I'm not in this neighborhood often so I knew I had to go with their most popular sandwich, the FDNY. Like everyone else, I first saw these guys online reppin' the deli. I have many of my friends who moved down south so when they see I'm at a viral spot, I'm glad to tell them about my experience. Anthony & Son Panini Shoppe is a typical New York deli but a little more bougie with TVs playing the podcast on a loop. I liked the large menu board explaining all of the sandwiches. I'm going to order my sandwich and head back to Ft Hamilton. There are lots of great sandwich choices, it's my first time here so my order will be be the FDNY: A huge hero stuffed with fresh fried chicken cutlets, melted mozzarella and the famous vodka sauce on garlic bread. Total banger! I'm glad I ordered the sandwich, chicken cutlet parm is my go to sandwich. The next day, I see a video with Sabino making the FDNY with a guy from Italy. They stuffed the FDNY sandwich with pepperoni? The cashier at the register, I explained to her my order. Mr Anthony stepped up and I said, I saw the sandwich online? He said oh yeah, he instructs the deli man to make the sandwich with the extra ingredients. I take a picture and send it to my cousins husband in Myrtle Beach. I was very excited to check out this place. The sandwiches were good, but if I compare them to Parisi, I still prefer Parisi. We ordered two sandwiches, the Matt & Steve 2.0 and the El Chapo. They were not bad but I think the Matt & Steve could have used more vodka sauce. They gave a lot of chicken cutlets which was nice. The El Chapo was pretty good. The pulled chipotle chicken was not as spicy as I originally thought it would be which was a good thing. For dessert, we had the tres leches cake and banana pudding. Both were moist but very sweet. I would skip this spot. Don't let the videos on instagram trick you like they did me. The "Brooklyn" chopped cheese is an over priced, over hyped, un whelming sandwich. The video that caught my attention was a bait and switch .. What you get in person is far from advertised and for $20 a sandwich I was expecting gourmet. What you got you can see below dose not match the screen shot from their social media. This felt very much like a bait and switch like they go all out for influencers and give us the regular guys half ass. I would check bodega truck or bodega city. I've been patronizing them for years on. My trips back home. Large array of sandwiches and paninis using fresh and gourmet ingredients. Portions are decent but overpriced imo - averaging $20 a sandwich. Recommend the anthony & son panini - chicken cutlet isn't dry, a good layer of fresh mozzarella with balsamic glaze and vegetables. Great proportions of ingredients and left you full. Pretty good spot , huge sandwich variety , the Fdny was pretty good and I added the onions onto it as well. But &1.50 to add onions really ? That more like a condiment it's not a meat or cheese so that I didn't like .50 cents maybe is ok. Also the side of the bread for hero's is smaller then normal , fresh but smaller for Sure . Anthony & Son has HUGE sandwiches packed full of quality ingredients, all at a decent price around $20 per hero/panini. I had the Anthony & Daughter, it was great. Fresh burrata, a delicious fig jam, and a nice balsamic glaze to offset the salty prosciutto. Really delicious. It's a deli, not really meant for sit down meals, but there are a few benches outside for when the weather's nice. Definitely a great option for sandwiches in the area! read more

The sandwiches definitely lived up to the hype!! There are many selections which I appreciated and all of them sounded great!! We ended up splitting an Italian sub and one with a chicken cutlet (sorry I forgot which ones). They were absolutely delicious. The bread tasted so light and fresh but with a great light crunch. There's meat was so fresh and flavorful. The toppings were perfect. There's no inside seating but they have tables and chairs outside. Exactly what you want out of a classic nyc sandwich shop- huge menu, delicious warm and cold cuts, and the owner of the shop at the register most days. I have been several times but on this visit I got the butch. Great flavor but I will say I wish I stuck to the godfather. It's what they are known for and it's hard to beat. This has been on my fiancés "try" list for a while so we decided to stop in today for lunch. The place is quite spacious for a deli and had ample snacks, cool soda options, a variety of fresh bread, and even some clothing/merch! When we arrived I had to use the bathroom, and asked the woman at the check out counter if they had one, she said they did not (which is as expected for a deli) but kindly recommended I go to a coffee shop nearby. After ordering, and heading to the nearby bathroom, our sandwiches were ready. I ordered the NY Nico lettuce wrap which was SO GOOD and filled with fresh grilled chicken, avocado, pepper jack cheese, crispy onions, and chipotle mayo. It was fresh and delicious. My fiance got the FDNY which is essentially a vodka parm on garlic bread and really enjoyed it, although it could have been warmer. The portions are generous. It was a little pricey (came to $43 for two sandwiches and a small bag of chips) but definitely worth it for a hearty, quick, casual lunch. I'd also like to try their breakfast sandwiches next time. Took the trip out to Brooklyn for this it's been a min since I last came here maybe 10 years. Today I had the FDNY on a Panini without the vodka sauce (I opt for pink because I don't eat pork) The panini was really high quality but I will say that it could have been toasted harder but whatever it's New York they gonna do it fast. The mozzarella was A1 , the chicken was really fresh. I just wish I tasted the garlic on the bread but I think that's only for the hero. Booo.. YUM! Anthony & Son make some of the freshest, tastiest sandwiches in NYC! Our normal order is a Healthilicious Panini and a Godmother sandwich. We also tried the seafood salad for the first time today, which was great (we spied it in the deli case last time we were there, and noted how fresh it looked). Always fresh, always delicious. Sometimes busy, so it can take a minute for your food but well worth the wait. I don't believe they do delivery, though you can order ahead for pick up, now at a window around the corner on Frost Street. You can't go wrong with this family run spot. read more

I saw this deli being represented on tiktok and I checked the yelp reviews that were great and led me to check this place out for myself. When I arrived, there was a small line that grew as it was lunch time. The staff were real sweet and the place was busy. They have small grocery items you can pick up like chips, baked goods etc... I was in awe of all the variety of sandwiches you can choose. It took me about 5 minutes to read what's available and then go back and forth about what I was ordering. Then I called my mom to see if she wanted a sandwich and had to read the different options. I decided to get the popular "FDNY" which was the chicken cutlet, fresh mozzarella and vodka sauce on a garlic hero. OMG, that hero was delicious and so fulfilling. I ate one half one day and the other the next day. The next day, my bread was still soft and the taste was even more tasty. My mom ordered "the BUTCH" which was grilled pastrami, pepper turkey, pepper jack cheese bacon, avocado, caramelized onions and ranch dressing and she loved it minus the avocado. LOL There was a little wait so have some patience. The supervisor was on site and gave us a complimentary zeppola straight from the oven and it was delicious. Alllll of my NYC sandwich dreams came true here! They legit have every single type of sandwich combo in the world so truly anyone can find something they like here. We had the hardest time narrowing it down to just 2 because they all looked so fantastic. We landed on the Anthony & Daughter which is overflowing with fresh prosciutto and burrata, perfectly flavored with fig and balsamic glaze, and the arugula gives it a sharp bitterness to help balance out all of the sweetness. Sooooo good The Big Bang is a decked out chicken parm with a bit of a spicy kick. I loved the addition of broccolini to give it a contrast of texture! Portions are massive - 3 of us shared 2 of these (massive) sandos and couldn't finish them. We ordered online ahead of time and they were waiting for us to pick up and easily grab ourselves by the time we got there. Employees were friendly in pointing us where to go. There's plenty of benches outside to eat your sandwiches fresh on the spot. It's a short walk from the Williamsburg area of Brooklyn with other cute spots nearby, so it's worth the visit even if you aren't super close to here! This place is a sandwich lovers DREAM. They will definitely have a sandwich for everybody with their huge menu and everything looked so good. I really wanted to hate this place because it's so far from me and not super wallet friendly but sigh... it's just too good. I came on a Monday afternoon and it was already packed inside. The menu definitely takes a bit to get through but I opted for the godmother ($19) because it seemed to have a bit of everything. I waited around 20 minutes to get my food and took it outside to eat. Tearing open the sandwich and seeing the cross-section is a glorious sight and let me mention that these sandwiches are HUGE. I shared with one other person and it was plenty. The bread is nice and crusty to hold all the fix-ins in place and it was absolutely stacked inside with cold cuts and veggies. It surprisingly wasn't too salty and very well balanced especially with the addition of oil and vinegar. I highly recommend checking out Anthony & Son's the next time you're in Brooklyn. Put a whole forkful in my mouth, tasted strange, spit it out and saw that there was blue fuzz mixed in with the cake.
