Porcini patate salsiccia mozzarella. Sooo goood!!

Our second dinner in Rome was met here.. I was a little skeptical because not many people wrote on Yelp. But wanted to check it out... It was about 8pm when we walked in were seated fairly quick because it was empty in the back end of the restaurant. Over glancing over the menu i opted for Risotto alla pescatora. And pizza with sausage, mushroom and potaotes.. Now i realized i did order risotto. I also forgot it takes a long time to cook! With that said thank goodness we ordered an appetizer! The pizza was made in brick oven. Had some nice char on the potatoes not too salty not plain! After pizza. We waited and waited. My cousin was sitting near the window where you can see the chefs cook i told oh cool take a picture naturally to post on yelp. I noticed that there was Dececco dry pasta on the shelf. Really an itaian restaurant in the heart of Rome has spaghetti from a box. That to me was a disappointment. Thank goodness i ordered risotto! I also thought it was odd that for a few moments even our main course dishes were not done both chefs left the kitchen to go put to the patio to chat to patrons or friends dining. I thought with the restaurant not busy why would you make people wait. Would i return for the risotto and pizza yes but not for pasta!

This restaurant is quite nice. Food is not bad but also not amazing. I had eggplant with Parmesan and pasta with seafood. Pasta was a bit smaller than I assume. The starter was very good. Coffee was too hot according to my taste.

If you are by the Trevi Fountain, you must have lunch or dinner at this restaurant. The food was delicious and very tasty and not just your typical pasta dishes. It was authentic, creative and just that good. Nana Vini e Cucina is much larger than it seems on the outside. There's a nice outdoor dining space for people watching and the inside has a private room for larger parties. The decor is very warm and inviting. The entire staff in the restaurant is a great group. You can tell they enjoy their work as well as each other. My server Aniello was great! He's honest with his choices on the menu and gives excellent recommendations. He's very attentive and goes above and beyond. He recommended the Burratina con Gamberi Crudi as an appetizer and it was the best choice ever made. Then he recommended the seared tuna, which was another great choice. I actually returned to the restaurant on my last day for another great meal and with Aniello as my server again. This time he recommended the lobster ravioli and it was the best I've ever had! Paolo and Davide are excellent chefs. Their meals and presentations were exquisite. Diego is the nicest of them all. He really knows how to manage the restaurant and his staff. Alessandro and Giuseppe were just as nice and friendly. I can't say enough about this group. I will be returning to Rome in the near future and can't wait to bring my friends and family to Nana for an amazing meal and experience. I highly recommend you do the same.

The BF and I came here for dinner on our first night in Rome. The food was ok, but the service was horrible. First, the food. We ordered the potato and sausage pizza and spaghetti carbonara. The carbonara was ok...and the pizza was not good at all. Maybe it was just out choice of topping, but it just didn't sit well with us. Note that we've been in Italy for over 10 days at this point, so this place wasn't impressing us one bit. Now to the service. Our waiter was curt and seemed like he just wanted to leave. He actually got yelled at by a guy at another table for screwing up the wine order. I get that people have bad days, but he just didn't seem like he gave a flying s**t about anything. Between the poor service and the mediocre food, I wouldn't come back again.

Great fish restaurant with nice ambiance. Had to wait quite a while for table and preparation of the food took 40 min. But once the food came we were not disappointed- great tasting and very fresh. 4 stars only because of the waiting time for the food. The red wine of the house was very nice as well! No need to buy a bottle! Otherwise the service was good, Giuseppe was very sweet and friendly. Next time I hope to give 5 stars as the food quality deserves it.

Our hotel manager had suggested another restaurant, but I was apprehensive to try, but did later, more on that restaurant review in it's own post. I rather did what I should have done throughout the trip to, which is to search google for local reviews. This tactic I found to be much better than to trust American reviews for restaurants to visit from Youtube or even here, just because the American touristy taste tends to favor bland or Olive Garden style pseudo Italian. The real Italian taste is much different and something one needs to develop. I was familiar with European Italian food, as I had said before in other reviews that Mexico has better Italian food outside of Italy. Additionally, the good restaurants here in Italy do not open before 7 PM. If it does or if someone that looks foreign to Italy is outside trying to lure you in, it's a tourist restaurant with iffy flavor. At this restaurant my husband had the Lobster pasta and I had the spinach/ricotta ravioli, and we both were beyond satisfied. We also had the artichoke as an appetizer, and trusted the waiter with his suggestion for a bottle of wine. He must have been some genius because the wine went well with our meal. The ambience was cozy and very family oriented, however, the rain outside made it romantic for us. Another key point for this restaurant and it traditional flare was that they brought out the olive oil and red vinegar for our salad and of course olive oil for our wonderful home-made bread. I'm so glad we chose this place for those of us Americans who understand culinary cuisine.

They offer both indoor and outdoor seating, and if you're sitting outside on a sunny day, the staff is very attentive about adjusting the shades so you're comfortable. They will adjust even without you having to ask. I ordered the artichoke as an appetizer which was very good, I recommend getting this if they are in season. I also ordered the carbonara, and it was by far the best I had while in Rome perfectly creamy, rich, and full of flavor without being too heavy. You can really tell they focus on doing the classics right. What stood out beyond the food was how efficiently the staff operated. Despite how busy the restaurant gets, they move quickly and keep everything running smoothly, which made the whole experience even better. Overall, this is a must-visit spot if you're in Rome. Expect a wait, but it's 100% worth it for the quality of the food and service.

By the time we were seated, dozens of people were waiting behind us. We sipped an Aperol spritz and lemonade while we waited, chatting with fellow diners who raved about the restaurant. On a sweltering day, our kids were starting to struggle in the heat when the owner came outside and gave them mini pizzas breads. It was a thoughtful gesture that immediately made us feel welcome. Once seated, we ordered burrata, cacio e pepe, amatriciana pasta, pork chops, and fried artichokes. Everything was excellent, but the amatriciana was the standout--rich, savory, and unforgettable. The cacio e pepe was silky, the burrata fresh and creamy, the pork chops juicy, and the fried artichokes perfectly crisp. There's a reason people line up for Da Enzo. The food is exceptional, the atmosphere lively, and the hospitality remarkable. Without question, this was our best meal in Rome and one of our most memorable restaurant experiences.

Super pizza place with a lot of other great stuff on the menu…read more I looked with envy at the other tables who were enjoying spectacular plates of spaghetti with mussels. * * * That said, my pizza was a grand slam home run. Many of their pizzas are quite elaborate With all sorts of exotic ingredients. I went super simple. Gorgonzola. Mozzarella. That's it. Just enough Mozzarella to cut the Gorgonzola and make for a good melt. * * * If you have never had a gorgonzola pizza, you have never lived. Just sayin'. * * * P.S. My lovely wife got a Norwegian salmon pizza. The Norwegian salmon was stacked up high on her pizza As if she was in the World Series of Poker and she was a big winner. I have never seen so much salmon on one plate. After our meal, I made a discreet phone call to the Norwegian embassy in Rome asking them if they still had any salmon left. The woman at the embassy assured me the Norwegian salmon supply was fine. That surprises me given all the salmon that was on my wife's pizza.

Being new to Rome, and having walked 20k steps on our first day, there are an abundance of options a for dining. We wanted something classically Rome nearby to our hotel. The Yelp review of this restaurant was sufficiently positive to entice us. Being American, we appreciate the earlier-than-customary dining options. We arrived at 6pm without a reservation. We were seated immediately. The restaurant is intimate and very well staffed. The wood fire oven is front-and-center and the fresh mozzarella is prominent in display. We ordered a bottle of wine ... all options are very fairly priced. This is nice. We started with a Greek salad to share. It was unlike any American Greek salad ... and a really delight. It is early June but the tomatoes and peppers were ripe and crisp and really fresh. My wife ordered the Marguerite pizza; I opted for the Gorgonzola pizza (the effusive review on Yelp was compelling). Both were solid. We appreciate the thin crust and the crisp edged. The center of both, however, was doughy and somewhat undercooked. Looking around ... the restaurant was over 50% full even at this early hour. Most were Americans. We saw a good number of diners with pasta dishes ... and none were left unfinished. Sadly, we don't have any comparisons to weigh (yet). So, I cannot affirm any "best of" citations, it this is certainly a solid trattoria/pizzeria. The staff are attentive and the food served hot and fresh.
