I haven't had potbelly in years. One of the doctors used to treat us to potbelly sandwiches. Which I thought was very nice of him. That was my introduction. We had a variety to choose from. I was in the mood for a turkey and Swiss cheese sub. I forgot how good they tasted. I added mayo, lettuce, pickles, onions, red peppers, jalapenos. All on grain bread. It was soooooooo delicious!! I placed my order online. They had a special going on thru Doordash. Buy one get one free. Definitely had to place that order. I also ordered the jalapenos potato chips. I think from now on my sub craving will be satisfied from potbelly. They do have indoor and outdoor seating available. I have to say they have the most flavorful toppings. My sandwich tasted exactly how I expected as it typically does. Consistent with most Potbellys I've visited. From the person that took my order and prepped the bread meat and cheese for the toaster, through the person that added the condiments, to the person at the register...all service with a greeting and a pleasant attitude. There were a few individuals dining in seated in the booths along the wall when I arrived, all adults but this is definitely a kid friendly option. I ordered lunch online from Potbelly on Friday. It was my first time visiting this specific location. I ordered the pick two combo with a ham and provolone sandwich and a cup of the broccoli cheese soup. Both were delicious. Only complaint was they kind of overdid it with thw mustard on my sandwich as it was dripping off as I ate it. I also ordered a whole pickle and it was delicious and fresh. I came back to Potbelly today, excited to have a quick and easy sandwich. Unfortunately, I did not feel particularly satisfied from this visit. First, I ordered a Pizza Melt but received a Mamma's Meatball sandwich. The employees asked me three times which sandwich I ordered, and I continually answered Pizza Melt, but they always asked "was it the Mamma's Meatball?" Second, I asked for oil and Italian seasoning as toppings, which I have never previously had problems with. However, today the employee who prepared my sandwich doused it in the most oil and Italian seasoning I have ever had from Potbelly. When I tried to eat the sandwich, it was literally bubbling out oil. The Italian seasoning left a very sharp and noticeably stronger-than-usual flavor that I found unpleasant. Extremely disappointed. Idk what this person was on, but never in my life has someone added so many pickled jalapeños to a sandwich in my life. There were so many, I would think I got them all out, but then they were still in there. The issue was not the spice level, as mine are high, it was that my whole sandwich tasted like I was biting into a huge pickled Jalapeño. Did they pour the juice from the jar in it? It was drenched with it. I could barely taste the turkey or the avocado. I've worked at a sandwich place myself and this was insane to me even. Potbelly's is my new favorite lunchtime spot. I've only been here three times and I love it. My favorite sub is the Clubby. It has ham, turkey and bacon on it. I add ranch, lettuce and hot peppers and it taste amazing. They heat their meat on the bread and unlike other sub shops, the bread does not become hard and crispy after being heated. We swung by here after running some errands this afternoon. We've always seen it but never went in. I can say parking on a Saturday afternoon was really tough given the location and other restaurants nearby. I got the grilled chicken and cheddar while my husband got a gyro flatbread. My poor Uber waited over 30 minutes for my priority order. I finally called and was placed on hold. They should just not make it available on Uber Eats if they are too busy. The hot peppers are absolutely incredible, and the mac & cheese was really good too. I was totally stuffed. I think for the money, it's a super value, and especially on Fridays, I truly appreciate the free cookie they give you with military ID. Oatmeal chocolate chip is my absolute favorite cookie. I got a veggie sandwich which I love from them. It's cheezy, it's warm and it has plenty of lettuce (I am a fan). Sandwiches are made to order and they have a few different sizes you can choose from. I like Potbelly's, and this location isn't really any better or worse than any others. However, they get a large lunch crowd, and to alleviate it, they have someone come around with an iPad and take your general order (meat, cheese, bread). This seems useful at first glance, but you find yourself and others trying to tell the condiment people which is yours, which leads to a large crowd in one area, a lot of shouting, and in my case, a messed up order. If there's one food I dislike, it's wheat bread... But I ended up with wheat bread the other day because of this system. A guy two in front of me and a lady three people behind me ordered the same thing as me, but both with wheat bread. I obviously ended up with one of their sandwiches, even though I said to the condiment guy WHITE BREAD several times. Wow. It's not easy giving Potbelly's one star, but today was a disaster. This store (Arundel Mills) used to be so top notch too. Ordered a skinny sandwich with extra mushrooms. Asked for all the trimmings minus oil and Italian seasonings. Paid, got to my car and opened the wrapper to get a half out. What greeted me was a shimmering blob of mayonnaise between the two halves. I picked up half thinking it just an anomaly and inspected it. It was DRIPPING with mayo. How is this a 'skinny'? I put it back in the bag and went back in. Of course all the little additional annoyances were in play, like I had been forced to park a distance from the store, the staff were busy with this and that and couldn't get to me quickly, etc. When the employee came out with my remade sandwich she dropped it on the table and muttered 'sorry' as she hurried away.
