Its one of the few theaters that I will dress up for and has an open lobby area with a cash bar that is a fun and somewhat upscale space for conversation before the show which works nicely for your group to gather, converse, and socialize before the show. Addison restaurants are nearby but busy on weekends so do plan an early dinner between 5 and 6 as those restaurants are typically very busy on weekends. A plus is the "Stone Cottage" theatre in the rear which hosts a different theatre company and is which is rustic with often ribald works. There is also a large snd configurable separate meeting space which can be had for special functions or seminars. If you are into Architecture and you ever get the chance for a complete tour of the Water Tower theatre seize the opportunity because it is a very cool building with 2 levels below grade for costume and storage with three above that are absolutely amazing in how they are completely flexible for multi tier stage configurations and configurable seating tiers from several directions.

However, for a theatre with limited means (poor city funding, low donations in a down market), the compensate with casting excellent talent (both on stage and off) and producing solid shows. There are only about 80 seats, so a subscriptions is a good idea, so you get reserved seating in the center section. Some favorites from recent years include Adventures in Love City of Angels Forever Plaid Art Brighton Beach Memoirs Little Shop of Horrors Honk If you love theatre, spend some time at FMPAT. If you have you young children, enrolling them in their children's school will make them happy (and talented).

The clown let me know that the boy in front of my son was his last balloon. Ok, no big deal. I went outside and waited for our food. I looked over and noticed a little girl now holding the sign. I went in and told the clown that was rude to do to a little boy and allow other people to get in the line. He said he didn't but I was watching the entire time. And it was a boy holding the sign and now a girl. So I called the main number and the lady that answered the phone said, "it was just a balloon!" Ok well to a 4 year old it's MORE than a balloon. I would never hire people to host children's parties that had this demeanor.

The performance by the cast is worthy of a Tony award! This review is more about the Stone Cottage Theater which is part of the Addison Conference and Theater Center. It is a small building that is one of Addison's historic structures that has been renovated and I believe can hold up-to 55 people. The check-in lady was really friendly and offered us free chocolate and roses for valentines. You can also buy snacks and drinks at the check-in desk before the show or during intermission. The Good: ------------- Very intimate setting, small crowd, lighting effects are great for a small theater production. There is a parking lot close by if you get early. You can also park by the street nearby if the main parking lot is full. Can do Better: ------------------- The plastic cushion-less seats are a back breaker for those long theatrical performances. My butt and back were hurting after being seated for almost 2 hours watching the above reference play. They may need to get cushioned seats! Also, the signage pointing to this small cottage may need to be a little bigger. Wife and I were not sure where the Stone Cottage building was since there are two theaters in the same location. There is small sign by a rock, but this can be overlooked.
