This review is specifically for delivery via Yelp Grubhub. This restaurant business is a combination of Chinese/West Indian/Thai cuisine. At week's end for a very weary Saturday, I could not move my body to get out to attain brunch but decided to give delivery the o' college try. Food does not contain any substance. Subsequently, I inadvertently placed a second separate order of chicken Manchurian and had a hard time cancelling. Nanking had the audacity to inquire why I want to cancel my second separate delivery order. It was created in error! Grubhub automatically include: tax, tip, delivery fee, and service fee. I called Nanking to cancel this chicken Manchurian order who instructed me to directly contact Grubhub for cancelling because Nanking has no ability to cancel as this order originated from Grubhub. Delivery was approximately 45 minutes eternal wait timeline. I have no plans for a return delivery order nor a in-person visit dining experience. Oh, hell NO!! Steamed shrimp dumplings, haa1 gaau2 蝦餃, $10.99 These dumplings were average and was accompanied with excessive high sodium content soy sauce to raise high blood pressure increasing the risk of heart disease and possibly stroke. So I'm going to rate this a cool 3 stars. My first time trying this place I had the Nanking mix platter and chili garlic fried rice. I feel like the rice was decent, I could've chosen a different flavor (they have so many rice options) that would've went well with the mood I was feeling that night. The platter however was pretty good, I really enjoyed this. It isn't something I would typically go for but it was cooked and seasoned really well. The second time I ordered, I got one of my favorite dishes, drunken noodles but this dish fell a bit short for me. It was just okay, it wasn't very memorable but it wasn't bad. Nanking - A Perfect Spot for Layovers (or Locals)! When my in-laws had a long layover at JFK, we decided to meet them for dinner, and Nanking turned out to be a fantastic choice. As a Brooklyn local, I hadn't explored many restaurants near JFK, and found slim pickings for Chinese or Thai food by the airport. First off, the ambiance is good--booth seating along the walls and a welcoming, authentic vibe. I was a bit skeptical at first about the large menu (Indian, Thai, and Chinese?!) because that's often a red flag. But, spoiler alert: Nanking proved me wrong! What we ordered: * Navaratan Korma: Super fresh veggies, rich and flavorful. As someone who makes this at home, I was impressed! * Lamb Korma: Delicious, tender, and full of depth. * Naan: A little thinner than usual but still tasty, especially paired with the curries. * Hot and Sour Soup: the in-laws finished their bowl. * Fish Curry: when my FIL ordered this we had a mini-panic that it wouldn't be fresh given the large menu and not apparent seafood focus -- bad fish ahead of a international flight seems worth avoiding at all costs -- but our server was quick and confident with her assertion the fish was fresh and I stood corrected! FIL reported back that it was flavorful, fresh and not overly creamy. * Butter Chicken: A weekly favorite of a diner sitting near us who gave it high praise, and the MIL reported she was right. (Her tip: Pair it with garlic naan--A+ advice!) The drink deals were great, and the prices overall were super reasonable. The only downside was the timing--our food took about 30 minutes, and the drinks were slow too. But with a party of 20 arriving at the same time as us, it's understandable. (And kudos to the menu for being upfront: "Let us know if you're in a hurry.") In short, Nanking is a gem for anyone looking for authentic flavors near JFK. Naanking on Rockaway blvd. Honestly food was just not great. There was a spill for our manchow soup which I understand can happen sometimes, and the place was kind enough to give us extra soups delivered to our house. But the rest of the food wasn't great. The naan was just tough to break hard to chew. The butter chicken, we asked for spicy but just tasted like someone dumped a whole bag of sugar in it. The veg Manchurian was just salty. I read the reviews on Yelp and knew I needed to check Nanking out. I am certainly glad I did. I was welcomed when I came into the very peaceful and relaxing dining area. I was quickly seated, and had some water poured quickly. I used the Yelp check in offer, which was delicious! I ended up having the Palak Paneer and veggie samosas as an appetizer. The samosas came out fairly quickly and they were very tasty. The dough had a little bit of sweetness to it and the filling was cooked very well. The samosas came with two sauces which one was minty and the other was tamarind. Quite flavorful and added to the deliciousness of the samosas. The Palak Paneer was outstanding. It comes with steamed rice which was well cooked. The Panner was a little spicy (they ask if you want it mild, medium, or spicy) but could have been a bit spicier for my tastes. I really enjoyed the flavors of the dish. It was amazingly rich. The service was great, very attentive, but not overbearing. I liked it so much I debated coming back again the next day but I wanted to try a different place while I was in town. I'll be back if given the chance. read more

Didn't quiet know what to expect, but I was surprised. This is a cosy with a modern layout with a few tables around 20 and a small bar (no seats at bar). The fusion spreads accross with Thai, Singapore, Chinese, and Indian. When you check in on yelp you get a free mangotini- which is sweet mango forward, but does have the taste of booze at the end. I tired the hot and shout soup, with chicken and it was a bit salty (soy sauce heavy) but was one of the best I have had. For the main, I tired to Singapore chicken and veggies noodles and it was also great, was a bit spicy which I enjoyed. They also have two sauces that is places on the table along with sliced Fresno peppers. I will be back to try some other items. read more

I've been to the Nanking Restaurant in Manhattan and the one in New Hyde Park before. Compared to those two, this location was tiny! That's a good thing because the restaurant was empty when I came here for lunch. I really like their décor, as it doesn't look like a cheap Indian restaurant. The food is always great at Nanking. I had the Kai Chi for appetizer (other places calls them lollipop chicken). They were very good and I couldn't stop eating them, and I'm not ashamed to say that I stole one from my wife's plate. I had the Chicken Tikka Masala with Garlic Naan and both were excellent (just the way I expected). The chicken had a lot of flavor and wasn't crazy spicy. I'm never in the area, but at least now I know where to eat if I'm back in Ozone Park. read more

A decent option if you're in the JFK area and are in need of a sit-down dinner. Given the breadth of the menu (spanning Chinese, Thai and Indian) - it's not a surprise that the items are a bit of a hit or miss. The lamb korma and the garlic naan here were the highlight for us - the flavors of the korma were spot on and the garlic naan was doused in garlic, ghee and baked to perfection. The Singapore noodles were also good- the flavors and consistency were pretty much right on. The Chicken Tikka Masala, on the other hand, was not the best ever as some other reviews suggest (esp not at $15!). It was overly sweet and heavy on the tomatoes - I understand each place has its own version of the dish, but this was really out there and not something I could finish. The papaya salad was also oddly (creatively?) prepared. The green papaya wasn't shredded in thin slices - instead, it was chopped like cuts of French fries. As a result, the flavors of the dressing didn't soak into the green papaya and the salad was bland and a difficult to enjoy. The panang curry was also off- it was too heavy on the peanut flavor and lacked the usually more complex curry flavor. The chicken inside the curry was lightly breaded- also strange to my taste buds.
