Your real like Fairy Godmother...the kicker is I'm just talking about the work she did on my Maid of Honor Dress!! Let me start by saying my phone call to Nancy started like this. "Hi, Nancy? Yes, I have a problem. I'm the MOH in a wedding which sort of just was decided today and the zipper is broken on the dress. And well the sleeves need removed and well...the wedding is in 30 days" At this point she was beyond kind but,also beyond busy. She was booked. After hearing the desperation in my voice and looking over her schedule she was amazing enough to work with my work schedule and fit me in the next day. She works from her home and has this fabulous dressing room off the side where you enter and you immediately feel like you know she is going to make it better. And that's what she did. She took a dress bridesmaid dress and made it perfect for me. Her attention to detail and eye for how something should look like and lay on the body is a true talent. She is amazing. I am so pleased with Nancy's bridal alterations! My dream dress was purchased 6 months prior and I had gained about 10 lbs causing my corset to no longer fit- basically there was about 3 inches of my back showing... I was in a panic and called Nancy. Not only did Nancy see me on short notice (the next day on a Sunday) but she was the most kind, reassuring, and helpful seamstress ever. I was embarassed about my dress no longer fitting. Nancy reassured me, did a few snips and pinned certain areas and woila! I fit my dress again! I told her she was a miracle worker! Honestly I was so relieved Nancy was able to do my alterations in a weeks time. We were in a pinch! We were at the hair salon with the bride and her friends when the bride's sweater tore at the seam. The hairstylist recommended Nancy's so I ran over there to see if she could do a quick fix. Being that the bride was leaving right after the wedding on her honeymoon, we were very short on time. Nancy was an angel to our rescue. It took her less than 3 minutes to sew it up and she did it at no charge! Now, doing it that fast was lifesaving, but with the added good will, was heroic. People who do business like this should get the business when comparing two or more businesses. This kind of work ethic is commendable and rare this day and age. Nancy is a local, kind-hearted, and talented seamstress. I also had the time to admire her handiwork in the salon while I was there and she truly knows what she is doing. Nancy has helped myself and friends out many many times when it has come to alterations for special occasions. She is not only quick and efficient, but she is a MAGICIAN when it comes to gowns. Nancy was so amazing to work with and I will go back to her for any alternations needed in the future. The dresses were altered to perfection! We had one dress that was way too long and way too big, and she made it look amazing, I couldn't get over how incredible the dress looked. Nancy was great and my experience with her was very pleasant. This was my first-time using Nancy so of course I was pretty nervous. I needed someone in the Harrisburg area to fix my wedding dress. I found her online and after reading other people's comments, I felt comfortable enough to give her a chance. I'm so glad that I did! If you are reading this and debating whether to use Nancy's or not, I would encourage you to do so. Her pricing is reasonable, and she did a wonderful job on my wedding dress. It only took her a month to fix my dress and I only needed 1 dress fitting appointment. She did the bustle too which looks great. My dress has an illusion neckline with sheer fabric (tricky to work with), and I needed a lot taking in around the bust area. Her craftsmanship is amazing. I took a maternity bridesmaid dress to Nancy to be altered. It was my first pregnancy and the wedding was to occur when I was 28 weeks pregnant with twins. Nancy had some great ideas for how to make the dress more modest. However, when I went to pick up the final product and tried it on, her first question was to ask me how much weight I had gained in my pregnancy. I thought this was a very unnecessary question and it made me extremely self-conscious. When she zipped it up, she said, "It's really tight...I hope it still fits for the wedding." The wedding was 2 weeks away, I was entering my 3rd trimester, and I'm only 5 feet tall (expanding out was really the only option with 2 babies)...I left in a panic. She didn't offer to let the dress out slightly or give me other options for what to do if the dress didn't fit. In the end, it didn't make a difference - I was rushed to the hospital 5 days before the wedding anyways and didn't get to be a bridesmaid after all. The whole thing just could've been handled a lot more tactfully. read more

Nancy seemed great at first. However, when I wasn't happy with my dress at the final fitting she did not offer up any solutions other than she didn't think I liked my dress and asked if it was my "first choice". I took my dress to another seamstress who showed me that the hem was uneven, the dress was uneven and bubbled near the hips. She basically told me that I shouldn't have paid for that kind of work. Therefore I would giver her zero stars- but it seems to only let me post if I give her one- I got none of my money back, and was offered no solutions or additional alterations. read more
