My friend introduced me to this spot during covid. We got the house special friend rice with fried chicken wings one evening. It was good, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Skip forward to a year later as I'm in the area and had a craving, I decided to try it. I called to place the order for a chicken fried rice when I was a block away and when I arrived I asked if it's possible to rush since I might miss my bus. The ladies gave me someone else's order that was waiting for pickup and assured me it was fine, they were still on their way. So nice of them, and the friend rice was delicious. It was $10 for a large silver take away container which is a great deal. The rice was over cooked but I didn't mind that and the chicken came close the Guyanese style Chinese. To be clear- Their food is SUPER Good and Tasty :) Whomever their newest phone operator/customer service female is. She is simply NOT QUALIFIED. Why? Clearly she cannot take a verbal order nor notate it correctly! We have ordered from "Friend" for the past 8+ YEARS. Not days- Not months - YEARS. Everything always arrived as we ordered. This newbie took our order which was "Chicken Fried Rice- NO EGGS" "Please on the side pepper sauce" (which is the usual) we know it comes with the order- PLUS we asked for duck sauce (I know it's not typical) (Guess what?? I like duck sauce) I know they have it (remember this is Guyanese- Chinese style food) Anyway so the food arrives- The fried rice had EGGS in it. Like what the heck?!? (btw no duck sauce) I told my husband to let them know the order arrived wrong. (Just so the next time) The NEWBIE who took our order proceeded to LIE and say "ALL chicken fried rice orders automatically comes WITH eggs". I told my husband to let me get on the phone with her- which she then proceeded to put on someone else (clearly) I don't know if it /is/was/ her boss/manager/ however the person - was very personable and sent over another order. However even if I was allergic to eggs we STILL didn't get our main order which was CHICKEN FRIED RICE WITH NO EGGS. We received a PLAIN fried rice with no chicken. The point is- This imbecile didn't take my correct order and then passed the problem to an innocent person. Which STILL wasn't corrected. Friend NEEDS to do better. Hire qualified customer service reps. By the way I clearly understand that most of their revenue is from their liquor license and bar availability. However let's not forget the other end of their revenue which is food- also including their customer service aspect. Ridiculous. Greed sometimes does change customer service. I ordered a few times from here and had the food delivered. The chicken fried rice is pretty good. Along with the chicken lo mein. The food is not dry at all like other places. Will definitely order again but perhaps do a pick up instead of delivery. read more

Did not appreciate the jagoff delivery driver that brought our food today. I sent my 12-yr-old son to the door, as I was otherwise engaged, and this asshat helps himself to a $10 tip, threw our change on the wet ground along with the condiments, and when my son asked him for the rest of the money back, he said "It's Christmas" and scurried off. My bad for not going to the door myself. It's a mistake I won't repeat. Please send this wonderful human back to my house with our next delivery. One of the best Guyanese Chinese in Richmond hill area. I always get the chicken fried rice, which has egg in their fried rice, fresh onions and scallions and a good portion of the rice with chicken. The hot wings extra crispy is really good too. read more

This place is more of a bar, however, they do sell food. They advertise their style of cooking as Berbician, i.e. specific to the county of Berbice in Guyana. I always buy the roast duck fried rice and I can vouch for it. It's simply delicious. The pieces of duck are flavorful to the bone and the fried rice itself is tasty. read more

I used to live near here and we ordered from this place quite frequently. The restaurant is more of a bar but they do have food and we usually do take out and delivery. The food is decent for the price but depending on when you go, you might get fresh food or stale. The staff is almost always rude and the men (patrons) in there stare at you like leeches. read more

My family and I have always enjoyed the food here. Of course there were occasions when we received stale rice, but it's not a big of a deal since almost every restaurant does this. However, last week my dad found chewed up gum in his chicken fried rice while eating at work! Absolutely disgusting. I wish my dad took a picture. I love this place!! The food is always cooked just right. For $8 you get a lot of food which is a plus. The delivery is always fast and very polite. I never ate in the restaurant itself but it is a clean environment I wouldn't mind. I usually get this for lunch or dinner either way it is very satisfying. Enjoy! read more

I've been ordering from "Friends" for a good while now and all I can say their food is satisfying but their customer service is terrible.When you place an order for delivery it is better if you go to the restaurant yourself and write your order out on a piece of paper and give it to the chef.On many occasions my order has been wrong and I am fed up with this....and on top of it when they delver they never give u the correct change which is another dislike."Friends" food is "okay", but its better to eat at a place where you know your going to get great customer service and great food as well. read more

The food is good here but the service sucks. The delivery guy will try to hassle you with the tip, he will try to take his own tip like the other reviews states. When ordering take out they never give you the right amount of pepper sauce as well. Avoid ordering here unless it's the last place on earth!!!!! read more

Although the food is good for a reasonable price.. And they give a lot.. It is not kid oriented.. Manly because it more like a bar restaurant. All in one area.. It would be more family oriented only if they were some kind of divider that would separate the bar from the actual restaurant itself.. Otherwise to that it deserve 4 star because it not family oriented especially when it have older men drinking alcohol and listen to loud music.. Definitely not a place to take ur kids to dine.. More like to have your food deliver to you and be at home would your family would be the best idea.. Otherwise it a ideal spot to slam some beers down.. Listen to music and have fantastic food.. The chicken fired rice was ok.. The chicken liver and gizzard and roast pork is to die for.. Amazingly good and they give a lot.. Next I'm going to try the roast duck..
