Dr. Allen treated my son for approximately two years. She is the worst medical "professional" I have ever encountered. Examples:
- - Dr. Allen said that my son was depressed and suffered from anxiety, and recommended that he be treated with medication. Dr. Allen doesn't prescribe medication, and would not provide a referral for someone who accepts our insurance. Also, after her statement, she recommended cutting back his treatment from weekly, to twice a month!
- - When I finally found a psychiatrist to provide medication management, they would only do so with the cooperation of my son's therapist (Dr. Allen). The psychiatrist wanted updates from Dr. Allen to be able to gauge the effectiveness of the medication. Dr. Allen refused to provide the psychiatrist with updates, stating that "it's a lot of work to have to write all those notes...it's just too much".
- - In a later appointment, Dr. Allen told my ex-husband that she never told me our son was depressed or needed medication.
- - I requested a letter at the end of May from Dr. Allen, which was required from another health institution. The requirements for the letter are that it must be printed on official letterhead, and it must be signed. She forgot to bring it to our appointment as promised. She then said she would mail the letter, but never did. I had to send Dr. Allen several e-mails reminding her about the letter. She finally sent an e-mail to serve as the letter. I reminded her that the service I was working with would not accept an e-mail. Following that, in the beginning of August, she sent me a letter in a MS Word document/file - it wasn't on letterhead, and it wasn't signed. Here it is 3 months later, and I still don't have what I need.
- - Dr. Allen never showed for two scheduled appointments, and provided no explanation or apology.
- - As I was pulling in the parking lot for a recent appointment, I saw Dr. Allen in her vehicle, leaving for the day. I had to call her to remind her that we had a scheduled appointment, to which she came back and saw my son as scheduled.
- -...and the list goes on and on.
Dr. Allen clearly does not have the best interest of her patients at heart. read more
