On our first night at the resort in Princeville, Kauai, we decided to ease into vacation mode with some food and drinks at Nanea Restaurant & Bar, located right on the property. We grabbed seats at the bar and were greeted right away by the bartender, who was attentive and friendly. To start, we shared the Brussels sprouts, and for the main dish we split the shrimp carbonara, which turned out to be the star of the evening--creamy, flavorful, and perfectly satisfying. For drinks, Miori ordered a hazy IPA on tap, while I went with a Cadillac margarita. Both were excellent choices that paired well with the food. When it was time to wrap up, paying by card was quick and easy, and we left a tip before heading out. Between the great service, tasty food, and laid-back atmosphere, it was the perfect way to kick off a few days in paradise.

The restaurant reopened for business on Mother's Day after a renovation. We took advantage of HH from M-F 2p-4p. Saving $3 off selected cocktails and $6 for certain beers. As the restaurant just reopened it had a certain industrial odor. Thank goodness for the openness facing the ocean. We had dinner on our last night. Great service. Ordered - * hubby had the rib eye steak * daughter & I both had the glazed pork chop bone in. Great presentation and our food well seasoned. The local honey used on food & beverage grown by the mixologist Chris. He's very friendly and approachable. His honey is sold at the market located onsite. Overall a nice dining experience with live music at dinner time. Located at Westin Princeville.

Food was just average, service was good and ambiance was quiet and relaxed. If you're staying at the Westin, the draw is certainly convenience to drive anywhere. But the menu felt lacking and just average. Nachos poke and the chips that came other entree sides were stale and oily. Quesadilla with kalua pork was overwhelming. Papaya salad was pretty good - light and refreshing if you are not super hungry. They do have kids meals as well - fish (surprisingly flavorful) plate was preferred over the steak (too chewy/dry). They do have a Prime Rib special (comes with salad and dessert) on Mondays as well.

Lovely views of the Ocean and well groomed resort. Menu a bit limited though food is well prepared don't expect gourmet elegance in the food but it is OK. Staff is pleasant and attentive yet at peaks times there could a couple more on the dining floor. Easy if you're staying on property. Good to provide a view of the resort given the food options in the Primceville area it is certainly worth a visit. Lunch might be the best time given menu options

We ended our trip here for dinner. The view is casual, yet absolutely stunning at sunset. It was an amazing meal, we tried just about everything on the menu. Our server was a delight and so sweet. She let us accommodate the sides to our dinners which was great. You have the option to order all day happy hour during dinner for a fun tropical drink. I'd recommend literally anything. We loved it all.

What's better than dining at the resort you're vacationing at? Tanning all day, adding a few drinks, then heading back to shower before your 7 PM reservation! Yay! I'm usually not a fan of resort restaurants, but Nanea was a solid choice. The menu isn't my favorite overall, only because I'm not big on pork and short ribs, but they had a fresh catch of Mahi Mahi--Bingo! I'm in. Our party of 8 ordered a mix of everything, from starters to burgers, and when the food arrived, it all looked so good! My Mahi Mahi? Delicate, fresh, and melt-in-your-mouth good. My daughter's wagyu burger was also a hit. Everyone at the table was happy with their meals. And just when I thought the night couldn't get better, my little resort cat--who had been visiting our villa--showed up at our table. We named her Kukua, and the staff said she and several other cats try to visit. They shushed the cat out so quick! So all you cat haters, be happy. I would've been happier to dine with my feral friend. Next up! Dessert! We ordered all four options: pineapple sorbet, coconut cake, ube cheesecake, and hazelnut crème brûlée. Because life is too short to skip dessert! Each one was amazing in its own way, and we had zero regrets. Our server (maybe Brian? Will?) was awesome--attentive, friendly, and made the night even better. Big thanks to him! Not the best wine menu, but they do offer some fun drink concoctions! But if you like plain drinks like me, then stick to your go-to drink. I stuck with my gin and tonic splash of sprite extra lime ....it was goood! If you're staying at the resort and want a great meal without the hassle of driving anywhere, Nanea is the way to go. Good food, great vibes, and the perfect stumble-back-to-your-villa experience when you're full and buzzed. Aloha & Mahalo!

We enjoyed a nice dinner here. It's a restaurant in a hotel where there aren't a lot of dining options. We wanted to walk to dinner and the next closest place is a mile away. There is seating inside and outside. Prices aren't insane. We had the fish and chips and fish tacos. It was the same fish for both, it was a good texture and a good portion. The fries are REALLY good, but hardly any dishes come with them. It's a $4 up charge, but they are really good. The service was good. Our server was around just enough. They close promptly at 7:45 PM which is annoying. The bar had a big rush at 7:40, they'll keep serving whoever is already in the restaurant, but they shut the doors to the restaurant at 7:45. This seems too early, but it is Kauai, not Oahu.

Walked over to Westin's Nanea Restaurant a couple of weeks ago for an early dinner. First off, if you are looking to really get in to vacay mode, skip the mai tai and hit the Thai Chi!! Holy vacation mode...this will definitely get you there QUICK!! Service is always friendly, just understaffed like most of Kauai. So order your cocktail and settle in for a chill experience. If you are in a hurry (why?!) then, let your waitstaff know up front. Not saying this will help, but at least they will know why your vibe is fired up. ‍ Today we started with the lettuce wraps. An absolutely MUST!! Then I had the Hawaiian Plate ( i was craving this!!) and my daughter ordered the seafood curry (first time trying). Hawaiian plate was on point!! And that seafood curry is so ono... OMG so happy we had leftovers!! Usually i would get their signature ube cheesecake, but today i had the ube colada. Beautiful and delish!! In short, wonderful food...slow down and enjoy people watching with really strong drinks!!

What Makes The Staff Amazing Is It Was Almost Closing Time But Have Decided To Order Coffee But The Coffee Bar Was Already What Happen Was Napua Our Server Went To Get Starbucks Just To Accomodate my request That I Felt So Privillage And did not hesitate to walk a mile just get my request.

Good service. Food is ok. Convenient but expensive place to dine if you are too lazy to go elsewhere. The ambiance is classic open air setting at the resort with decent views of the pools and ocean in the far distance. There's usually live music to bring it all together.

Lettuce wraps were very tasty and refreshing.

We decided to have a nice dinner at the Nanea the last night on the island. We were going to do the pre fixe meal, which looked appetizing, but there were other tasty options offered on the menu that I went for instead. My husband had the Beef Tenderloin pre fixe with a Cesar salad and cream Brûlée. The salad came right away, looking a bit over dressed with soggy lettuce leaves, and croutons. The steak was fabulous, however, beautifully plated with the local purple mash and lovely carrots sitting on a pool of silky brown gravy. The steak was cooked to perfection and the mash and carrots a perfect accompaniment. I had the coconut shrimp and lettuce wraps for dinner and loved what I ate. The shrimp was crunchy and tender on the inside. The wraps were loaded with very tender, teriyaki beef strips and a spicy pineapple salsa. It was all sitting on a fresh lettuce leaf and super refreshing to eat. The meal was great and our server very attentive. The view couldn't be better of the pool and Pacific in the distance. They also have nightly entertainment here, so we were serenaded by a local musician which made it all the more special.

Request a table near the windows for a sunset view. We arrived and were greeted and seated immediately. Shortly afterwards we were served complementary spicy edamame. We ordered three appetizers to share. Brussel Sprouts & Cauliflower, Black Garlic & Yuzu Ahi Tartar and Vietnamese Style Sashimi. The Brussel Sprouts & Cauliflower was excellent, golden raisins and pine nuts add sweetness and texture, balsamic vinegar counters with wonderful acid contrast. The Black Garlic & Yuzu Ahi Tartar is simply fabulous, one of the best bites I have ever had. I first had this dish two years ago when it was introduced as a new dish in a prefix meal. On that trip we returned to enjoy the dish once again. Had it again last year as I travel to Kauai each year. I'm happy to see it is still on the menu! Our third dish was the Vietnamese Style Sashimi and it was okay, although a bit underwhelming for Eating House standards. It was fresh but lack the complexity that I have grown to expect from this restaurant. We requested some wasabi and it helped with the flavors. My thinking is the jalapeño oil should have been more concentrated or pronounced. To be clear I did not complain, regardless the dish was removed from our bill. Very nice. Thank you. The front desk staff guided me to the elevator. This trip was for my birthday. In every reservation when asked about a special occasion, I put birthday. This was the first restaurant to acknowledge my special day. The check-in staff wished me well as did the server. We had been to several restaurants prior to Eating House that didn't say a word. Kudos to the staff for its kindness. The restaurant is open air and very comfortable. It has a rustic feel. We were seated by the window on a cool, rainy night but were perfectly dry the whole evening. On top of that, our server was very helpful in guiding us to order the right amount of food. He brought us a serving of edamame which is always on the house. The shrimp & pork potstickers were very good. I had the ramen which was tasty, filling and a great choice. Our server was terrific to put the spicy oil on the side which made it easier for me to eat. My husband had the butterfish which is the best I have ever tasted. It is a signature dish and always a pleaser. The only real downside is the limited menu. We were told that because of a staff shortage, it wasn't the typical menu. This was disappointing. But they did have the best of the Roy's dishes. So far, it has been the best experience that we have had in Poipu.

Started meal with honeycomb with cheese, apples & crackers., cucumber salad, broccoli with burrata & bruschetta. All were very good. Bruschetta was slightly spicier than last time - extra Calabrian chile, I guess. We had two orders of broccoli - one without almonds due to food allergy. Charred just right w/ sauce & burrata. Great combo of flavors. Had the lentils, Kauai shrimp, papas ajo ( potatoes), filet with horseradish scalloped potatoes next. They were all great as usual. The filet was so tender you could easily cut it with a regular knife. And the scalloped potatoes were creamy with a taste of horseradish which I had never had before. We agreed it was excellent. I'd like to try to recreate at home. For dessert, we ordered 2 lilikoi cheesecakes & 1 lemon crumble ice cream. The cheesecake is particularly light & creamy - the favorite for 3 of us. Lemon curd ice cream is refreshing with pistachios on top. All in all we agreed Bar Acuda is our favorite restaurant in Kauai & a favorite, period, no matter where dining. The host said to wait in the lobby while they waited for a 4 person table to free up. 20 minutes later after seeing many people leave the restaurant I figured there had to be a table available so I went and asked the hostess what the status was and they said they didn't know we were waiting for a table. The hostess said "nobody told me" Uhh... hello? You took my phone number and I received an opentable text that I had a reservation. Who is telling who? It should be in your system in front of you. The hostess shrugged and said sorry. The infuriating part of this was sitting there in the waiting area being ignored by all the staff while watching the hostesses and the valet parking guys flirt and talk gossip. We were obviously not a priority and they were "checked out" for the evening since it was almost closing time. They did finally seat us and we ordered the mai-tais, but sadly they were not the same. The foam (which is what makes the mai tai so great) was really sour - not the same as you can get from the original restaurant. More broadly, I thought with this being such a nice restaurant, they would make more of an attempt to say they were sorry about ignoring us, but they didn't.
