Representing 2024 in alphabet series, N is for Nando's. I had been to the Nando's Arundel Mills location a few times prior to 2024 and a few times with my girlfriend in 2024 & 2025. Food is great like the other locations. Every time I go to this location, their scanner doesn't work to get the points. So, they tell me to scan the receipt, which is a hassle, and you have to remember to do that. I had some issue relating to rewards and spoke with the manager, who was nice. I believe it was using my birthday deal, and she tried with the scanner to no avail. She gave me the meal on the house, which was unexpected. That day in winter 2024, this Nando's was my favorite and would've gotten 5-stars. Last time my girlfriend & I were here was on 12/9/25. To be fair, I didn't want to overeat, and getting 1/2 chicken with 2 sides can be a weight gain for me, and my weight was inflated in general in December 2025 due to the holidays. We went for a somewhat early dinner around 5:30 as we had an advanced movie screening at Egyptian Cinemark. I got the 1/4 chicken white with Brussel sprouts (which is always $2 upcharge) and Peri-Peri chips (Nando's fancy way of saying fries). I wish I took a pic of the December 9, 2025 chicken here, but I went only 9 days later to the Laurel location on 12/18 as I had points expiring and needed to use points relatively soon before they went away, and there was a decent amount of meat on the 1/4 chicken as I did sent a pic to my girlfriend from the Laurel location. The chicken at Hanover maybe had about 1/2 the amount of meat as it should have, which the Laurel location was about right and was the right amount of chicken per 1/4 piece in my picture from March 2024 attached of this location then. I was complaining to my girlfriend about this nonsense some of our time here; put me in a worse mood. Also, the Brussel sprouts were in a smaller container, and I'm paying an extra $2 upcharge to get a smaller container. The normal amount of fries, which isn't a ton of fries. I told my g/f I hate to say it, I'm still kind of hungry and kept mentioning possibly going to Yogurt Mountain. I certainly wasn't going to reward Nando's with being more food or dessert there. We ended up going to Yogurt Mountain, which was delicious, but I didn't really want to supplement my lacking meal with sugary dessert when weight was already up in December, not to mention extra cost. The same nice manager who was helpful in early 2024 came around to see how our meals were. I like when managers check on the customers. Instead of my response of great or good, I gave a more of a lackluster response of aah ok. Before I had any chance to elaborate, she quickly walked away. She was going to other tables to see how other tables were doing, so while good she was checking on the other customers, but I was frustrated as I was going to say more. We didn't bother talking to the manager afterward as we didn't have that much time, and remember we were unexpectedly going to Yogurt Mountain to supplement before going to our movie. Ultimately, Laurel was better, and I'll remember just go to Laurel location or maybe elsewhere other than Hanover from now on. read more

The ambiance of the restaurant was casual. The dining area was clean and nicely decorated. To order, you can either order at the register, or through the app. Servers would serve the food and handle clean up. I liked the sides I ordered: mashed potatoes and Mac and cheese. My husband ordered fries and Portuguese rice which was good too. I also liked the medium sauce with garlic and the peri peri ranch. The Portuguese tart and the chicken was average. read more

Horrible management. I placed a Door Dash order in advance at 9:30am for delivery between 12-12:20 as my lunch is at 12:30. I waited until 12:50 and sent a message to my Dasher who stated he was waiting for my food and it was not ready. I called the restaurant and asked to speak to a manager who told me they gave my order to a Dasher 15 minutes prior and there was nobody there for pickup. I told her the Dasher was sending me pictures of the area he was standing in so I couldn't understand how that could be. She tried to say that he was probably at the wrong location even though the pictures I got clearly showed the signs said Arundel Mills. Rather than apologizing and trying to resolve the issue I was pretty much blown off and told to contact Door Dash. Being a diabetic I need to eat at regular intervals and because of this delay I nearly had a medical emergency. My family and I decided to get the half chicken with a side of the rice and the garlic bread. The rice was alright but the garlic bread was absolutely delicious! It was crunchy yet soft so the texture was amazing and the amount of garlic on there was the right amount. We went with medium spicy on the chicken but I wish I got it a little spicier. Walking into the establishment I was shocked with how clean the restaurant was. We were greeted, and helped by Lilly. She sat us in the outside patio where she gave us great hospitality! Heading our way to the counter we were embraced with a big warm smile and greetings by Fatima! Taking down our order is one thing but making us laugh and feel welcomed is a whole other experience. An interesting set-up, both a sit-down restaurant and a fast-food counter, when I entered, I had to pick out a table and receive an assigned number, then go up to the counter to place my order which would then be brought to my table even if to-go. This review is based on my experience at Nandos.We were in town for the weekend. After convincing my husband to eat at Nando's we waited in line. It was Saturday night so I expect some level of waiting. I dont know if people had called ahead or requested pick up but some were seated before we were. Again my husband voiced frustrations with the entire flow of the restaraunt.We watched over and over again folks comming in for pick up,etc. Not one item from our order made it to the table. WE finally get the manager who at first could not find the order. After locating(Food) in a restaraunt.. Our order was brought to the table. We were told our order appeared to be take out. Well that explains it... Here is why that did not explain it.. Most take out moved faster than orders inside. We watched folks who walked in picked up orders by name and left. Twent to twentyfive minutes tops. We sat adjacent to orders being picked up(full view). Not one person called my name for a pickup order! While on a weekend getaway to DC we stop @ the Arundel Mall and happened to stumble upon this gem right here. I say stumble bc as we walked thru the mall I was more interested in escaping the never ending crowds that I only approached Nando's because it presented a private sanctuary away from the bustling herds of people. To my surprise it was more then just a sanctuary... it's delight on a bone! Portuguese and South African cuisine meets chicken! I found it extra intriguing because those two countries also provide the origin of my last name but I guess I have to do Ancestry or 23 & Me for more info on that. Back to the Flame Grilled Chicken it was simply spectacular and for as long as I've been eating chicken prepared many ways by some very skilled individuals, Nando's PERi PERi is @ the top of the list. Juicy, flavorfully seasoned and tender it was damn near amazing and the pis de resistance for me was the varieties of hot sauces to further enhance the flavors. We ordered one of the Sharing Plates which was the Full Platter for 2-3 ppl @ $27.99. It consists of a whole chicken and 2 large sides. The sides chosen were Portuguese Rice (house-made with turmeric and peppers) along with Flamed-Grilled Corn on the Cob. The sides were great but to be large, they were fairly small especially if you are sharing the platter with 3. In fact even thou the platter is said to serve 2-3 people if you choose corn as a side it only comes with 2 ears and are required to order an additional one ($2.89) if you have 3ppl planning to share. In addition to the food they offer some pretty good thirst quenchers, like the SPIKED Blood Orange & Mango Lemonade ($6.29) and the Pineapple Lemonade ($3.39). I look forward to returning when ever I happened to stumble upon another location. As there seems to be multiple locations in the DMV area I can now make sure it happens when I return. I am a huge fan of Nando's Peri Peri chicken. It's a globally very well known restaurant. This used to be our go to place in Bangalore. So when I came to Towson I was so excited to see Nando's here and I have had their delicious hot chicken countless times. This one at Arundel Mills Mall is really good. Love their ambiance and service. I ordered 1/2 hot chicken and 1/2 lemon & herb chicken with peri fries and salad. I love their chicken especially because they don't have loose layer of grilled skin that falls apart as soon as you start to eat. The chicken is very well grilled with smoky texture to it. Hot chicken is my favorite. It has a nice juicy flavor with a pinch of hotness. Extremely tender as the chicken falls off the bone. The marinade went all the way through the meat and with every bite you can taste their delicious flavors. They have various options to choose from. Pricing is equally competitive to other grilled chicken restaurants. I spent around $17 for 1/2 chicken with two sides. Definitely check out their different sauces. I ordered the PERi Chicken Pita option and paid extra for avocados while my wife ordered the PERi Chicken Rainbow Bowl. The avocado was not ripe at all and very hard, obvious for anyone who had to cut through it in order to serve it in my pita/on my wife's bowl. It was VERY CLEAR that whoever prepared our food had NOT ONE CLUE what a ripe avocado looks/feels likes. The service is also non-existent, once you order your food you dont see any staff again unless you make another purchase. Might as well call it a sit down drive through option if all they are going to do is hand you your food and never come back. Its like if they tried to mirror the ordering style of Buffalo Wild Wings without incorporating the service, PPV, and alcohol. First time diner at this establishment inside the Arundel Mills food court. They were observant of the Covid precautions with staff/pick-ups wearing masks at all times, and diners until seated. Social distancing was enforced between takeout and dine-in patrons with sanitizing liquid available for use. The interior has takeout, pick-up and dine-in options. The ambiance I feel is casual/friendly meet up, or relaxed date nothing too serious. I enjoyed the Portuguese music that played which reminded me of afro-soca melodies. Who wants to be served Portuguese food and hear Doja Cat over a top 40's station? (Sorry but not sorry Doja fans) The menu was simplistic yet cool. A picture which made me feel if I was in their country right now this is how it would look. Easy to navigate menu. The only thing I disliked is that EVERYONE had to give their order at the register but they brought the food out to you? So one person from our group took all 4 orders. There wasn't a host/ess to recommend, greet, or explain the food for a first time patron like myself. I ordered the peri peri 1/2 chicken, Portuguese rice, and garlic bread. Never had a Portuguese beer before so tried the Superbock. The food and drinks came out fairly quick. Not a beer drinker but the Superbock had a rich smooth taste that was ok. The 1/2 Chicken was two 1/4 legs thigh with everything attached. So I had 3 choices at this point rip it apart with my teeth or hands like an extra at a celebration dinner on Game of Thrones or attempt to cut it with a plastic knife. Which do you think I chose? (Insert Jeopardy tune) What is struggled with a plastic knife for $100 Alex. That is correct. (R.I.P. Alex Trebeck) Anyways the chicken was juicy inside but despite the grilled sear marks the chicken skin wasn't crispy enough for me and had a soft baked like texture. The rice was ok flavorful and the garlic bread was crispy and soft. All in all kool place to take out or dine-in even during Covid. The prices are good and worth the portions given. This location is similar to all the other ones I've been to regarding the set up. I recall seeing outdoor seating available on the patio. They also have a hand washing basin nearby the utensils to wash your hands which I appreciate and hand wipes. I was impressed at how quickly our food came out since we were told it would take 12 mins. After we placed our order and paid at the counter, we got our drinks, sauce, and utensils. A minute or two after we sat down our food was ready. I ordered the Plainish quarter leg with a side of mashed potatoes. I tried several sauces and preferred the chicken eaten plain. The chicken was moist and flavorful on its own. The skin was so crispy. I always save the skin to eat last, as that's the best part of the chicken. The mashed potatoes were average. My husband's fries were average, not very crispy but came out warm. When I went to use the restroom after dinner, it took me a minute to figure out how to turn on the faucet due to the unique handles which looked like pipe handle valves. read more

First time trying this place out. I wasn't a fan. The manager was very nice and welcoming.. the staff was not at all. They weren't interested in who was coming in the restaurant. I told the cashier that it was my first time and I asked what would she suggest. She replied with "Anything"... well that certainly helped... The employees were clearly disgruntled. My first time trying this restaurant. I got the peri peri chicken bowl with extra hummus. For an additional side I got the sweet potatoes with feta and pepitas. The sweet potato side dish is a bit spicy but very good!!! I really enjoyed the chicken bowl. All of the food was full of flavor and I prefer the lemon herb sauce. It's my favorite. The Hanover location is busy but has better tasting food than the Waugh Chapel area. The service was quick. read more

Yesterday, we were on our way to Washington w/ a bus group for a "D.C. Cultural & Entertainment Getaway" weekend. First stop....Arundel Mills Mall in Maryland! Yelp as well as the mall directory led us across the street to Nando's Peri-Peri. We thought that we would be eating some Mexican food and went to the front entrance and spoke to the hostess. She was kind enough to give us menus and explain that Nando's Peri-Peri serves African-Portuguese food. Excitement for two reasons....this was our first time trying African-Portuguese food and the menus had such beautiful artwork! I will elaborate in a few... Nando's Peri-Peri has a system in which you order at the front with the cashier (who exuded patience as we asked her questions), pay your bill and then go to your placed table and wait for the server to bring the food. As we waited for our meals, we took time to admire the establishment's lighting/colorful decor which included art on the walls and bulbs hanging from the ceiling. Artist Nqabutho Phakathi has several pieces of her artwork exclusively in the restaurant on their menus, etc. Our gorgeous menu had an African-American woman carrying her infant. Please look up Nqabutho Phakathi's work on social media...just fantastic! Also, it is genius to place some of her art on their menus. Cool personal touches included their "No Judgement Here" napkins as well as Nando's Peri-Peri specialty sauces (range from Plain-ish to Extra Hot). Nice light, refreshing Pineapple Lemonade! The grilled pineapples added a burst of wonderful flavor on my Chicken Burger and my French Fries were well seasoned. I was told that the Quarter Chicken w/ Red Skin Mashed Potatoes was good.
