Everything tasted incredibly fresh, flaky, buttery, and loaded with pistachios instead of just waving one around for decoration. The hardest part of the visit wasn't choosing what to order, it was convincing myself to stop ordering.

So the hubby has been wanting to try this place out, for a while. Thankfully we were close by with…read moresome friends and they also wanted to give this place a try. First of all, this place is large! A lot of seating and space if you don't want people on top of you like other places. Because of being lactose intolerant, I was excite to try the special ice cream they have made from a tree (per advertisement). When I asked to try, the server immediately dipped it in pistachio. II'm not a big fan of pistachios. I just wanted to try it plain. But all I tasted was pistachios. Then one of my friends who tried it after me, said they need to dip it in pistachio because the ice cream itself doesn't taste like anything. What if someone has a nut allergy? So I decided to go for the baklava. I know, I know, there is pistachio in it, but I love baklava and thought I could just remove most of the pistachios. Yea, that didn't work as I thought. My hubby had the Dubai Round Baklava and LOVED it. I'm particular of my sweets and though I didn't have a good first experience, I am willing to return to try something else.

Love Yemeni coffee and tea…read more When I found out they have a store in Tampa. It was on our bookmarked of places to have a snack. Coffee and tea are amazing with the pastries and milk cakes. Place is nice - having both indoor and outdoor seating We went around lunch and place was busy - many are college students studying Must try their honeycomb and rose milk cake. Also got some to go for the airport - pistachio ricotta cheesecake and their spring addition- banana crunch matcha. So good. Will definitely come back when we are in town.

Wanna getaway? Qamaria transports you out of the strip mall to someplace much more exhilarating…read more It's the ambiance and the menu. The decor is inviting, modern, warm and elegant. You feel like you're on vacation in the large, well appointed space. You can work, scroll, dine, sip or just chill out and scroll at one of the many high tops, tables or couches inside. There's also a large, sunken courtyard outside (right next door, a few steps down. I love the look and location of it.) I'll return to test out all the seating options and report back. But back to this first visit: I couldn't find a menu online ahead of time, so I walked in with a blank slate. They had a menu next to the case full of desserts. I settled on a Yemeni-style hot chai tea and a divine pistachio pastry, with so many flaky layers, sweet honey and a delicate pistachio flavor. I also chose a high top by the window, to enjoy them both. It's such a great environment in here-busy and bubbly but not loud. I can't wait to soak that up-with a different tea and sweet treat. The trip back will be easy. Qamaria is at the corner of 56th Street and Fowler in Temple Terrace, in a brick strip mall... with a huge parking lot, leafy shade trees at one end and lots of other middle eastern delights to try out, in that same plaza. Prices seemed fair, service was fast and it was very clean. Looking forward to grabbing one of the colorful cushioned seats for a reset, soon. Cheers!
