THE BEST FOOD EVER! We ate here twice this week. Such amazing dinner entrees and wonderful service. Beautiful wooden tables and chairs, relaxing, lovely atmosphere. The first night my husband had the grilled pork with jasmine rice and seasonal veggies. I had the New York steak with sautéed mushrooms and port wine peppercorn cream sauce, mashed potatoes (the best!) and seasonal veggies. We had the Sand pie for dessert. A layer of French vanilla ice cream, a layer of Kona Coffee ice cream, and a Carmel macadamia nut crust. Really good local place. They were a little slow when we arrived, which isn't an issue usually. But the other table had a couple of guys who had just finished golfing and were talking a little loud. We ordered the lobster ravioli, two salads, the coconut shrimp and the mahi mahi sautéed in a capers and white wine sauce. The salads were both great and huge. Next time we will split one. I loved the peanut sauce dressing. So good! The lobster ravioli was cheese ravioli with a lobster cream sauce. Very good too. The Mahi Mahi was light and flaky, served over buttery mashed potatoes and veggies. Excellent! The coconut shrimp were huge, crunchy in a kind of sweet chili sauce with rice and veggies. Really good! My husband and I came here for happy hour food. We ordered the spring roll, chicken satay and pork tenderloin. Everything was wonderful and delicious. Th only thing we were disappointed in was the spring roll appetizer. When it was served to us, it was served on a generous portion of spring mix, but the spring roll appeared to be, what was a whole spring roll cut in half. (Spring rolls are already small in size to begin with) they took a whole one, cut it in half and cut the half piece into small slices (the size of a toothpick). Went there on a rainy day. It was very delicious. We tried the Hoisin ribs as appetizers and wish we had gotten more. I ordered the lemongrass seafood stew and it was soooo delicious. I just wish they gave me more rice to help soak up the sauce. The proportion of the stew to the rice given was a bit off. I finished the rice first even though I rationed it from the beginning. I got the mild spice level and kind of wish I had gone up to medium as it didn't feel like it had any spice at all. My husband got the pork dish and he loved it. The seafood in my dinner was plentiful and tender and just enough spice in the curry sauce to give it some heat without being too hot. And I was asked if I wanted medium spice or hot. It was perfect and succulent! The hubs' was the showstopper, though. Best fish I've ever had AND the best meal I have had on Kauai, thus far. You've heard the descriptive, "melts in your mouth"? It literally did, I kid you not. Delicious flavor and the crust was nutty and out of this world! I cannot compliment the chef enough. The ambience was like a tiki hut...very comfortable and cozy.
