The food was great very busy place on Saturday I would recommend to reserve with more time than usual we were sitting almost 30 mnts late and at the end we were late for our concert:(

Classic steak restaurant with a great vibe. The service was excellent and the crowd was prominently tourists. The food was great and bill was actually very reasonable. I highly recommend going this iconic place a try.

We celebrated my mom's birthday at Gibson's in Rosemont on Saturday, December 6. We had a late afternoon reservation. Our waitress, Leslie, was absolutely wonderful, accommodating, friendly, and provided exceptional customer service! The food was 10/10 as always! We love coming here for holidays and special occasions.

I honestly did not expect to enjoy my experience at Gibsons. I had some friends that invited me to come with them so I did. I hate stuffy/fancy restaurants and I'm not a steak eater so I assumed that I was doomed. I was so, so wrong. When you walk in they have a wall of photos of famous patrons that have visited over the years. There's a very crowded bar area up front that a lot of people were waiting to sit at. We were able to be seated rather quickly even though the restaurant was very busy. They start you off with bread and a bowl of BBQ potato chips, which I thought was incredibly random. These aren't store bought chips. They were obviously made fresh and ours were still warm. The thing you have to understand about Gibsons is that while the prices are high, everything you get is enormous. We ordered a sweet potato appetizer and it was the size of a coconut. My club sandwich was at least 3-4 sandwiches with a large portion of wonderfully seasoned fries. My friends didn't miss out on steak like I did and they were quite happy with their meals. The service was absolutely impeccable. I can't remember our waiter but he was a nice young man with a mustache who was so helpful and patient with all of our questions (including what to do with the lemons that came with the hot towels after finishing). We are already talking about coming back on our next visit.

An Ode to Culinary Sanctuary: Gibson's Steakhouse, Rosemont (If Yelp allowed 11/10, I'd give it.) To step into Gibson's on River Road is to walk not into a restaurant, but into a fully realized philosophy of hospitality. I came in expecting a good burger and a great steak. What I encountered instead was something closer to a cathedral of service. What sets Gibson's apart isn't simply the food -- although the cuts are extraordinary, the portions generous, and the execution flawless. What elevates this place into the realm of the unforgettable is the attentiveness of the staff. Their service isn't transactional; it's intuitive. It feels like they're practicing a kind of hospitality that borders on art. Need barbecue sauce? It arrives before you ask. Want a refill? Your Coke appears as if summoned. Every gesture feels anticipatory rather than reactive -- as though they're listening not just to what you say, but to what your experience wants to be. This is the kind of service that transforms a meal into something bigger: the feeling that your presence actually matters to the people caring for you. In an age of rushed interactions and declining standards, Gibson's stands like a beacon of what hospitality should be. The ambiance is classic American steakhouse -- warm, lively, polished. The staff work together like a perfectly tuned orchestra. The energy in the room is alive, confident, and welcoming. It's a place that respects both your time and your appetite. Gibson's Rosemont is, simply, exceptional. This is hospitality elevated to its highest form. Return inevitable. Five stars insufficient.

We had a work happy hour here, and the private room with its own bar was great! I had a spicy margarita, which had a weird taste of perfume so I switched to wine. The sliders and pigs in a blanket were a popular passed app. We then sat for dinner, and the oysters and shrimp cocktail were fresh and tasty. For my entree, I got the filet mignon and a ceasar salad. The filet was disappointingly a bit dry even though it was cooked medium rare. My ceasar salad was average too. The fries and Brussels were nice sides with the meal. Overall, our experience was great, and gibsons is always a good time.

Service is amazing here. The whole staff is wonderful. Unfortunately, my grandmother fell and slipped because the floor was wet. Staff were very apologetic about it. Gibson's is known for having a good selection on good quality beef cuts. They even offer grass fed meat from Australia. They also have a good amount of sides. I found that Gibson's is an old traditional steak house. I would not compare it to Texas Roadhouse or Outback. The quality here is a lot better. It is old and tradition;can tell by the sides they have to offer. Their food is excellent, but it didn't "wow" me. Again, nothing wrong with their food, but I found it alright. They cooked everything right per request. There is so much competition in Chicago so this would not be my number 1 pick. It is quite expensive here as well. I wouldn't think it is worth the price. Everyone seems to love it! It is always busy.

I didn't get pics of ours side or steaks but the meal and service were excellent. The desserts are big enough to share with the whole table and we had 7 people. Our steaks were all cooked perfectly as ordered and very tender but be prepared, beef prices are at record highs and so are the prices here. I'm sure we will return next year when we return for an annual event at the Embassy Suites

Another wonderful dinner at Gibsons Rosemount. Had a special made sea tower, lobster for the table, fillets, New York strip, all delicious, service was on point with Joe, but all the wait staff are professional and very knowledgeable.

This is an excellent steak house in walking distance to the convention center. They have multiple prime steak options. I had a 14 oz filet and it was cooked perfectly. For sides the table shared mushrooms, asparagus, sautéed spinach, and brussel sprouts. The food was timely despite the restaurant zing packed. It was not so loud that we couldn't hold a conversation. The servers were attentive but not intrusive. I'll be back.

Classic steakhouse high end experience with great service and personality. Prices are reasonable for the genre. Steak is 4 out of 5. Their ice cream pie dessert is symbolic of the experience; big wow factor, fun, good experience ... taste is not at the same level. But memorable nonetheless.

My friend and i ate here based on the reviews and will say i would normally give this 2 stars BUT…read morethe service was so outstanding that I bumped it up to 3. First impression walking in was NOT great. We immediately smelled what can only be described as a VERY DIRTY bathroom smell. Other than the smell which we couldn't stop smelling until we ate and had some wine. The server was great to let us know that it was half off bottles of wine. And since the glass we initially wanted they didn't have this was a great option for us. We weren't able to finish the bottle so the server closed it up and sealed it in a bag for us to take with us. (Tuscan blend which was delicious) We ordered the Lobster Bisque to share to start with. The server/kitchen were kind enough to split it for us into two bowls. Overall the soup was good but NOT great. Then we ordered a bone in Ribeye (22oz) which came with crispy new potatoes and some some sautéed brocollini. We ordered the steak Medium Rare, it came out Medium + and since we were never checked in with on the temperature we ate it anyhow. The flavor was good but definitely far overcooked. The crispy new potatoes were perfectly crispy and the broccolini was sautéed and cooked very well. At the end of the day the service saved our experience. BUT because of the smell and the mis-cooked steak we would not return.

Had the burratta & fig, porkbelly brushetta, and a flatbread as apps. Loved it all. porkbelly was so tender, the burratta & fig was a good balance of sweet and savory. Needless to say, the flatbread was a hit with the kids as well. Other notable dishes were the beef shwarma and the crispy duck. Ambiance- LOVE it! It can be fancy if you want, it can be more casual if you want. Enjoyed the church vibes mixed with modern touch. Very well decorated. The outdoor area is so cute, esp overlooking the lake. We sat indoors but still a wonderful ambiance. Bonus: they have a changing table in the women's bathroom. Sorry, could not confirm in the men's. Service- this was definitely impressive. You don't always get service especially at some of these well known restaurants bc why would you have to have good service? We had made reservations online and it was initially indoor. They were so awesome about switching it to outdoor with out much trouble even if we were 10 minutes late. But the air quality was so bad so once we were about to get settled we requested for indoor again. There was only smiles and a happy to help attitude and got us settled. I want to highlight our waitress, Ciara (Sierra?). With a party of 9, she was so thoughtful of our orders esp for the kids. I mean, when we ordered lemonade for them she even asked if she wants us to water it down and as parents we were like YES! They do not need that much sugar LOL! She was just overall so warm and communicative. She checked in and made sure we were comfortable. Her smile and pleasant attitude made it easier when we had three little ones wanting to walk around after eating and trying to keep them entertained at a table.

My husband and I chose Foxtail on the Lake for our five-year wedding anniversary because we wanted…read morewhat we hoped would be one of the most memorable and romantic dining experiences in the area. We intentionally made this our "no budget" celebration, expecting exceptional food, service, and hospitality. Instead, it turned into one of the most disappointing restaurant experiences we've ever had. Our reservation was for 7:00 p.m. on July 2, and despite having a reservation, we waited more than 20 minutes to be seated. During that time, we watched people walk in, greet someone they appeared to know, and be seated immediately at the bar while we continued to wait. My husband had gone out of his way to ensure our anniversary would be acknowledged. He noted on the reservation that it was our five-year anniversary, called ahead before our dinner to confirm the restaurant was aware, and even checked with the host stand when we arrived. We weren't asking for anything extravagant--just the kind of small acknowledgment that many restaurants happily provide for guests celebrating a milestone. Nothing happened. There was no congratulations, no acknowledgment from our server, no candle with dessert, no handwritten note, nothing. We even ordered dessert ourselves, and it arrived exactly as if it were any ordinary Tuesday night. The service only added to the disappointment. Our server was curt, rarely checked on us despite our ordering two appetizers, two entrées, dessert, and several rounds of drinks, and never made us feel welcomed or cared for. For a restaurant positioning itself as a destination for special occasions, the level of hospitality simply wasn't there. Unfortunately, the food didn't make up for it. Considering the price point, we expected much more. Most dishes were surprisingly bland and underseasoned, and nothing we ordered stood out as memorable. At the end of the evening, my husband politely mentioned everything to the host stand. The response was essentially that our anniversary "must have gotten lost in communication," followed by an offer of a dessert to take home. By that point, the moment had already passed. A boxed dessert cannot replace a once-in-a-lifetime celebration that was overlooked from start to finish. No manager came over to speak with us, no one took ownership of the experience, and there was no meaningful attempt to make things right. This wasn't just dinner--it was our fifth wedding anniversary, a milestone we'll never get to celebrate again. We chose Foxtail because we trusted it would deliver an exceptional experience worthy of the occasion. Instead, we left feeling ignored, disappointed, and wondering why we spent so much money on an evening that felt like an afterthought. If you're looking for a restaurant to celebrate an anniversary, proposal, birthday, or other meaningful milestone, I cannot recommend Foxtail on the Lake based on our experience. There are too many restaurants that understand hospitality and know how to make guests feel special. Sadly, this wasn't one of them.

I grabbed a seat at the bar and waited about 10 minutes before the hostess came over. She politely let me know I needed to remove my hat or leave, even though I was tucked away in the corner. No big deal--I took it off... besides the inevitable hat hair! I was hoping to enjoy a glass of Moët or Dom Pérignon, but they don't offer either by the glass or in splits. The bartender recommended their Cava, and even let me sample it, which I appreciated. The only downside was the tasting glass had just come out of the dishwasher and was still warm, which took away from the experience. I ended up ordering the Cava, and it was a pleasant choice. The bartender recommended the Ahi Tuna Tartare, and it was easily the highlight of the meal. Beautiful presentation with vibrant colors, fresh ahi tuna, creamy avocado, sweet mango, and crispy wonton chips. Every bite was fresh, balanced, and packed with flavor. I would absolutely order it again. For my entrée, I ordered the Red King Crab Legs (half pound) for $88, served with garlic butter and garlic mashed potatoes. The crab itself was very good, but the plate leaned a little too heavily on the garlic for my taste. I asked for regular melted butter instead, and while the bartender happily brought it out, it unfortunately arrived cold. Between the cold butter and all the garlic, I didn't end up finishing the dish. The live piano music was a wonderful touch. She was incredibly talented and added to the upscale atmosphere throughout the evening. The service wasn't the best, but it was solid. There were a few small misses throughout the meal, but nothing that completely ruined the experience. I've been fortunate enough to enjoy seafood all over the country, and while Truluck's is a quality restaurant, I'd still rank Joe's Stone Crab in Chicago, Mama's Fish House in Paia, Hawaii, 555 East Steakhouse in Long Beach, and Swan Oyster Depot in San Francisco ahead of it. Overall, it was an okay dining experience. Nothing was bad, but nothing truly stood out enough to make me want to come back. I'm glad I gave it a try, but based on my personal experience, it just didn't live up to the expectations I had for the price point. 4 out of 5 stars. #TheFoodie99

Some places are easy to find... and others feel like a hidden gem. How did we get here?

The…read moreambiance of the restaurant was genuinely nice, but unfortunately that's where the positives end. The service was shockingly poor, and the food didn't come close to justifying the price. To put things into perspective, the restaurant only had about six tables occupied, so it wasn't busy at all. Despite that, it took 30 minutes just to place drink orders. After that, our server disappeared and never returned to take our appetizer or entrée order. We spent another 45 minutes trying to get her attention, at times clearly waving in her direction and even feeling like she was looking right at us, but she still didn't come over. She only came back after a long wait, and not because she was checking on us. When the food eventually arrived, it was underwhelming at best. I ordered the fettuccine Alfredo with chicken, which was bland and came with only a few small shreds of chicken mixed in, definitely not what you would expect from a nicer Italian restaurant. We also did not receive bread until we specifically asked, drinks were never refilled, and our server never once checked on us. After finishing our meals, we sat with empty plates and glasses for about 30 minutes before a busser, not our server, finally cleared the table. We then waited another 15 to 20 minutes before flagging down someone else to order dessert. That person only took one order and walked away without addressing the rest of the table. Eventually, flagged down another staff member who took our full dessert order, but after waiting another 30 minutes with nothing arriving, we decided to leave. The overall attitude from the staff was indifferent at best, and it genuinely felt like no one cared about the customer experience. Even when we spoke to the manager, there was little sense of concern or urgency. It was a very strange interaction. The only redeeming part of the evening was that, after significant pushback, a portion of our bill was discounted. Still, the entire experience lasting nearly three hours was incredibly frustrating and disappointing. I would not return or recommend this place.

She walked away and then a gentleman walks up and literally asked us what we wanted. Food, drinks, what? I said, nothing....we don't want anything and we left. I understand (and presume due to the proximity to the airport) that a lot of their clientele are business travelers looking primarily for drinks at the bar. But my wife and I were dressed down and they just assumed we just wanted to eat at the bar. It just rubbed me the wrong way. We left and won't be coming back. No thank you, we don't "want" anything that badly.

Service was excellent and the food selection was perfect for those that are vegetarian or meat lovers. A few things to pass: 1. Parking. Park is the hotels' parking lot, take a ticket and drive up to the 4th to 11th level. Bring your ticket with you and the restaurant will validate it after you've eaten. 2. Order an appetiser to share and consider one of their whiskeys. It's a nice selection, they had a bottle of Bookers while I was there. I had the double bean burgers d it was excellent. I also had an order of the truffle fries. Liked them here because they were not soaked in truffle oil lije I've had elsewhere before. Big restaurant so even with a nice size party you don't likely need a reservation. Even though we were tempted to go to Capital Grill, right next door, this was a very good choice!!

My husband went once before me and raved about the food and service he had there about a month ago…read more We just went last weekend and I agree - what a neighborhood gem! We started with one of their Westco margaritas - and then we both ordered the Chuletson Con Westco (rib-eye with dinner salad and bone marrow). Wow -- just wow -- the steak was so nicely seasoned that you didn't need steak sauce. And the bone marrow with it -- just decadent - heavenly! The only area they may want to work on is to have a broader wine list as they were pretty limited on the red selection while we were there. Lovely service -- and the more leisurely pace found in a traditional steak place. Would love to go again later this Summer!

We ordered the octopus, patatas bravas, and the steak meal for two. The octopus was extremely overcooked and chewy, and the steak platter itself just felt underwhelming overall. Also... how does a Mexican steakhouse not provide tortillas with a steak platter? That honestly shocked me. The biggest confusion of the night was the patatas bravas situation. Our waitress forgot the dish entirely, then later brought over mashed potatoes and said they were "on the house." I was genuinely confused because I thought maybe this was their version of patatas bravas due to the seasoning on top. When I asked about it, she realized she accidentally brought mashed potatoes instead of the actual dish. She apologized and eventually brought the real patatas bravas, but even those tasted oddly sweet and missed the mark for us. To their credit, the staff did try to make up for it with complimentary shots, and the cocktails were honestly the best part of the experience. The space itself is gorgeous and has a very upscale vibe, but the food lacked cohesion and flavor for the price point. Sadly, not somewhere I'd personally return to.
