I had a great experience here at Mezeh. The build you own bowl is very convenient and everything tasted really fresh. It was very flavorful and well seasoned and I love the the topping options! Staff were friendly and patient. The place was well organized too. Def a solid spot esp if you're craving for something quick but still healthy and filing. I'll be back

10.25.25 They held their grand opening on Thursday, October 23, 2025, in the Long Gate Shopping Center, which also features Kohl's, Safeway, Target, and Old Navy. My husband and I visited that Saturday around 11:15 a.m. He was worried it might be crowded given the grand opening weekend, but to our surprise, we were the only customers there. My husband ordered a build-your-own bowl, and I chose the kids' kebab pita tray. I don't typically eat Mediterranean food--it's not usually my first choice when dining out--but I really enjoyed my meal. It was flavorful, satisfying, and felt healthy and nourishing. My husband also liked his meal and said he'd definitely come back. The restaurant offers indoor seating, including counter spots, as well as patio seating. They also accept mobile orders and have a "falafel lane" pick-up window, which I assume functions like a drive-thru. Staff were friendly and welcoming. While writing this review, I just realized that my order was supposed to be served with an apple juice box. Despite this minor oversight, I would certainly return if I'm already in the shopping center.

Haha! Some fun naming there drive-thru, where you order at the window not at a menu-sign

Shopping on a Mon late-morning (Nov 2025), I glanced across the parking lot and saw a new mediterranean Mezeh where a fried chicken place used to be! You can use the drive-through window, where you order right at the window. There's also indoor dining and an umbrella-ed patio. I went to their website, because i was in a drive-thru mood. The front page of the general menu has several categories of bowls and some wraps, including some kids' plates, plus a build-your-own section. $12 to $16 pita-wraps include chicken or falafel, or lamb gyro, and oh boy, Shawarmas! Beef or "classic chicken"! Also combos for those for a few dollars more. I went for the classic shawarma: lightly spiced tender chicken chunks, fresh crunchy wild-like greens, generous hummus, pickled onions, and sauce, wrapped in fresh pita. The sandwich bag looked narrow, but that wrap was enormous! Stuffed to bursting! Deliciously fresh, dripping with lightly spicy harissa and tzaziki sauces. I added creamy sesame-tahini to the offered tangy yogurt-tzaziki because i was so happy to see tahini available :-) I loved that the shawarma was wrapped in a large real-bread pita instead of a flour-tortilla. This was a very tasty, very generous, very juicy wrap! It says spicy, and it's mild and lasting. Perfect for me, but be sure to add more spicy-sauce to get more heat. Pro-tip: Be ready for some messiness! I was eating in my car, so i planned out the placement of the foil-wrap and napkins, to contain all of the yummy juices. And i did well! Until i decided to take some home and tried to get it back in the narrow bag. Darned if i didnt wear some sauces home... The sandwich included a foil wrap, so it was still warm when i got home, and it took a lot to save some for others to taste :-) This classic chicken shawarma was a very fresh, well-planned, delicious pita wrap. And the drive-thru staff was quick and very welcoming!

The freshest Mediterranean food made from scratch at Mezeh is now open in Ellicott City, MD! Serving healthy wraps & bowls with local produce, 100% Halal proteins, 25+ toppings to choose from, & extra virgin olive oil in all recipes!

Overall: fast casual fresh healthy and delicious Mediterranean food with kind service and unique drinks This place just opened last week, so it's super clean. You could tell the employees were still learning the menu, but they were super kind and the food was delicious. We've been going to other Mezeh's for years so we were stoked to get one locally. I've never had anything bad here. I've tried most of the meats and toppings and love them all. Everything is so fresh and flavorful. I always feel full and happy when I'm done. They have some super cool drinks too. They aren't too sweet at all which is super rare to find. I really enjoyed the blueberry cilantro kale carrot and the cucumber mint.

summary: not necessarily perfect, but they just opened, so aside from a couple expected hiccups, a solid experience. Mezeh is a chain with a newly opened store in the Long Gate shopping area. For those unfamiliar, it's pretty similar to CAVA as far as dining experiences go with a few more elevated options available (also at a slightly more premium prices depending on what you order). Aside from a couple of execution hiccups (e.g. wait times and a slightly underdone pita bread), it was still a solid entree. They gave so much food for my greens & grains bowl that I could split it into two separate meals. The venue itself is newly renovated, so it's beautiful, clean, and modern. Solid spot and hope it sticks around for a while!

Wow! This place is awesome. I think I like it better than Cava. So many options and unlimited toppings. The bowls are definitely bigger and the choices are more numerous. I ordered the steak and it was juicy and delicious. The sauces are wonderful and there are so many veggie options as well. Great place! I will be back.

They're finally OPEN! Yesterday was Mezeh's first opening day and they provided patrons win a free bowl along with a drivk purchase! Mezeh's restaurant here in Ellicott City has an ideal location! Remember the old KFC next to Carrabba's? Yup, they're gone and Mezeh has swooped on providing mediterranean liquid gold. They offer bowls and wraps along with sides such as hummus, tzatziki, and feta dip as well as falafel, rice, salads, and other mediterranean accompaniments. I definitely see myself coming back here multiple times for lunch and dinner.

Although the restaurant was chilly, it was popular. I enjoy fresh goodness in a bowl. It did take a white, which allowed for great conversation.

We got a to go order and it was just okay. Everyone ordered a build your own bowl. They were sizable and everyone's ordered was right. I felt like the proteins were a bit stingy. However, I do feel like they are working like a well oiled machine when they just recently opened. They cared about wait time, all the ingredients were ready to build the bowls, and service was great. I'll give it another try, but I'm not sure it will become one of my consistent places.

The lentil soup was not blended (as it should be) and had little to no salt. The shawarma platter (which I thought would be an actual platter not a sandwich with sides), was alright. We then got Syrian black tea with mint, which was decent and like a warm hug. I appreciate that they packed the teabags themselves. Finally, we got a piece of harissa on our way out and it was decent (just a little too cold for my liking). Our waitress was nice and attentive. The ambiance is cute. It was getting really busy too when we were leaving so I'd recommend making reservations. Overall, I think the place really caters to Americans and not people from the region.

I went a few times when it first opened, liked it, and then somehow allowed years to pass, which feels like a personal failure now. After last night's dinner, Xenia is officially back in the rotation. The restaurant itself is gorgeous. It is also much larger than you might expect, with a spacious dining room, a generous bar area, plenty of seating, and outdoor seating as well, which is perfect now that the weather is cooperating instead of personally attacking us. The turquoise blue lighting gives a Santorini rooftop vibe, the murals evoke the Greek islands, and the whole space feels elegant without trying too hard. There is also a white grand piano in the lobby, because apparently Xenia decided that simply being pretty was not enough. The live piano music by Michael Manger was excellent; classy, warm, and exactly right for the space. Service was outstanding. Jose was welcoming as host, and our server, whose name I believe was Nas, was friendly, attentive, and gave excellent recommendations. The staff managed to be polished without being stiff, which is harder to pull off than people think. We skipped appetizers because we were "eating light," a phrase people use right before spending $200 on dinner and dessert. I had the Ahi Tuna "Tonos," which was cooked beautifully, with a very nice crust and clean flavor. My only small critique is that the tuna was a bit on the salty side, especially paired with a wasabi soy sauce, which naturally brings more salt to the party. And I like salt, so if I am saying it was a little salty, it was not whispering. We also had the Chilean Sea Bass "Plaki," and it was genuinely excellent. Chilean sea bass can go wrong quickly; too dry, too oily, too anonymous. This was none of that. It had a crisp, delicate crust, while the fish itself stayed flaky, juicy, and full of flavor. It was one of the best fish preparations I have had at this level of restaurant. For dessert, we had the loukoumades, warm little dough bites with honey, cinnamon, and powdered sugar. These were dangerous in the way that small desserts are dangerous, because you can keep pretending each one does not count. We also had the baklava, which tasted freshly made in house, with real honey and a nice balance of sweetness. Rich, a little dense in the best way, and served with ice cream, because restraint had already left the building. Overall, Xenia delivered: beautiful ambiance, excellent service, great live music, generous space, outdoor seating, and very strong food. It is not cheap; dinner for two was about $200 before tip. But at this price point, I felt like we got what we paid for. I would highly recommend Xenia Greek Kouzina to anyone in the Columbia area looking for upscale Mediterranean food, excellent seafood, and a setting that makes a regular weeknight feel like you made better life choices.
