If you're looking for a place filled with delicious protein, Nando's is the spot. We visited on a beautiful day and got to sit outside which made the whole experience even better. We explored the menu on an iPad with some really cool features, which made ordering fun and easy. The platters are definitely shareable and come with amazing sides like plantains, cilantro aioli sauce, and delicious Spanish style sides like tostones, rice and black beans. Nando grill... never been to a restaurant that sells food like a used car dealership. Decent food. Overpriced. Ruined experience by a very poor server. Arrived to a nearly empty restaurant. Party of 3. 2 walked in and a 3rd on the way. Was sat at the worst table in the establishment (next to the double kitchen doors). Didn't want to start off by complaining so we just accepted it. We were provided two menus. Asked for a third and the waiter acknowledged the request but never brought it. Then he went into his speech on why we ought to order the shareable platters at a minimum of $140 for our party of 3 (though the menu suggests they feed 4-5). We listened politely. He then asked for our drink order and I order a fountain coke and my daughter ordered lemonade which is also on the fountain. Without asking any questions the waiter disappeared into the back and produced a glass of lemonade that we later learned was "fresh". And you guessed it...an upcharge. Then our server wanted to know if we knew what we wanted to eat yet. I reminded him we were a party of 3 waiting for our 3rd. He seemed frustrated by that. Our 3rd arrived and we ordered individual sandwiches to which our servers disappointed reaction was noticeable. One of us ordered an appetizer and the server asked if that was what she wanted for her meal because it's very small. She said that was all she wanted. Naturally the appetizer ordered as a meal came out right away and started getting cold. We also order 2 of their burgers which were genuinely excellent in execution. Attractive, tasted great. The only issue was that we specifically asked if the listed sauces came on the side. The server said they did. They certainly did not. Got to scrape that off. After the food was delivered we did not see our server again for almost the entire meal. We flagged down another server on 2 occasions for drink refills & later to pay our check. All the while we watched our server with other tables conversing, refilling drinks, etc. we were being punished for not being a lucrative enough opportunity. At the end the server did return and as I took a bite, asked me if I was still eating or if I was finished. This to me felt like an obvious "get out" move. Later I asked for the check. He instead went for the dessert sale. I declined. He printed it and left. Did not return. Had to flag the other server again to actually pay. I still tipped in case they pooled the tips. The others were all working hard. Not sure what this guys deal was. I will say we were the only folks that looked like us in the restaurant and left seriously wondering if that was the problem. When you combine the poor table location with the terrible service while giving good service to others, we are left with few alternative explanations. We ordered the Tamanaco platter ($174.40) and asked the waitress for help with some substitutions as we were new to Venezuelan cuisine. She never mentioned extra charges, yet the final bill came to $386.00. They charged us for the new items individually by switching our order from the Tamanaco platter to the Barinas platter which it cost $210.88 without ever mentioning or explaining it . Beyond the bill, the service was non-existent. No water was brought to the table, and the waitress didn't return until it was time for the check. Despite the website advertising live music, there was none at 4:30 PM, and my wife had to ask twice just to get a happy birthday song. We came here for a sorority meet up and the place is certainly lively! Lots of lights and live music and movement. We were seated in the back up on a little stage and it might have been because it was a busy night but service took quite some time to even take our orders even though there were large groups seated near us as well that seemed to have been served more quickly. We ordered one of the platters to share with black beans, rice, and tostones. The pork belly in the center was displayed in a fun way but kind of hard to take off the skewer, though that could have just been me. The portions were generous and the black beans were a surprising star of the platter as they had great flavor to them instead of just being your regular black beans. Nando Grill is the best Venezuelan steakhouse in Orlando! I've been wanting to try them since they had a location in Miami, so I was beyond excited when they opened the Orlando location. The restaurant is inside of a large plaza with ample parking. I came here for lunch and I would recommend doing so for smaller parties of 2-4. I tried the bao buns with octopus and shrimp and they were amazing. For my entree I did the firewood steak dish. The steak was cooked to perfection and so were the sides. They train the waiter to oversell you without notifying you about all the upcharges until you receive the final bill and see all the things you're charged for without being notified. On top of that, my Table had a HUGE roach run to our table coming from the kitchen that we had to kill while eating our dinner. The food is way way overpriced. My waiter sold me an item showing me a picture that "could feed 3 people", that same steak plate came out with 90% fatty pieces and about 4 pieces of actual steak, I'd stay far away from this place. Oohhhh my gosh. If you like meat, this place is for you!! 4 of us went on Friday at 8pm. It wasn't too busy, and they are open until MIDNIGHT! They had a live band playing, and while it was very loud, we still enjoyed ourselves. If you don't like loud environments this isn't for you. The meat was grilled to perfection, and the sides were great. The coleslaw was ok, the small arepas were good, and they had a sweet corn cake with cheese and omg that was delish! The pork belly was crispy but a little chewy (still great), the steak was perfectly cooked, and the sausage was honestly the best we've had! The pork ribs were also delicious .The sauces were so good, but that green sauce was my absolute favorite. The fried cassava was yummy dipped in the sauce. Vibrant new Venezuelan restaurant close to the Florida mall. I came in to try something different and I got it. The decor is beautiful, kind of a jungle/tropical feel. I sat at the bar and ordered a margarita. The bartender was helpful with some of my questions and I selected the corn pancake (cachapa) with pork ribs. The food came out promptly. I will say the bar seats are very low so if you are not a giant it will be awkward to eat there. The corn pancake comes stuffed with a mild cheese, maybe mozzarella? And then topped with another saltier cheese and a sauce. That thing was amazing! The pork ribs came with sauces on the side but they were so well seasoned that I just ate them plain. As we were driving north from Fort Lauderdale to head back to Louisiana on the FL Turnpike, we passed billboards about 70 miles south, advertising Nando's in Orlando. The billboards caught our attention and we wanted to stop for lunch and give them a try. The restaurant is so attractive and inviting. We sat at the bar where Kenneth tended to us. We enjoyed great service! The red Sangrias were so refreshing. We had the Llanero style tacos - carne en vara, Sautéed shrimps and Playa El Agua Plantains. They were all so delicious. We wanted to try more items from the menu but we had no more room in our bellies. We met the owner, Fernando, who is pictured on the billboards. We raved about how wonderful the food was and how much we enjoyed everything. We were texting our Miami friends that they have to try one of their locations in Miami. So I mentioned that I ordered "no pink" but that it was okay (hopefully it didn't come across as complaining about our individual server because it was loud in there). They brought out some extra pieces of definitely well done and no pink meat. We really appreciated that they made SURE that we could really enjoy the firewood Steak we ordered! Note that we were trying to eat around the original plate with the pink parts, so in the end we got the right portion. Because the food seemed like the portions were small. Maybe it's because it comes in a big tray and then all the steak is in this little plate on one side. There was a lot of empty space on the tray so made it look smaller. The arepas we ordered as a "side" were also small. Some things are advertised as "mini", so it's a perception. Conclusion This place is new and I want them to do well since I don't see too many Venezuelan restaurants (at least where in from). Though the portions and value give me pause. My opinion could be because I can't speak to the authentic Venezuelan experience, though across food, service and ambiance, I thought there were a few kinks to work through. Nando Grill in Orlando is like a Brazilian backyard barbecue that somehow crash-landed in a strip mall parking lot and brought a full party with it. I had the Picanha steak with corn coleslaw, fried yuka frita, and plantain chips with dip. The steak was pretty solid. It had a nice grill char but was just a bit too chewy for my delicate American teeth. The corn coleslaw sounded like a bold twist but tasted like someone whispered the word "flavor" near it and then walked away. Needed salt, maybe a personality. The yuka frita were thick and crispy, like if French fries were made by someone who lifts weights recreationally. Pretty satisfying. But the real MVP of this meal? The plantain chips and that ranchy magical dip. I do not know what was in it but I would dip everything in it. Fries. Steak. Phone charger. Whatever. Also had a tropical blue drink that looked like it was designed by a cruise director. Sweet, boozy, and tasted like summer vacation. Ten out of ten would order again and pretend I am on a beach instead of sweating in Orlando traffic. Now let's talk about the live band. Incredible energy. These folks were talented, enthusiastic, and absolutely determined to make sure no one within a five-mile radius could hear themselves think. Our waitress brought out some plantain chips with a creamy white dip to munch on while we browsed the menu. The dip was pretty good.. I tasted a hint of mayo in it. Overall, the food is good, but a bit greasy and a tad bit pricey. Our total came out to $183. We decided to split the bill 3 ways since we all ate everything. Although fairly early, we ordered the pork belly bites (chicharrones), and steak tacos as appetizers, complimented with a Venezuelan mule. Enrique, our server was very cordial, and professional. The prices are way too high for the type of menu they offer. They charge you for practically everything and offer services that, if it's your first time visiting, you can easily fall into the trap of paying a $15 fee just because they sing "Happy Birthday" to the birthday person. There are many restaurants that offer excellent service and great cuts of meat at much better and less abusive prices, and on top of that, they don't charge you for celebrating a birthday.
