, and that is what you will receive from K Teriyaki. Additionally, I took my food to-go, and they provide a very nice container with separate slots for the rice and proteins (a nice addition to the great meal). I will definitely be back again to try different menu items. K Teriyaki gets a well-deserved 5/5 from me! read more

Oh my God. Since moving to Chicago 13 years ago I have searched for Seattle style teriyaki high and low. Tried all the recipes. Nothing scratched that itch. And then lo and behold I opened up my Uber eats app yesterday to see that a new restaurant had been added...K Teriyaki. Could it be? A teriyaki joint run by Koreans as all good teriyaki places should be (don't come at me, this is the rule for all good teriyaki in the PNW). Checked Yelp and all the pictures were promising. I immediately submitted my order, shocked that delivery was available to Chicago from Niles, and waited. Delivery took over an hour, as expected. Food was packaged neatly, but honestly it could be on a paper plate and thrown in a sack and I wouldn't care if it was my beloved Seattle style teriyaki. Ripped into it and holy shit it was perfect. Perfectly charred thighs with the sweet teriyaki sauce that is almost a glaze. The salad dressing that is mixed into the rice with teriyaki sauce. Heavenly. I immediately sent my husband these pics, singing the praises of K Teriyaki. The portions are generous, so I was able to save him some and his reaction was the same. The oh my God This is amazing. He immediately texted his friend who is from the Seattle area as well. We just ordered it for lunch for the second day in a row. I hope this place thrives. I will be ordering from them an ungodly amount. If delivery stops I'll be crushed, but I'll drive from Chicago to Niles just for this teriyaki. read more

We've had both the thigh and the breast, and we preferred the thigh, definitely more flavorful. The meal is enough for 2 people for sure. The side salad served with your meal is fresh, and the dressing is outstanding. I really enjoy the dressing, it seems to be a sesame based dressing. We had the yakisoba noodles as well, they're tasty and come with a lot of fresh vegetables. I wish they used a bit less oil though.
