1st, this place has delicious food. 2nd, the dishes cost on average 10$. 3rd, the size of the dish can probably feed two people. I am 6'2 and 200+ lbs, I can barely finish the container of pad Thai or drunken noodle that they send. 4th, if you are going to rate the place, rate according to how any 10$ Thai food dish would cost. If you want top notch Thai food for 10$, then you should be scouting airline tickets to Bangkok, cause that's where you can find them. This review is exclusively for the peanut curry. It was excellent. I cannot speak for the other dishes but the peanut curry was sufficient enough for me to presume that the other dishes are probably on par, and I will certainly order food from Nana again. I have either dined or ordered delivery from almost all of the Thai restaurants in JC, and Nana certainly tops the list. This could have potentially been a five star review - delivery was prompt, food was flavorful, ingredients seemed fresh - however...it was waaaay too spicy! I selected mild from the drop down menu on my Pad Thai, and it was so spicy, I had a tough time eating it. Like, lips burning ten minutes later kinda spicy. If you're a hot hot hot kind of person, order away. Going forward, I hope the chef follows the mild request for those of us that actually want to experience flavor instead of just pain! read more

New gem on Central Ave. The fried rice and drunken noodle were the best I have had in the Jersey City/Hoboken area. I also recommend the Tom Yum soup! And the fried ice cream was phenomenal. This place is pretty standard when it comes to Thai food but they seriously need to work on their spices. We requested spicy for the chicken pad Thai and anywhere else I would call that nothing-mild. Amazing restaurant. Chili wings are LARGE and savory. They have a great weekday lunch special where you get an app and a pretty decent-sized entree for $7. Curries are on the spicy side; Thai iced teas and iced coffees are great. Servers have been friendly and prompt. Stopped here the other night because it looked inviting and I wanted some Thai. I walked in and it was a calm comfortable inviting place. Very clean inside and staff was welcoming. I proceeded to peruse the menu to see what the had to offer. I eventually settled on bbq steak, sticky rice and vegetables. Where do I start.... the sticky rice was in a plastic rap that was inside of a rice container. It was less than 3-4 spoon fulls if it was eatable. The rice was so hard that attempting to eat it was like biting into salt water taffy. The vegetables were far over cooked and some indistinguishable so I tossed them not know what was what. As for the steak it was a complete let down. It was tough, over cooked and no flavor at all. It was tantamount to eating beef jerky. I'm sorry hopefully this was a bad experience. But for $20 not only could I have gotten much more elsewhere it would've been quality. read more

My daughter recently moved to Jersey City and has been raving about this place for weeks now. Finally got to try it! The decor is nothing special even if not as bad as some of my other favorite hole in the walls . But you don't go to NaNa for the ambiance - you go for great Thai food! Four of us tried 2 apps, a soup and 4 entrees. All delicious. The standout app - the beef salad is awesome! The tom yum should could have been a bit spicier for me but everyone else though it had the perfect amount of kick. My entrees - Siam Duck Curry - was wonderful prepared with the duck in the curry sauce still crispy. The Drunken Noodle, Green Noodle, and bbq steak were also great. I was excited to try this place, but the service was so shitty I had to leave. I was one of 2 tables and a man placing a take out order at 9pm on a Saturday night. Eventually I got up and asked the girl if they were still open. It says 10pm but since she was ignoring me, I thought maybe I had wandered in at closing. She said yes and then went into the kitchen. Once she came out she started counting the register. A few minutes later she got on her phone. Update 4/18/17 We have been walking by NaNa for a while and keep seeing they are offering a grilled or fried pork chop with vegetable soup special. We always think, "M'eh, pork chop is pork chop." I treat my male companion to dinner at NaNa (as he usually treats me) and I decide to try the pork chops. The waitress is always glad to see us and makes our delicious Thai Iced Tea to perfection. One small note, at Noodle Fan they pour in the milk and do not stir. While not a big deal it makes for a better presentation. I can not decide on how to order my Pork Chop so he suggests grilled. First our soups arrives. Nice veggie stock loaded with vegetables and seasoned just right - not salty. He has the coconut soup with chicken and swears it keeps getting better. Loves how the chicken is more tender this time out. Our meals come and the pork chops appear to be fried. But the flub is to our favor. He tries a piece and states that I have the better version of the pork chop. I dig into my two pork chops with a side of sticky rice. It is delicious! Crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside and full of flavor. I even gnaw at the bones. If you are not one to chew fat, you will gladly eat your entire chops. The spiced side sauce has a real kick. I do not reacall having better pork chops in my life. My friend orders the Thai Spaghetti and Basil with beef. He devours his meal and notes the portion is nice and the meat is pretty generous. Nothing new to add here except his dish is spicy perfect thanks to the red and green peppers. He loves his meal, but envies my pork chops. We love the crispy duck but the pork chops are stealing us away for a while. Today we indulge in desserts and both have the chocolate cake. While tasty it is past prime. The refrigeration will dry out cake, even with the sleeve protectors. Not the highlight of the meal but not dinging NaNa for something they do not make. Nanna should consider Thai desserts. Since they do everything home made and fresh we prefer it to bakery goods. There was no coffee for my dessert so she substitues the Espresso at no extra charge. The milk is steamed just right and served in a small container. The Espresso gives me a real boost. We return to our respective homes and he calls for a half hour. Most of the time is spent raving about the food. The best Thai food in the area is still at NaNa in Jersey City. Thank you, food gods! read more

My wife and I were first intrigued by this place since they advertised having both thai and "spanish" cuisine. Upon arriving chose to sit at the end of the restaurant to avoid the cold air rushing in each time the door opened. Although the dining room was clean we find find it a bit odd that you have a clear view of stacks of beverages for future use. The hostess/waitress asked us which menu we would like to see - we chose both menus. At first I thought this was weird since most restaurants offer one menu. However after opening each menu I realized the number of selections could not have fit in one. From experience I know this means they will not have all of the selections available. For example they did have the mango milkshake or the croquetas I requested. We ordered a variety of appetizers from both menus. For the main course muly husband chose sancocho (special of the day) and I chose pineapple fried rice with chicken. When ordering beverages I asked if there was chocolate milk and the waitress said no. I looked to the right towards the fridge and there was the chocolate milk. After about 15 minutes appetizers began coming out randomly at different times. Some came after my husband got his main course. We finished most of our food including main courses before my main course arrived at the table. By this time I had eaten some of my husbands food was full so I decided to take my meal to go. As far as the food itself, I would definitely say I had better thai and spanish food in different restaurants in the area. However this place had the choice of both so it was great for our kids. When I finally got a chance to eat my pineapple fried rice at home is was very good. My husband was very pleased with his main course as well. Overall, the service was lacking. So I ordered this on a cold rainy Sunday (yesterday) because I was craving spice to warm myself up. Anyway I ordered a Tom Kha soup with shrimp, and a chicken drunken noodle with shrimp (additional charge for the shrimp). At first I thought, "what nominal charges! This is great!" I proceeded to check out my order. Upon receiving my meal, I quickly ran to the kitchen to inspect and enjoy my meal. It looked great, except for the fact that my soup had 2 shrimp--only, and an over abundance of raw white onion; I was the least bit concerned considering the price so I continued to drink and enjoy the soup. I ate the shrimp last realizing they tasted rancid. As if they had been poorly refrigerated after being cooked (I've experienced this before, so I'm very familiar with the taste). Once more, I thought it to be "just me," and continued to the drunken noodles, but low and behold, the shrimp was spoiled. I stopped after the first bite. And set aside my meal. Drank a lot of water to flush any bacteria out of my system, and went to bed. I woke up to go to work this morning, and I had woken up sweating, severely upset stomach, nausea, and slightly feverish. It took me until an hour ago to realize it was most definitely the shrimp. NEVER EVER GET ANY SEAFOOD FROM HERE-- actually after my experience I don't think I'll ever get anything from here. Ordered from here at 7:00pm on a Sunday. Waited an hour with no delivery and no word from the restaurant. I called to see where the food was and they said that they were busy. We waited another half hour and called again only to be directed to an answering machine. We waited until 9:15 and the place closed and we never received our food!! Luckily grubhub was on point and refunded us. I would never recommend this place to anyone as it is a complete waste of time! This place is excellent and authentic. The noodle and rice dishes have been consistently good. It's a great option for takeout or eating in. They also have some great items (ie papaya salad) that are less common on menus in this area. read more
