Called at 1:00 on Saturday for my mom and I as an early Mother's Day present. They had availability right when I called so I said we would be there in 30 minutes. There is parking in the back you can either enter by Sherwin Williams or on Kahoaloha Ln. My mom got a mani pedi and I got a full set. Although there was a slight miscommunication at first I wanted the nails that was on the sample they had but it was not understood. But it wasn't an issue I loved my nails and how short they were. Usually nail techs don't like to make it short because they think it looks ugly when it's short. My mom loved her mani & pedi and said her legs felt soft after. My nails are still going strong after 6 weeks only my right pointer came off, everything else is going strong and barely any lifting!! Will definitely be back.

The bottom of my feet feels like a baby's butt!

Romping around barefoot, will make the soles of your feet cracked and callus. Every couple of years I will soak my feet in Salicylic Acid and 7 days latter my skin starts peeling and exfoliating. Then I'll go for a pedicure. I'm a manicure persons nightmare. Walked in today and asked them to make the soles of my feet feel like a baby's butt. Loved the service I receive today. * Soaked and scrubbed my feet MULTIPLE of times and removed most of the exfoliating skin. Most salons give up after two attempts and resort to more aggressive exfoliating techniques. Nani's will not do aggressive exfoliating techniques that causes pain and rawness to the skin. They will not do blading, which is illegal in Hawaii. * Most salons will try to do a upsell of paraffin hot wax, but she did not because she knew it was in effective with chemical peels like Salicylic Acid. * Gently removed three years of cuticles without being overly aggressive and left a clean edge. * Detailed oriented. This is the only salon that has ever filed the ridges of my toenails smooth. All the other nail salons only filed the tip of my nails. * Hygienic. Basin to soak feet is lined with a plastic liner and thrown away after each use. Tools are soaked in disinfectant after each use. The Drummondville file tip was thrown away after use. * Family owned and operated for 10 years- husband, wife and nephew. The three work together as a team. Wife was trained at a high-end nail salon and her technique reflects that. * Knowledgeable, honest and does not aggressively upsell. Another customer showed them a picture. The wife stated that there was two ways of achieving it. One was with sparkle nail polish, and there is no extra charge, or put the sparkles in the gel which would be five dollars more. I asked if I could add sparkles, so she added two more layers of nail polish without charging me and told me that the nail polish needed time to dry. So I spent 20 minutes relaxing in the massage chair. - Pedicure massage chairs are at an angle so it does not promote conversation/ socialization among customers. - I have had better foot, toes and leg massage but I did not purchase the spa or deluxe package. - Lots of repeat customers, so an appointment is highly recommended. * Free parking in the back of the building but no safe walkway to front of store. Metered street parking in front of store.

We were doing our senior mani/pedi elsewhere in Honolulu until a change in ownership. Glad we found and checked out Nani Nails Salon. Jenny serviced me and she's excellent. She does nails like how I regularly get in San Francisco. Nice to find a new shop that we'll be coming back regularly. Jenny is personable, knowledgeable, careful and attentive to details. Nani nails salon is such a gem! With free parking in the back of their location you can't go wrong. The owner is super good at what he does and his prices are fair. I always make sure to call ahead of time to see what the wait is or if they can squeeze me in. They normally can always accommodate. They also give 10% discount or something like that to University of Hawaii at Mānoa students if you have a student ID which is so nice. I wish I knew that when I was a student lol This has been my new nail spot since moving to this area. Mahalo for always hooking ya gorl up!

I love this salon! My tail tech absolutely perfected the shape I was wanting and gave me the best recommendations on color (I'm very indecisive). I normally leave most salons with mixed feelings but I couldn't be happier on how my nails turned out! 10/10

Made an appointment with them for Birthday acrylics and I couldn't be more happy. I had an idea in mind, and my technician was more than accommodating. The edges of the nails were cleaned straight.

This is my favorite nail salon! This is my 4th visit and everything is cleaned before your sat down and precautions are very well done, not once felt uncomfortable..they know how to use the tools properly and will not hurt at all this is something I always had issues with other salons but never Nani Nails. Also, the massage for a deluxe pedicure was unbelievably great! I'm so happy with the end outcome

Jennie did an excellent meticulous job and of the many gel manis, I should say it is one of the best by far My spa pedi made my feet feel I could do a 10k hike..... This place could be my new salon of choice. By the way- street and building parking plentiful

It was my first time here, and it was almost as bad as you could possibly get. I went with my friend, who had Jenny as her nail tech. Her nails came out amazing and was completely satisfied. Half of a star is for Jenny for making my friend happy. On the other hand, I got stuck with a nervous male who didn't seem to know what he was doing for the life of him. I started my manicure (full acrylic set) at least a full 15 minutes before my friend started hers because she had to get nails taken off. He was extremely quiet, but I sat back and minded my own business. I started noticing that he had trouble glueing on the nails, and began to compensate by putting an amount of glue I've never seen before. He took any excess glue and smeared it on my filed down nail, but I gave it a pass. I requested a narrow coffin shape, to which Jenny replied that he would file down later. He became extremely meticulous with the shape of my nails, and took way longer than I had expected. Next, he started to use the acrylic powder to shape my nails. The amount that he used once again made me anxious, but I said nothing. I figured that Jenny (who was next to him) would correct him if he was wrong. As he finished each finger, he would leave the hardening liquid-powder formula on my skin, making it hard and dry in multiple areas. I found one ball and picked it off, but I had areas on at least three other fingers that I washed off later. He started filing down my nails again, and I could tell he was getting nervous. He began to file faster and more recklessly, cutting my left thumb and creating tender spots on others. By the time he was finished with just the base of my acrylic set, it had been two hours and my friend next to me had been done for a hot minute. Jenny then called her husband over to finish the job (probably) due to seeing the looks on my face after two hours. He then, in a friendly yet rushed manner, finished an ombre design that I had requested. As he was polishing my top coat, he stopped for a second with my pinky and ring finger on my left hand. I felt something was wrong, but he said nothing, so I thought it was a fluke. At this point, I was extremely tired (I had been out since before 6 am) and just wanted to leave. I paid and rushed out, thankful for being able to leave at all. The other half star is for his service. After further inspection upon leaving, I noticed that the color had bare spots, was not as gradient as I had hoped, and varies from nail to nail. Hardened acrylic was stuck to the underside of my nail, as well as the sides where it clings to my skin. If I run my finger down the sides of my nails, two of them are jagged to a point. My left pinky and ring finger are uneven. White nail polish and hardened acrylic were left on my skin, and I got no hand massage or lotion like my friend did. My nails hurt for the first time in YEARS. After all the time spent in the salon, I got no compensation despite the obvious look of distaste on my face. I'll be calling in the morning to get my money back or schedule a fix, but that's my last handout. After I get things sorted, I'm never returning. UPDATE (11/21): I called right after work and Jenny saw me immediately. She explained that her brother (the first guy) wasn't comfortable doing acrylics yet. She then asked her husband to finish the job, who obviously didn't. She fixed everything for FREE, and was showing other nail techs how to properly shape acrylics and fade gel polish. She even added some glitter! It looks AMAZING now. Jenny really cares about her business, loves her job, and cares for her customers. She's really busy, but ask for Jenny!

Moral of yesterday's manicure: YOU MUST ASK FOR JENNY OR TAI. This was my third time for a gel manicure & another time I came for an eye brow wax. This place is a couple blocks from my office so previously I have just gone on my lunch break and it took a little over an hour (maybe hour and twenty minutes at the most). It is usually very convenient. Yesterday, my manicure took TWO hours. WITHOUT A "HAND MASSAGE". No fade, no nail art, no rhinestones, and one less coat of paint than the previous times. After the two hour mark, she asked if I wanted a hand massage so I said yes since usually that is part of what you're paying for... But then I changed my mind and I figured I had to hurry back to work after taking a 2+ hour long lunch break... All three times I have come here, I have asked for half moon with a glitter line. The half moon design grew out nicely and I actually left my manicure on for over 2 months because that's how long it lasted. My friends kept asking where I got my nails done (since we're so cheap & $50-$60 for 2+ months is definitely worth it). The second time I came, I went to Jenny. Still amazing and the gel lasted over 3 months. I was in love with this place. Yesterday I asked for half moon with glitter and even showed her a picture of my previous manicure and she didn't understand. She painted my nail black then used a brush to remove the paint to make the half moon. When she showed me if it was correct, it was pretty much a straight line. I asked her to to make it more curved. She tried again but it was convex and not concave. Then the guy next to her finally explained what I wanted. But then the glitter line. Some the the glitter doesn't even touch the edge of the polish and while others don't even extend to the edge of my nail. They ended up not charging me for "the line" (total was about $42 before tip), which I was thankful for. And when I paid they offered to fix it but I couldn't stay longer than two hours... So that part is my fault. Now I know that I need to come when I am not crunched for time. But does anyone really want to spend that much time trying to fix a manicure? Also, I have a white "scuff" on my middle finger after less than a day. So it's looking like this manicure isn't lasting as long as the previous ones... Overall it doesn't look horrible from a distance but I guess after going to Tai & Jenny and getting perfect nails that seemed to last forever, my expectations were SO high that I was thoroughly disappointed... read more

Jennie and Tai are both great at what they do. So professional, friendly and accommodating. I come in every month for my nails and maybe every other month for a pedicure. I was in dire need of a pedicure, but since moving out to the east side I have yet to find a place with great service and beautiful designs...until now!! I called ahead to check wait time, and Tai took me as soon as I got to the shop. My pedicure was excellent from start to finish. Cleaned up cuticles, smooth soles and heels with a beautiful, creative design. All of the products they used were brought out in little wooden bowls, not hand-scooped out of a big container or squirt on from a bottle. There was no sharp cutting with razors, just a good pumice stone scrub...no over cutting the sides of the nails too, which I appreciate! Tai didn't skimp on the leg scrub or massage, and the paraffin wax finish made my feet soft again! The salon is next to the Vietnamese restaurant and kuhio elementary school. There's ample parking in the back (free) or metered stalls in the front (not so free, but still cheap). If you're coming from the east side, it's a small side street just after getting off the freeway after the humane society. Nani nail salon, 5 stars....I'll be back! read more

I'm giving it a 4 out of 5 stars for what it is: a discount nail salon. Pros: - Affordable prices! It is $65 for the Deluxe Spa Pedi & Mani which is hard to find on the island. - They give student discounts. I apparently look like a student and got a discount without asking. - Great at massaging. It's not a 5 star resort kindve massage but they took their time even when they got busy. - Had Friends on TV. They had TBS on and a bunch of old magazines to read for entertainment if you aren't the social kind. - Always asked approval. Again, it's no high-end spa but they made sure I was comfortable and asked my approval along the way with my nails/color. Cons: - I called for a reservation in advance and when I showed up they didn't have it on record. Despite this, they made sure they took me at the time of my appointment and didn't make me feel rushed or unwanted and apologized if there was inconvenience. - Nails aren't consistent. Because some of my nails are shorter than others (I work with my hands) some are flat and others rounded. - Paint job isn't the best. I'm not good at doing French Tips so it's good enough for me. - They don't use real "Gel" for Gel Nails. I was reading online the differences between Gel and Acrylic and it said there should be no powder in gels and many discount places will try to pass this off as Gel. I did not get fake nails but someone else did and they were explaining Gels with using powder. Overall, it was affordable way for me to relax and get pampered more than usual. 4 Stars! read more

I've been coming here for my 6 manicures and I can say I love this place so much. Jenny and Tai are amazing people, they're cute and so fun to talk to! They are so talented! Hey all Jenny is the best by far on any scale. I had the pleasure meeting her for the first time for her famous 3D flower design. Even the Dentist who I worked for commented on her artistic talent!!! Then I referred as many people, it was easy once they saw my nails. Including the first 2 people who did their review!!! How could I have not come here earlier in time?! This place is great! The service is good; they know how to read and react. I wanted to be alone and quiet, and they didn't force any conversations out of me. The place is so sanitary that they place plastic covering in the feet washers for every customer. They understand what you want, and don't solicit or force you for any upsells if you obviously know what you want. They did a great job on my gel acrylic coffin nails. I got a pedi with it too. Total was about $77, excluding up. This just might be my new favorite nail salon. read more

Negative STARS!! I wanted to try this place out since it was in town and had great reviews. Well Jenny's nephew started on my nails because she was with a client. I was having a hard time picking a color so he said I could try one of the ones I liked. Well I ended up not liking it. I told him it looks more salmon color than pink, he said after another coat it will look more like the sample. Well it didn't so I wanted a different color. I didn't know they closed at 7 but perhaps I should have known since I was the only person in there. So since they were closing soon, Jenny said to take off the color I didn't like and they literally had me leave with only half of my nails done!!!! So I have 5 nails done and the other 5 have nothing and aren't even filed!!! Never ever going back. Worst customer service. read more

Came here out of convenience and availability. I was sat right away for my mani-pedi and the atmosphere was friendly, clean, and inviting. $39 for mani pedi, so that was good for me. Included a soak, scrub, and massage so A++ for that. I almost fell asleep. Very relaxing. Convenient parking lot just behind their shop. Cons: My pedicure was finished in about 45 minutes which was what I expected would be the amount that both services would take. The manicure however took over an hour for a simple red polish. My gripe with all manicures is when the polish doesn't reach my cuticle and this was the case for my experience. You can see the crooked lines at the base of my nail near cuticle and also see where one coat ends and the other begins. Minor details, but still. Great place for convenience, but allow more time than you might think. The time wouldn't have been a problem on any other day, but I wish in a rush and the delay made me late for every other appointment I had that day prior to a photoshoot in the evening. read more

I had a gift certificate that was quickly expiring so I headed out for some shiny nye nails and pampering. Even brought my husband along to treat him to his first pedicure (hilarious). Only planned on getting us both pedicures but after finding out they did nail art I was intrigued and decided to give it a whirl. Jenny was awesome saying just show me a photo of what I wanted and she could make it happen--and boy did she!! Not only did she do some serious pairing skills on my teeny tiny fingernails (literally, I have the smallest nails ever) her work was incredibly detailed! Not to mention I am now on week three with my nail art (and gel application) and my nails haven't chipped at all! Well worth the money--and such warm, kind family running the salon. I will definitely be a return client--I have total faith in Jenny's skill and creativity! And their prices are beyond reasonable! read more

The owners are very nice and accommodating. The shop is smaller, clean, and they always cover the pedicure tubs with plastic wrap which I appreciate. I like to call a day or two in advance for appointments. They are usually booked up the day of. Great spot! read more

It was my first time at this Nail Salon and I must say I am a customer for life! Jenny assisted I asked for the Deluxe Spa Pedicure and Nail art with gel. She was a but surprised that a guy asked for nail art we both chuckled at the fact. I was very pleased with her work. Clean and beautiful nails! I fell in love with her work and who can beat the $65 price tag! I will be going back real soon, I just have to figure out the next design for my nails :) read more

This place is great ! I come to this salon specifically for a gel pedi. I always walk out satisfied. My massage is great, my toes are all parallel and look good. Great color selection as well. I've gone to other places and they are always well over priced. When my feet don't need much attention, I just get my gel color changes and it only runs me about 15-20 dollars. NEW FAVORITE NAIL SALON! Never going anywhere else! First of all, everyone was so friendly! Parking in the back and there were many open stalls which was awesome. I came in without a clue on what to do and Jenny gave the best ideas! She really made my nails look like a hundred bucks! She also educated me on my nails. I used to do the LCN or resin nails however she explained to me how bad it actually is when not done properly (which it wasn't done right at all). She knows her stuff! So I will be coming here very often! Prices were super reasonable! I can't express how much I love this place! read more

My friend treated me to a pedicure here, as she comes here regularly. Loved it! Prices are reasonable & service is friendly. They messed up on one of my toes & then woman tried to fix it, ended up taking all of the polish off and starting over, so it did take a bit longer, BUT I appreciate that she cares about the quality. I would prefer for someone to take their time/start over than rush and do a poor job. Happy with this place & will be coming back! read more

I absolutely love this place. I am lucky to live around the corner. I go every 2 weeks usually and have never been disappointed. I am forced to go without right now and my pedicure is still perfect. It's been over 3 weeks. I am missing a chip from one toe, but otherwise, ocean, hiking. It's a pedicure that doesn't quit! I love my polka dots! As someone who is particular. No one takes as much care to make sure everything is synced between feet. I can't say enough about how much I love this place. read more

My daughter and I found this gem through Yelp! They were able to take us as their last appointment and was so patient. Jenny and her husband are a great team. Their shop is so clean on the inside and her husband gave a wonderful pedicure. My gel manicure looks fantastic and Jenny prides herself on taking care of her customers...which she does! My daughter is going to Disneyland with her boyfriend and she wanted a Minnie Mouse theme, Jenny's artwork is first rate...we both can't get over how wonderful our nails look ! read more

Noriko explained that these custom lashes that I was asking for would take a little longer than my original scheduled appointment. So I would have to come back at a later time to do it. My first appt was at 2pm and then I came back again at 5pm after her other appt. It would be nice to have an option for "New Client Appt" perhaps next time so we can discuss what the client is looking for and have some buffer time if need be. As well the location is a little hard to find. It's within a parking lot. They do validate parking but you still have to pay $6. The quality of the lashes is wonderful. It's been now 2 1/2 weeks and the retention is great.

I never write reviews but i am absolutely blown away by Rina's skills. My lashes have never looked…read morebetter! She is so knowledgeable, and detailed oriented with her work. She was able to accommodate me last minute for a removal and full set after an awful gluey mess done elsewhere and i'm so glad she was able to. My lashes are now so neat, fluffy and most importantly healthy! 10/10

I really debated on reviewing my visit because I seriously despise doing one star review but I just…read morewanted to cry with the whole experience!! I do very little make up because at work I'm covered head to toe and stand 10+ hours everyday besides recovering from a broken ankle so tend to spoil my feet. I just love the holiday BLING!! Love love love it!! So I decided to get a head start before the madness kicks in and did a convenient online booking for 10:30am with Albee and was so excited, it's at a convenient location on Beretania right after One Kalakaua with private parking lot and how can you not get giddy as you enter the pink palace filled with beautiful decor. I waited as Albee I imagined was busy on her phone which I didn't mind and waited a few minutes and as she got started was still on her phone and apologized but I seriously didn't mind as we all are constantly multi tasking in some form which I why I wanted to get this done. I booked a pedi with art so that they're aware and not upset that I changed services or whatever and showed her a couple of inspired pictures and she didn't seemed impressed. I wanted a dark red glittery base with some silver gradient color she said no can't do glitter on glitter and went on to cut my nails without asking...mind you I was growing it for over a month just for this purpose. It was cut SHORT AND CROOKED!! Also nicked my cuticles and painted the ugliest flat red with a fade a five year old would do better. Paid $50 ($45 service + $5 art) and had the nerve if I was gonna leave tip which I did because I believe in that. There was nothing she agreed with me not the color I chose, no glitter polish, no art, she chose the color, no customer service but I certainly guarantee one thing...No Thanks!! Sorry I interrupted your phone call.
