Cute spot for dessert. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating. Enjoyed the matcha roll and iced matcha ($12 combo after 8pm) and parfait with warabi mochi. Matcha is very strong and delicious.

I've been to other Nana's Green Tea locations but this was my first time at this one! I loved how spacious the interior was - there were plenty of long tables. We stopped here a few minutes after they had opened on a Monday morning, and we were the only ones there. There were kiosk for you to place your orders on, and I like that each item had a corresponding photo so you could see what the drink or dessert would look like. It looked like there was one person making all of our drinks, but I felt like everything came out in a very reasonable time. I ordered one of the seasonal strawberry matcha beverages, and it was really good! Everyone at our table ordered something different, so we were able to try a few things off the menu. The parfait was also sweet and refreshing! Everything tasted fresh and really delicious! Exactly like how I would expect things to taste, based on my prior Nana's experiences.

NANA's Green tea is my favorite Japanese dessert shop. They offer Nomsmag food festival special item, so I visited to try Purple sweet potato latte with matcha pudding. When I had the first sip, Purple sweet potato flavor came through strongly, and enjoyed having the sweet puree at the bottom. It was very delicious. It took only within 5 minutes to finish it. For Matcha pudding, I opened the lid and had them with puree. Matcha pudding wasn't too sweet, so, it blended with puree very well. They also offer soft serve and dorayaki from the Nomsmag food fes. I like to revisit and try them!

Nana you have my heart. This is hands down the best matcha I've ever tasted: thick, creamy, and not too sweet. So, so good. So many matcha spots I've tried tend to taste watered down, but Nana's was the opposite. You can tell right away that this is high-quality matcha. What sets this place apart is that there's no option for added flavors or sugar there is just one standard, perfect recipe. Both times I've been to Nana's, I ordered conveniently through their self-order machine, and my matcha was ready within a few minutes (shoutout to the quick employees!). Highly recommend Nana's!

A friend who has fond memories of the old location recommended the matcha here, while another chimed in and sang praises of their NYC location. It seems their Yelp page still largely has images of their old spot. The new neighborhood seems a lot quieter in comparison. Walking here from the Olympic Village station was roughly 15 minutes, as the path goes through some busy intersections. As we walked in, I remember hearing a song from Ikimono Gakari as well as of J-pop rock tunes. The interior is decorated beautifully with wooden furniture and comfortable lighting. Through their kiosk, I ordered a hot Matcha Latte and a warabi mochi, while my friend ordered a matcha soft serve. As touted, the matcha flavors were deep and rich even with milk, which neutralized in any excess bitterness. The mochi was light though didn't add much as a standalone snack. I tried a bit of the soft serve, and the bitterness came through a little more and wasn't too sweet.

Great Ambience, a little cozy place for tea and cakes at this hidden area. A cake shop that is unique and made to order style. Very comfortable environment and quiet atmosphere for gatherings. They have variety selections on their menu. It is definitely worth to try everything they offer.

Tried their sweet potato series! The Doriyaki was delicious and a must get! The tables are a bit too high due to the place being a ramen restaurant before but they will be doing renos soon to make it more cafe like staff was nice and generous.

Ordered a matcha ice cream and a parfait. They were both delicious! After a lot of heavy foods, it's always great to end the evening with desserts.

    Hojicha Shiratama Parfait

The interior has a very rustic vibe with communal tables. Upon entering you create your order on one of their tablets and pick up your order afterwards. I wanted to try something different so I got the hojicha shiratama parfait. They have a deal with $5 off right now on selected items, so it came up to around $12 before tax. The flavor of the hojicha ice cream was quite good, with a nice roasted tea flavor. The cereal flakes are also a nice contrast of crunchy texture in addition to the soft mochi.

    Cynthia S.

A perfect way to end the night: cold brew hojicha and matcha tiramisu! The tiramisu was perfection. A blend of sweet, creamy and earthy flavours while the hojicha has nuttiness! Excellent pairing at a reasonable $12

Hands down my absolutely #1 favourite matcha ice cream. I would go out of my way to come here for dessert after dinner. Seating is quite limited but I prefer to take it out. Great service and the line moves pretty fast when it's busy.

Seriously the best matcha soft serve in the city. Perfect sweetness, I absolutely love the texture. No one does matcha soft serve like Nana's Green Tea. The new location is a lot larger and has self order & checkout machines at the entrance. You'll just have to pick up your order at the counter.

They moved out of Kerrisdale into a new space in Mount Pleasant recently. The new cafe probably has about the same amount of seats, but with a smaller number of large communal tables, so it feels a less intimate, but there are some very nice design touches on the windows here that I really like. I still have a positive impression of the food, same as my previous review. The unagi chazuke remains the superior savoury option, at least among the seafood choices. The ceremonial-style matcha (called "matcha espresso" to draw parallel with coffee preparation - it doesn't actually contain espresso) is prepared well here. I tried the vanilla soft serve in the seasonal sakura & strawberry latte, which was my first try of the ice cream. It was average vanilla soft serve, and of course wonderful in the float, but I wouldn't be compelled to order just the vanilla on its own or even in a parfait, but if matcha were added that might change things. Anyway, the sakura latte that the ice cream was served in had a very pronounced floral flavour that I really enjoyed; very unique. Since moving to Mount Pleasant, they have introduced kiosk ordering, which I'm not usually a big fan of, but the kiosks here are at least organized and easy to use. The staff was polite when I picked up my order, so you still get a bit of nice service. No line, but I had to wait about 20 minutes for my order to be ready since they're still popular and there were a lot of people who ordered ahead of me.

One thing noticeable about this restaurant is the lacking of plates. They used majority of their plates to serve the food on. However the food were served as finger foods and we were expected to hold our food in our hand. Somewhat strange. They also ran out of glasses during the party. The bartender couldn't even keep up with our drinks. Anyways other than the above. The event was a great event. I got the opportunity to try all four of their mocktails: - Blueberry Basil Lemonade - Mango Lavender Lemonade - Minty-Berry Sour - Pear Lavender Sour All their drinks were very fancy prepared and my favorite are the Minty-Berry Sour and the Blueberry Basil Lemonade. I also found that there is some inconsistency in the glass they serve it out of. The food was delicious as mentioned before. My favorite out of their finger foods were the grill cheese brisket. OMG that was really good. The other memorable items are the porkbelly and fried chicken. I think the fried chicken is one of their popular items on the menu served during brunch. The cheesecake at the end I got was very soft but flavorful. The cheeseburger slider was really good too. Overall I really enjoyed the food. The atmosphere and decor of the place was nice. The restaurant is very small. Because we were over 100 people, there was a wait for the 3 stalls in the bathroom. There was not enough tables and chairs for everyone to sit. I think the restaurant can comfortably maybe accommodate around 40 or 50 guests max. I will definitely be back again someday to try their brunch menu.
