The service is always good here. The staff is friendly and helpful, especially if you are not sure what to order or what the dish is. I recently tried the peri peri fries which the staff described as seasoned fries. It was so good! Crispy on the outside and fluffy soft inside. The seasoning was tasty. I tried the peri tamer baste on the chicken and I didn't like it much. It had a sweet taste to it. I had to dip the meat into the garlic medium sauce to counter the sweetness. I prefer the mango lime baste which is more tangy. This place got busier after 6 pm with 90% of the tables taken. It also had lots of pick up orders which seemed non stop in the hour we were there. This Nando is located at the Big Bend Mall. There are plenty of free parking in front. I came here for dine in. B and I both got the peri chicken sandwich. He said the sandwich was a bit dry. Luckily there was lots of sauce and it had a lot of flavor. I found my sandwich was not bad. We also got double chicken thighs and that dish was very tasty. The fries came with the meal. This location is quite small and has limited seats. However, due to its location, it is almost never busy. Peri means pepper. Their chicken has a nice grilled pepper flavor. I did enjoyed my meal. Can't go wrong with Nando's chicken! My other half was craving chicken and Mac & cheese so we went to get exactly that. We ordered a whole chicken ($27.50) with half lemon & herb and the other half mango & lime flavouring to share. We also ordered a side of Peri Mac ($2.99 for a side + $1.50 for the Mac). The chicken tasted as we expected, flavourful and juicy. The breast pieces were more dry but that is also expected. The Mac & cheese was a taste of childhood for us, but we found the portion to be small for how much we paid. We can always use more Mac!! The servers were nice and gave us glass cups so we could get water to drink. It's an order and then seat yourself, but they'll bring the food to you and come to clean up your dishes. I happened upon this Nando's location during a recent lunch hour. What a fortuitous find! My co-worker and I had an excellent albeit brief meal here. As usual I ordered the chicken sandwich - medium spice - with a side of peri rice. I love the peri fries but wanted something a bit healthier on this occasion. The sandwich and rice came out within a few minutes of ordering and really hit the spot on a cold day. Service was friendly at the counter and our dishes were promptly taken away when we were finished. I did find this location to be a little bit on the small side, definitely more cramped than other Nando's locations. There is plenty of parking within the mall to access the restaurant and lots of other places to eat in the area, but don't let that distract you!! I even found a Nando's imposter just across the street in the other section of the mall which I will not name. Suffice to say I have not tried it, despite my curiosity. This is my second time trying nandos and since I wasn't sharing this time, I tried their quarter chicken of breast and wing with medium spice level and a side of grilled veggies. In terms of the actual chicken, it is quite moist and I dipped each piece into the peri peri sauce making it pretty good! The sauce really is what sells this chicken but the three stars is for those veggies. They were drenched in oil and consisted of mainly onions with a few carrots, peppers and zucchini. I couldn't even finish the small bowl cringing at the pool of oil at the bottom. Overall, quite expensive for something simple but the peri peri makes it alright. read more

Love Nandos concept and flavours. I've been eating here for 6+ years. The particular location in Queens borough or Marine Drive however left a negative taste in my mouth. The restaurant had just opened (11am) not a customer in sight. I had the worst experience with the girl taking my order. I looked at the menu and wanted the first thing on the menu (1/4) chicken (leg + thigh). But I mistakenly said half chicken. She was nice ish (meaning giving minimal attitude) at this point in helping me correct it and I also showed gratitude + said sorry. Next, she asked me "do u want thigh or breast" and I said breast. I got confused in how she asked the question cause it seemed as if I were only getting an option or thigh or breast but I rmber seeing (+ leg) So I responded in confusion to clarify. This person taking my order just had way too much attitude for the 3 minutes of the restaurant opening. She kept saying 'but you said this you said that." In no way was I arguing about what I said. I was only clarifying. She needs to learn how to communicate better without making the customer feel attacked. No patience whatsoever considering there is no one in the store, rolling her eyes, dramatic and aggressive movements with the payment and receipt. Bad attitude overall for no reason. I'm a huge Nandos fan and usually go to Queensborough for my fix but found myself in this part of Burnaby this evening. The food was somewhat decent and the young lady taking our order was nice. However, this place needs some power washing inside. The ordering area was littered with paper towels and other items that should be in the garbage, the tile floor near the bathroom area was dirty and slippery. The sink by the sauces was not working. The fancy drink machine was limited to just a few options. The bathroom clearly hadn't been cleaned for quite some time. We ordered a kids meal for my son which comes with a frozen yogurt. The staff tested the machine and were all surprised something came out of it. I didn't offer this to my son as I'm not sure when it was last serviced or used. If hygiene and cleanliness is important to you, I would avoid this restaurant. read more

SO good! I love this type of restaurant - order at the counter and pay, then have a server bring your meal. I had the chicken skewers with peri peri fries (fries with seasoning salt - who knew?). Chicken skewers were awesome. A little spicy for me but I did okay, and you don't really get a lot for your $$$! However, we enjoyed our lunch today. My husband wanted to give it a try again after their recent Reno in the hopes this location had straightened out. They haven't. Now you are greeted by someone at the door that is supposed to seat you, but just says would you like table 16 or 8? And doesn't quite understand that she either needs to point to those tables or have a glowing sign so you can see what those numbers relate to. Still have to go order and pay yourself up front (so whats with door greeter? We both had the chicken sandwich we used to order, they used to be dwarfed by a too large Portuguese bun and they decided to make their buns even larger and pointy on two ends. The buns were too hard and we ended up deconstructing our burgers and forking and knifing them. Also the food took forever, I counted 6 front of house waitstaff and two people in the kitchen, hmm seems odd to me! Anyway, she was completely unhelpful (nicest word I can think of at the moment). I've never been here before and even told the girl that and she was still extremely impatient and annoyed if I had questions. She has curly hair and looked Persian or Hispanic. She expected everyone in the world to know how nandos works, what peri peri sauce is and everything. I ordered some kids meals and she gave me the dishes and was annoyed again because my hands were full as I was getting condiments. She just says "I have to take orders". Well if you can't handle customers or be patient then to should not be working in customer service. The food itself was okay but I thought it was overpriced for what it was. We got skewers and The chicken was tasty but not tender. The fries and mashed potatoes were average. The food is okay for the price. This particular Nando's location the young female staff seem inexperienced and conceded. The interaction at best was very minimal and they seemed stunned while trying to communicate and while ordering. One girl had a bulls ring hanging out of her nose which just added the perception of a "I'm young and I don't care and I'm not going to be friendly or hospitable to you because your a guy." Work in the same plaza and restaurant changed ownership. The new ownership seems to have changed the size of the food. The double leg chicken is the size of a single leg from previous owners. The side of rice comes in a 1 inch deep 4 inch diameter bowl literally feeds half a child. Understand if the price was cheaper but it's not. Chicken is ok however and the drink selection is great. Used to love coming to this Nandos, food is always consistent and quick. Easy decision for a work lunch. They've reno'd the place which cosmetically looks great but the customer dining experience is awful. They have a hostess that drills you with a 101 questions the second the front door opens a crack. Where do you want to sit? Which table?... must pick a table as they all have numbers. Inside or outside? Have you been here before? Would you like a menu? For here or to go? Once you decide a table you have to go back up and place your order like it's a fast food restaurant. And answer even more questions. It went from a pretty casual dining experience to someone rapid firing qs the second you take your first step into the place. It's pointless to have a hostess. Nandos is a fast food restaurant. Period. The food speaks for itself, yes a nice refresh of the interior helps but the rest is awful. I like the other Nando locations that haven't done this switch over. read more

Nice change from typical fast food places, although that is questionable as well. Doesn't entirely satisfy the fast aspect as it can sometimes take a while for meals to be ready. Many of the choices on the current menu are just as unhealthy as the burger chains. I guess it just seems better, and nice for a change. read more

I ate at this Nandos yesterday.. and while the food tasted great and the staff were lovely.. the FOOD POISONING certainly wasn't. This is the first time I've ever had food poisoning. The nausea came on about 1-2 hours after eating (I didn't eat anything/anywhere else that could have caused it. I was violently vomiting until 5am this morning. I've since heard of SEVERAL cases of other's experiencing food poisoning from Nandos recently. A friend went to the hospital (they had it so bad) & the Dr told them the hospital had had 37 cases of food poisoning in the last week from ppl eating at Nandos! Clearly the chicken has a virus & needs to be discarded. That won't happen though, so I highly suggest that you DON'T EAT NANDOS! read more

My husband and I love coming here. I am a fan of their peri peri fries and I love how they make their chicken. Its not greasy and the taste reminds me of our traditional Filipino Roasted Chicken. The sauces are delicious and I always ask for a take home bottle of garlic peri peri sauce. Today we had a really good experience. Food excellent. Service excellent.
