Corned Beef Hash and Scrambled Eggs

This is my kind of diner! Old-fashioned booths, cooks with hairnets and quick waitresses who know everything about the menu and everything about you after the third visit. I love it when someone asks me, "Your usual?" and they remember what I got before. Don't go to Nancy's Revival expecting Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee or scones with lemon curd. Nancy's isn't that type of place. But if you want some delicious basic diner food, come here! Their bacon is outstanding, for one thing. No anemic thin sliced bacon scented slices here. Real deal, thick sliced bacon and lots of it! You want pancakes? Nancy's got them and they're super thin and reminiscent of another local joint's pancakes and just as good. Southern style fried fish and grits? Yes sir! Nancy's has them and they're delicious! I'm not sure what type of fish that they serve, but whatever seasoning and fish they serve is dee-lish-us! Sausage? Oh yeah! They've got sausage and their potatoes are right tasty! Corned Beef Hash with real corned beef? Yeah, baby! Yeah! This place isn't fancy and don't look too closely at the barely existent decor. Breakfast and lunch is what they serve here and it's good! Everyone should have a Nancy's Revival in their neck of the woods!

So weird... I know I left a review YEARS ago (Nancy's East End Diner) and then again a couple years ago when it was purchased by the new owner, Jordan. Anyway, when I lived in Regent Square this was my go-to. I have loved this place forever. And you know what? It only got better and keeps getting better. I'm never surprised by how delicious and fresh all of the offerings are. This is the way a diner should be. The staff are incredible. Seriously they totally seem to love being here. The food is some of the best I've ever had in my life. The havarti and apple grilled cheese is kind-blowing. I've had almost everything on the menu and there isn't one bad thing on it.

I was a little disappointed overall in Nancy's Revival. I saw such great reviews and expected a lot. The store was a bit rundown and did not look like much. Old hard benches for seats. I ordered 2 eggs scrambled with bacon and hash browns. The eggs where fine roughly the same as any other place. The bacon was ok nothing special and the hash browns where terrible totally greasy and tasted terrible. I would not go again. I would not recommend Nancy's Revival.

Awesome breakfast!!! Had an egg shell on my eggs but other than that everything was perfect and that was nothing, picked it off! Awesome and delicious local ingredients! Supports local businesses. Yes, this place looks older it's been around since the 1970s!! People commenting rude things on the appearance of the place need to understand- it's an older classic diner restaurant with great food, fair prices, and kind workers! Loved this place a lot and can't wait to go back! The menu is also a good size. They have the best country fried steak. They use steak not chicken which I loved! The employees were as sweet as could be. They were short staffed and everything was still done in a quick and efficient matter, with a smile on their faces. 10/10

A great old fashioned diner and a fantastic local spot in general. The prices are so great and the portions are quite good as well. It's cool they do delivery through Uber Eats as well. I ordered a la carte and got one pancake and one piece of French Toast (not too hungry). I'm glad I didn't order too much because that pancake was pretty huge! I've heard that they are very crispy on the outside usually, but since I got delivery, the crispness wasn't as noticeable. Still, the texture was great. They gave me some complimentary butter and maple syrup to pour on top of this giant pancake. Good stuff! The French toast costs the same, but the portion was significantly smaller. It was quality French toast, that was nice and sweet even without pouring any maple syrup, but not as great as the pancake. All in all, this is a nice breakfast spot in the Wilkinsburg area. Portions are great and so are the prices. Nothing too fancy or out of the ordinary, but good. I definitely prefer the pancake over the French toast.

One word Cornbread waffle So good Nancy's is a fantastic breakfast spot We came on a Thursday morning around 10 place was popping always a good sign Nice hot coffee to start Super duper server right on his game We had waffles eggs hot cakes sausage biscuits Each item better then the other Little booths and tables It's cozy and cute Wilkinsburg Reminds me of Bedford falls from it's a beautiful life but time has taken its toll it's run down shabby with many empty buildings Look past it all go to Nancy's there is a metered lot in back

Nancy's revival is a hidden gem in Wilkinsburg. Although they have sit down dining inside they decided to forgo it and make it a takeout and delivery place only. They operate a food truck called "Revival chili" which happened to be on the premises during our visit to veg fest. Since there was an ordering line we decided to try their food from Revival chili. A handsome and suave fellow named Pete waited on us and took our orders. My husband had which was filled with rice, grains, and protein while I decided to go with their signature chili. The chili comes with a choice of three toppings and you can have a base of either rice or cornbread. I decided to go with the cornbread and topped it with green onions, mangos, and cheese. Both dishes were served piping hot and when we got it home hardly needed reheating. My chili was very good and had a bit of a "kick" to it. I tasted my husband's burrito and it was also delicious. The chili comes in two sizes and I opted for the smaller which was just enough for me. Since this was veg fest they were only offering vegan versions of their entrees but they did not disappoint. I glanced at their breakfast menu in the window and they do seem to have a good variety of things to choose from. I'm glad I finally got the opportunity to try out this spot and hope to try their breakfast sometime in the future when they reopen their doors to indoor dining. They have a metered parking lot off to the side of the premises.

What kind of diner doesn't serve breakfast after 2?

Hi Ryan, I'm sorry to hear you might be a little disappointed. You might not be aware of this but this is the first time in over 10 years that Nancy's is staying open consistently after 2 pm. Staying open for dinner is something we've been working…

It was a typical retro-vintage stop inside, and I was forewarned by the veteran waitress they were open only for the next half-hour. I reassured her I was not planning to stay long. It must've been the end of a long shift for her because she was grumbling to the busboy about the other waitress who decided to leave early. This other woman, clearly the 'Kiss Mah Grits' type, alienated me by calling me Mr. Miyagi and cackling about it to the rest of the staff. I thought I might be expected to recite lines from "The Karate Kid". Instead I ordered the $11.25 Grilled Meatloaf Melt, which came with quite a slice covered in fried onions and melted Swiss cheese barely held together by the toasted rye bread. It was on the greasy side, and the fries were dried out (Photo 10). What would Mr. Miyagi say? Luckily there were only a few people ahead of us and this place doesn't really good job of keeping people on a steady flow in and out. They do require that you have all of your party ready to sit before they'll sit you down. We waited perhaps 5 minutes to get a table for four. Among us we ordered the eggs benedict, biscuits and gravy, and their classic breakfast sandwich. Across the board it was all very tasty. The biscuits and gravy I think use a sweet or sausage that I'm used to, but it was still very good. One of the best things about the eggs benedict is that it didn't taste just like the sauce, which is common. Instead you got the full medley of flavors from the egg and all the fixings. We also got their classic Italian bread french toast which is so buttery by itself you really almost don't need syrup. Served by very friendly but very efficient waitresses. The only downside, which this restaurant can't really control, is that parking is a pain and is expensive. But that's just a nature of the way the Strip District has grown. We didn't have any other sandwiches but they look like they would be delicious and this would be a good place for a brunch or lunch as well.
