    Spicy Miso Ramen

Service is really good. The broth is soooo good and rich. I got the spicy miso and the spice was really good. The noodles were also very good.

I walked in for a soft drink while waiting for someone. They were so pleasant that I decided to stay for a meal. I ordered the Godzilla combo and the Spicy Tuna Sushi. Both were excellent!

Got some pretty great sushi from this place on Broadway. It's tiny inside, and makes sense they limit dining in. Nano has mostly things for takeout. Especially at lunch. The prices for the fancier rolls can get expensive but are still pretty good it seems. Came to get a few things to go. It's only open for takeout at lunch. They open the inside for dinner though. Only a few tables are inside. Really cramped so not sure I would even want to. It's about $14 for the specialty rolls. Some of these are vegan. One is the Black Forest Maki. This is asparagus, avocado, cucumber, oshinko, and spinach wrapped in fried tofu. Good big roll filled with lots of vegetables and fresh. This was a pretty impressive one and was worth the kind of high price. Has lots of great sushi to choose from. It's only open for takeout most times. There's a few of the specialty rolls that are okay for vegans and vegetarians.

5/5! Everything was delicious. Service was great. The presentation was amazing. I have been talking about this places for days after I went. 1st off, I've lived in the area for years and never ever thought to stop in. It's truly a hidden gem. Place is BYOB, which I will note for next time. All the sushi and apps were delicious. I don't think I've ever had crab ragoon that's so delicious, fresh, and flaky. Such an adventure. While this wasn't my most favorite place for Ramen, it definitely hit the spot on a snowy night. By the way, can we talk about the deep fried rolls. Delicious. Sushi deep fried and stuffed with cream cheese and sauce. So delicious. Returning is a no brainer. Check out the pics and look at all the food we got for $150. Not pictured is another bowl of Ramen that I forgot to snap a pic of. It was worth it. Please support this business.

Nano's is back & better than ever at their new location: 4256 N Western Ave. You can't beat these menu prices and amazing Sushi, Ramen, and much more! Great BYOB spot in Chicago.

This is my second time getting Nano carry out and I will definitely be back! The staff is so sweet and welcoming. Today they included free Gyoza which was such a fun surprise! All of the rolls I have tried so far are sooo yummy and affordable. If you are in the area I highly recommend!!

Best place to have some sushi or ramen with friends or just you and your partner! And now they have outside tables! Best service And also it's BYOB! :)

I enjoyed the special veggie sushis at Nano. The two vegan sushis are unique and good. If I could rate this alone, I'd give it four or five stars. The atmosphere was that of a techno cocktail lounge, with the type of music that sounds the same throughout your meal (with the same tempo and bass drum). Red seats and tabletops are framed by dark walls and a Japanese skyline. I didn't care much for any of it. The other, plainer sushis (with one ingredient) were average, neither good nor bad as a whole. Of those, the shiitake was the best. There was one server for the whole restaurant and she did well to try to keep up with things. I would return.

    Salmon Sunshine Maki

Nano is our weekly sushi date spot. We were so sad to see them leave Buena Park. We visited their new location at 4256 N Western Avenue today and it was great as always! You can't beat the service (we love Linda!) and the sushi is always consistent, high quality and delicious. Prices are reasonable. We love the gyoza, salmon sunshine roll & chicken karaage. Highly recommend!

You can tell they water it down a lot and just add a ton of minced garlic to make up for it. By the end of my bowl it was just boiled garlic crumbles. The tonkotsu was also completely the wrong color: translucent, watery, brown chicken-broth looking--not a nice light, fatty, and milky brown. Missing flavor. The chicken ramen was also extremely underwhelming, ZERO FLAVOR in the broth and the chicken!!!!! The meat itself was very moist, but the broth honestly tastes like a can of low sodium chicken broth. Really embarrassing excuse for ramen. I really expected more out of this place. Can't compete with A-tier Asian food in other areas. Service was pretty poor too. One girl for the entire floor of tables. Ignored us the entire time apart from getting our orders. Overall not worth coming back when there's so much better Asian food out there to try.

The Alaskan cod sandwich was served on a bed of cabbage covered in a sweet teriyaki & brown mustard sauce with maybe a squeeze of kewpie sprinkled in between. The Berkshire pork eggrolls had microgreens & shaved radish on top of a crema type of sauce that balanced the heat of the kimchi nicely!! For the main attraction I ordered the spicy garlic ramen that was such a delightful mouth experience it really hit all the taste buds! The noodles were perfectly bouncy with the right amount of chew. The jellied egg was perfect and rounded the soup very well! The red chili threads enhanced the spicy miso broth just enough to slurp all the delicious goodness down! My husband ordered the Sapporo miso soup which had more of a creamy type of broth vs the spicy garlic. The noodles were also thinner than regular ramen & had a bouncy springy texture that just hit the spot! Since it was kinda chilly outside we also ordered hot green tea to accompany our spectacular ramen dishes. This place also offers delicious seasonal cocktails on the menu or hot sake if that's what you are hankering for. Definitely try this ramen joint if you are in the Logan square area your tummy will be so happy that you did!!

Watching an employee use their bare hands and mouth on food that was then served to a customer was extremely concerning and completely unacceptable from a food safety and hygiene standpoint. I was skeptical when I first heard the name Monster Ramen. All my previous personal experiences…read morehave always proven to me that restaurants with names that don't represent their culture in distinct ways are generally subpar. For example, I would usually never even think to step into a restaurant named Best China House, Sushi Bistro, or Mom's Korean Restaurant. (Apologies if your shops are named as such. These were meant to be generic examples) Oh, how times have changed. I would have never thought having a bowl of ramen at a Monster Ramen would give me this much pleasure. Part of it will (in fact, most of it) be on me and my general philosophy on fusion cuisine and outdated gemerational gap. There was definitely a time when avoiding agorementioned type of restaurants may have been deemed smart. But I feel the new generation of restaurant owners and chefs have up'd their games in not only at better food making, but also accepting of a bit more irony. Anyone who knows me knows how much I stay away from trying anything "fusion." It's kinda funny to myself how hypocritical it is that I would be totally okay in substituting an ingredient or two when I'm missing some when cooking, but when it comes to paying money to sit and eat that I would judge chefs by thier style of cooking. Yes, a big part of it is based on a large pool of personally gathered data, but I do acknowledge that I need to open myself up a bit more. Case in point. I was recommended MR by a fellow Yelper and I decided to give it a whirl. I happened to have a friend and his son with me, so I was able to do small tastings of 3 different ramen. And boy, was I pleasantly surprised. We collectively had bowls of shio, shoyu and miso specials. Plus, I ended up getting the Summer Special bowl to go for my wife. All of them had their individual charm to them but more importantly, each of them were made to perfection when it came to broth seasoning and noodle texture, which are THE two most important aspect of ramen, in my opionion. Not too salty nor bland soup. Perfectly dense noodles. I just loved all four! It wad when I tasted the yuzu in tgeir shio ramen that my wife would love it. Even though I brought her the spicy Sunmer version home, I still think it'll be worth bringing her and our daughter back when we get a chance to. Our server Dionne (I think) was most pleasant and helpful. The atmosphere of the restaurant was great, too. It helped that I came before the dinner rush, although, I can also see more lively vibe being nice as well. Will be back with the fam definitely!
