We came in for breakfast on Friday, 8/28/26 around 10am. I wish I could remember our server's name because she was great! The restaurant wasn't full, but there were quite a few patrons. We ordered the raspberry french toast and Guy Was Here. The French toast was coated in crushed corn flakes and it added the best texture! The raspberry cream cheese and raspberry puree made it absolute perfection. The Guy Was Here was a little confusing. The menu made no mention of eggs - and if you've watched the show Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, you know Guy doesn't like eggs. So it made sense to us that it didn't have eggs. We ordered two over easy eggs to go on top. We should have asked if the entree included eggs, that would have been the smart thing to do, Anyway, there were scrambled eggs. But the over easy eggs were a nice addition. The potatoes in the bowl were so good and the jalapeños had a nice kick. My only request would be more butter on the toast. It had been quite a while since I was able to make it to Dor-Stop, and finding an opportunity in a weekday was the excuse I needed. The restaurant had a few guests but they certainly weren't busy. My waitress was incredibly friendly and efficient while keeping my coffee hot. The eggs and sausage were both perfectly cooked but I found the pancakes to be incredibly disappointing as they were way too dense and chewy. Well Dor-Stop does it again. My wife and I were undecided on brunch and she suggested we head to Dormont for Dor-Stop. I didn't argue, I love this place. She hasn't been here in years however. It was Sunday around 12:30 when we arrived. The tiny restaurant was full, but we put our names on the wait list and only waited 10 minutes before being seated. I had to order the same thing I did last time, the egg combo; two eggs over easy, upgrade to cinnamon apple pancakes and then sausage patties. My wife also did an egg combo, she however had a waffle with strawberries and whipped cream and bacon. I again loved my meal. I swear the cinnamon apple pancakes are the best pancakes I've ever had. The sausage patties were very good too. My wife also loved her waffle, so much so that she said I'm going to finish this thing. But alas, the food was too much for both of us and neither of us was able to finish our meals. The place does a great business and you never wait long for your food. It's crazy how small the kitchen is, but they had 4 guys working hard in there. I will most definitely be back. read more

A friend and I decided to stop by after a morning run. We thought they would be super busy for a Saturday morning at 11 am but it wasn't too bad. This is such a high-quality breakfast and lunch spot, on Potomac Ave. across from Moonlit Burgers. The restaurant leans into that with Guy's picture in spots on the menu and a big mural of him on the wall. But what you really want to know is, how is the food? Service is efficient, friendly and fast. The inside is smallish and there are a few outdoor tables, but this is a very no-frills kind of place and it is fairly priced. We puzzled over - Lyonnaise vs O'Brien vs home fries. Bottom line - O'Brien was squared potatoes w/ sautéed onions & green peppers; lyonnaise were o'briens w/o peppers; and home fries were sautéed potatoes. Live and learn. Hubs had the egg combo - cuz he looooves him some pancakes. He got the "premium" option which basically meant adding fruit - he got blueberries --- but he wasn't really a fan of the pancakes, saying they were just too heavy. The eggs & bacon were yums. Friend absolutely housed his "ham from the bone Benedict" and a side of rope sausage, which was super flavorful Italian link sausage. Yum! Stopped in there today 11.5.25 at 830. The place is filthy. The floor wasn't slept from the day before and the bathroom was beyond filthy. The trash was overflowing and the toilet looked like it hasn't been cleaned in a long time. I got the Philly Omelet, and it was very runny, due to the undercooked mushrooms, onions and green peppers. Great local diner with delicious breakfast! The line is always out to door for this restaurant, especially on weekends, so when I had an opportunity to go during the week, I was excited. We had to wait 10mins for a table for 2, which wasn't too bad of a wait and worth it. Our waitress was very happy and sweet, even with a very busy morning. She brought over drinks immediately and gave us a heads up about how long food would take. The menu is full of all the classic breakfast options, some with a twist. I was excited and intrigued by the Raspberry French Toast, so I ordered it. The dish comes with 2 slices of bread, cut into 4 triangles, breaded in what seemed like cornflakes. I've never had French Toast like this before. It was an interesting texture and gave a bit more flavor to each bite and made it not get soggy with toppings. Drizzled on top was raspberry compote and syrup, adding a tart and sweet flavor. Even the bacon was wonderfully crisp. Prices were reasonable too for how much food and the quality you receive. Really cute location one street over from 19, and they recently got some tables outside, which is perfect for Covid. There's lots of street parking around, so that was not an issue, even on a Sunday morning. We ordered a whole array of food, from omelettes, to benedicts, to hot cakes, to French toast. Either we were all really hungry, or the food was really tasty (or both!) because all of us ate all our food. I ordered the Irish Benedict and it came with house fries. The Benedict was non-traditional in the sense that it didn't come on English muffins (not sure what type of bread it was, but it was like a longer and crunchier English muffin), and that it had over easy eggs instead of poached ones. Still tasty! And I really liked the home fries, they were soft with one really crispy crunchy side. Again, they recently got some permanent outdoor seating. Not often do I look for breakfast and not often do I give more than a two or three star review for breakfast as most of the time the breakfast places are just about average for me not really exceeded my expectations but here was not the case as this couldn't have been more right! Coming here I was stoked they open up early as I got here by 7:00am as if I want breakfast I generally want it early as that's usually when I have something to do later that day. During current strange times they are doing a kinda online reservation type thing so I checked that first and seeing there was no one here I came in and was seated instantly by a smiling face behind a mask who would also be my server and she would provide excellent service the entire time! With a quick glance or two at the menu it was all about the raspberry French toast as it just sounded yummy as well as kinda unique and let me say it was in many ways totally delicious as the French toast it self tasted almost like a funnel cake that had raspberry cream cheese in between the slices with a delicious raspberry drizzle over the top to make it just right! My French toast was awesome and it came with a side so I went with the sausage which too was yummy and cooked just the way it should be crispy on the outside and just perfect in the middle! To be honest I couldn't have asked for a better breakfast on this given day and this hit it all the way!
