I've been to Nashville, but I haven't been to Islamabad (the capital of Pakistan), but something tells me they're fusing the two flavors in the right way. It just tastes good. And judging from the never ending flow of delivery orders churning out of their kitchen, not to mention every seat in the house packed on a Saturday afternoon, sounds like other people think so too. I've now been here twice to try various things on their menu, and while the Nashville hot chicken sandwich is indeed delicious, it's the dhamaka fries that do it for me. The tikka sauce, mint chutney, pickles, cole slaw AND fried chicken make this the stuff of drunchies dreams. On another visit, I really indulged with a fried chicken sandwich between two pieces of waffles. They even provide syrup to dunk this monster into. Something like this makes me feel too rapacious, so I think I'll stick to the maple wings or something in the future. The staff is a delight, so you can't get mad at them even when the food takes a while to come out. I highly recommend ordering a milkshake while you're here too-- the rose flavor is the best.
Namkeen in Williamsburg is fried chicken joint serving spicy chicken with Pakistani flavors. We went for the Tikkaville sandwich prepared with tikka sauce, coleslaw, pickled onion and mint chutney and an order of spicy maple wings and masala fries. The Tikkaville may be our new favorite chicken sandwich. It effortlessly blends the best of Nashville hot chicken with Pakistani flavors. At a super affordable price point, we are hoping they open a location closer to Brooklyn Heights
The food was absolutely phenomenal! The staff so lovely. Everyone working tonight was so nice and good energy! We are not from here and I'll definitely will be thinking of this place when we go back home! The music they were playing was so fun. They kept my baby entertained and so sweet to her as well! Not stingy with their sauce! Major bonus!!
I was introduced to Namkeen earlier this year and have had cravings for an encore of their fried chicken from time to time. Namkeen only uses all natural, hormone and antibiotic-free halal chicken to make their Pakistani version of Nashville hot chicken. Since my initial visit, I feel like the chicken has gotten better and the tikka sauce has gotten more spicy which is a plus for me. I took off the top bun because it didn't add anything to the sandwich and wasn't giving brioche as the menu stated. The accompaniments of coleslaw, pickled onions and mint chutney DID complement everything. I would recommend that you stop in if you're in the area!
Wish the tikkaville sandwich was a little spicier bc the mint chutney overpowers. Overall, it's a great value sandwich - a little messy to share though
The food is underwhelming and overpriced. It's a Tik Tok aesthetic restaurant. Keep walking down the street. I ordered a sandwich, fries, and a bottle of water. It came up to $23. All the food comes out individually at different times. The chicken on the Nashville Sandwich is not seasoned on the inside. The sauce and seasoning on the outside can not save it. All of the french fries were different sizes, almost like they purchased them from the supermarket for personal use. The macaroni had no cheese and was dry. Just nasty work. Spicy Maple Wings had the same issue. No flavor in the meat. They need to marinate or brine the chicken with more than hopes and dreams. The staff was cool. They were helpful and answered my questions.
Be sure if you're looking for a WONDERFUL SMILING staff and GreAT food . The chicken is special and the WAFFLE is STUPENDOUS ! Clean pleasant spot in WILLIAMSBURG to eat with your friends or family . There is no need to wait and think about this one, the food here is ridiculous on so many levels. Some of the choices on some of their menu items are questionable, but due to me modifying, it made for a massive tastebud experience that I hope to experience again real soon. The Clucking Waffle Sandwich reminds me of a few waffle sandwiches I have seen and tasted around the country, but I modified this one to suit my needs. It comes with a jalapeño and cheddar waffle, but I swapped it with a regular waffle, and honestly, it was the right move. The amount of flavor you get in each bite of this insane sandwich is, for lack of a better word, insane. The waffle is just the first level. Then you get the juicy brininess of the chicken, along with the spice of it. Then you get hit with the cool coleslaw to mellow things out, followed the tangy sauce, lastly getting a strong hit of brine by the pickle. That is the key, the pickle is the reason why you will not be in the bathroom pooping your brains out after ingesting this enormous sandwich. The pickle allows this whole sandwich to settle everything down and absorb all the contact. Everything is done in the right amount, but yet tastes of reckless abandon. If this is how they do sandwiches, then the rest of the menu should fall into place quite nicely.
Namkeen is a delicious fast casual dining spot where you get great bang for your buck and most likely you won't be able to finish your food, for good reason. I would say that the service is a mixed bag however. The party next to me had their order completely forgotten and they waited 30 minutes for their Anday Wala burger before having to remind the cashier about it. My clucking chicken sandwich was big, saucy and flavorful. Next time I would ask to cut back on the sauce, but overall it was an enjoyment to eat.
Great place for fried chicken! I came on a Monday night and there weren't that many people dining in so plenty of seats open. It's a more casual place. The workers were very friendly and our food came out quickly. We ordered three dishes: * Clucking Waffle Sandwich - 10/10 - The batter on the chicken was very crunchy even though it was thick. The dry spice rub was decently spicy and I only got mild. I loved that the chicken was still juicy. I wish there was a bit more slaw and pickles to balance it out. My favorite parts of the sandwich were the chipotle aioli and the jalapeño and cheddar waffle. Both were so delicious! * Dhamaka Fries - 8.5/10 - The fries were not as crispy as i would have liked, but the chicken was crispy. The tikka sauce paired perfectly with the mint chutney, and I liked how much sauce they loaded on. * Tikkaville Sandwich - 9/10 - The flavor profile of this sandwich is very similar to the fries, so I would recommend getting one or the other. Overall, I would definitely come again if I was craving fried chicken. I get sudden cravings for their cheddar waffle too. The portions are also quite big.
REALLY loved Namkeen! Fried chicken, Nashville heat, and Pakistani flavors! Wow! What a combo! I really liked all the different fun ways they use the fried chicken. I'm a spice girl and I love that they have a variety of spice levels. All the staff were super sweet, welcoming, and helpful. The restaurant was very clean and well kept. I like the open view of the kitchen and serving are. Even with the very busy night they were having, I noticed the kitchen and serving area was still very well kept. I took my order to go and even after a 45 minute drive home, the food was still really fresh and so good! I was so torn between what to choose, so I ordered a few different items. -Clucking Waffle Sandwich (hot-blaow spice level). I don't even like waffles but when I saw it was jalapeño & cheddar?? Umm SOLD! This is easily a 10/10 item! The portion is huge! I was stuffed with just half of it. I LOVE spice so the heat level was easily manageable for me but it definitely has a kick. I had 3 other people try it and they all were dying and running for water. The pickles, coleslaw, and aioli complimented it very well. - Masala fries. I wasn't really impressed with this. It was just regular fries with extra salty seasoning. 3/5 -Oreo Cookies & Cream milkshake: thick and creamy and not overly sweet. 5/5 -Chicken Tikka Mac & Cheese. Again, another really huge serving. Was not able to eat more than a bite after the half of waffle sandwich. I give this a solid 4/5. The mac & cheese was nice and creamy and the chicken added a nice crunch to it but the tikka sauce was very rich and a tad overpowering. -Nashville Sandwich (medium- knees weak heat level). Again, really filling and the pickles, coleslaw, and aioli complimented it very well. Easy 5/5. I also wanted to purchase the flavored sodas but I forgot and the line was way too long to go back lol next time for sure! Will CERTAINLY be back to try some more items.
Namkeen is a decent spot for casual dining, but it definitely left me a bit underwhelmed. It wasn't bad, but I felt like it promised more flavors than it actually did. I got the tikkaville sandwich ($12) and the pataka fries with fried chicken ($10). Honestly I was expecting a much stronger "tikka" flavor on the sandwich but it lacked flavor. It wasn't spicy at all and almost felt more like a spicy mayo sauce. The chicken was crispy and juicy but needed more sauce on the sandwich. Overall it just tasted like an ok chicken sandwich rather than an indian inspired chicken sandwich. The fries were honestly pretty good and were smothered in toppings. Again, it's the same sauce that's on the sandwich which has a sweeter flavor rather than spicy but it tasted better on the fries. Honestly if you're in the area I think it's worth a try because their other sandwiches look pretty good but I don't think i'd be back.
Pretty good halal fried chicken shop that's open until midnight! The highlight was their chicken and waffles, the waffles were crisp on the outside yet fluffy on the inside. The sweetness of the waffle + powdered sugar + syrup paired really well with the savory chicken tenders. The only con is that the serving size is pretty small especially at a $16 price point, but that's probably just Williamsburg things. We went around 9:45pm before a night out, thankfully we got there right before a rush. Our waffles came out in less than 10 minutes but they did forget our fries, so that took another 20 minutes. Namkeen is located nearby a bunch of bars in Williamsburg. Lots of people started to enter the shop around 10pm, the line started to go out their door. They also had a lot of online orders to fulfill which could add to your wait time.
Casual spot with an interesting menu! Tried the tikkaville sandwich and everything was very tasty - the sauce paired really nicely with all the toppings. My only (minor) qualm is that the meat is a chicken tender aka white meat - would be lovely if one could choose dark meat. read more

Food is good. Service is HORRIBLE. AND the restaurant is unclean. The staff was in pajamas and satin bonnets and took ages to prepare a simple order. And there were dozens of fruit flies in the dining area, buzzing around people as they ate their meals... A friend and I ordered takeout - two grilled cheeses and fries. Her meal took a while to be ready, but mine took far longer. I have no idea why the same order would take so long, but in total, we sat and waited for 45 minutes for my sandwich. We actually walked out without my fries because they still weren't ready. I was just tired of waiting in the middle of a fruit fly infestation. An employee gave me a refund for my fries and we left. He actually chased us down the block to hand me a free order of fries and some coupons for my trouble, which was kind of him. However, I guess I won't get to go back there and use those coupons anytime soon because the restaurant is temporarily closed. I walked by today and the sign posted said it was closed by order of the "Commissioner of Health and Mental Hygiene." Make of that what you will. read more
Loved the chicken and waffles. They were so freaking good and totally appreciate that it's halal. The chicken was seasoned well and fried to perfection. I ordered mild but it had a kick so I didn't need to add hot sauce like I usually do. The mild title might be a bit misleading. The waffles were fluffy and delicious. I've eaten many a chicken and waffles and Namkeen's was one of my favorite's. The chicken tikka mac and cheese was pretty good. I'd order it again to share. The chicken tikka and sauce were better than the mac and cheese itself but together they were good. Order at the counter and food is brought to the table. Service isn't super friendly, but is efficient. Parking is hell, but it's Williamsburg so that's expected. I'd spin the block a couple of times for a good chicken and waffle. Had to try this place after seeing a tik tok about it, tried the chicken tikka Mac and cheese. Did not love the flavor of the mint chutney but still giving it a 5/5 as it had a ton of flavor and was something different & creative. Employees were super nice and had no wait :) read more
I so wanted to love this place. I don't like negative reviews, I prefer not to write any to be honest. I will call this constructive criticism rather than negative because, the word itself is harsh and I steer away from negativity. Hopefully this will not be taken as such & rather something to work on. This weekend I went to visit Namkeen's. I was super excited to try a few items. The place was almost full, a few tables were available. My husband and I quickly looked over the menu. We quickly selected the chicken tikka I believe it is called over Mac & cheese, and the chicken tikka over fries and some cokes. We noticed that our table was pretty dirty so my husband asked I am assuming perhaps a manager, and he glance over at the table where my husband pointed. 20 minutes passed no one came to our table to wipe it, or at least offer us items to clean it ourselves. About another additional 5 minutes later our food came out, we had to stop the employee from putting our food on the dirty table. The employee placed our food on the counter, cleaned up a few backed up items off other tables, came back cleaned our table, switch gloves which is a plus, and brought our food over about another 4-5 mins later. About the food itself: Our food was brought out with no utensils. I had to go to the counter and ask for them. I was told they were behind me on the shelf above the trash, however, there were no forks there so, I had to return to the busy counter to ask for forks. My food was really good but lukewarm not hot at all. My husband's Mac & cheese was super cold, no like really cold. I took another trip to the counter again to informed them that his Mac & cheese was cold. A few mins later they gave him another Mac & cheese cup, not a replacement for the actual meal we paid for with the chicken Tikka. Now upset we he had to take a few pieces of chicken, and put it on the single serving of Mac & cheese cup. At this point there was no point in further complaining because we saw what was going on around us. We observed a young lady waiting seated at the table next to us, as her partner tried to order for about 10 minutes or so, no one turned around because they were busy tending to the out going delivery bags. The man became so frustrated that he called over his girl & just left because, he was never acknowledged, as he tried to place an order. The entire staff was completely engulfed in tending to out going orders that in person patrons were neglected. In person paying customers should acknowledged. The delivery button can be cut off temporarily to tend to in person clients. My husband couldn't finish his meal which we paid for because, it was not what he paid for & it turned into semi warm chicken with a side of Mac. After we left we went up the block so, he can purchase another meal elsewhere. The food is very good but the attention to paying patrons is almost non existent. Please pay attention to the needs of your in person customers to build revisiting customers. If food is delivered cold the person can reheat it. The person dining on site can not. read more
I have had this on my list since they opened and I am so glad I was in the neighborhood and able to test it out. Cute spot with seating, cute decor and nice staff. I grabbed a chicken sandwich, some tenders and their dhamaka fries and I was not disappointed! The tenders are thick! The crispiness is just right and the seasoning is perfect! The dhamaka fries, I mean....fried chicken and fries with sauce and the perfect combination of seasoning? Literally the best snack out there, it was so good! I also tried their sandwich and it was great- if you want to avoid the carbs the tenders will hit the spot! Food is delicious! Customer service is somewhat lackluster. think the chicken and waffles was the winner! The spicy maple wings were awesome and the chicken tikka mac & cheese was decadent and delicious! I think I could've used a portable mini-defibrillator after this meal! Thank God we were sharing! Love all the bathroom accoutrements, decor and Urdu/Pakistani stickers on the hand dryer! Other than the name and the bathroom there's not much Pakistani culture that I could detect or notice... definitely a great place to hit after the bars late at night or if you're trying to get over a hangover the next day! Maybe me not eating meat doesn't make me the best reviewer of this place, but I was still a fan of the tikka flavored mac and cheese. The sauces layered on the mac were pretty flavorful and the mac itself was quite rich. I wish there were more options for me at the place, but I could come back here for this! I found out about this place through a YouTube channel called DevourPower. Since iI love all things chicken I had to try it. Everything was delicious. The French fries were really delicious. The staff was friendly the price was reasonable. The restaurant had a nice atmosphere. I recommend this place. read more

This location is new. They have a few other locations all over but this one in Williamsburg recently opened. Very clean inside. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. The food is very filling and like nothing I've seen before. They have the best Nashville style food, and it's all HALAL! For those who only eat halal like myself, this is a huge win. read more

service was amazing! didn't catch his name but he was working on a thursday afternoon and deserves a raise. he went out of his way to offer my boyfriend a hot maple sauce, which he didn't have to but elevated the fried chicken so much. food came out super quick and was very solid. fries we loved but couldn't finish :( read more

I don't think so, their wings are pre battered and ready to fry - I would assume their other chicken options are like that too
