Go Bananas for Gorilla Sushi We love how fresh the sushi tastes, the sizes are perfect and we're never disappointed! It's fun to go there if you can get a table since it's small in size and always busy but sometimes we like to have it delivered! The prices are out of this world and it's delicious we can't get enough! The place itself is too small to eat at so we always get it delivered!

Obligatory Fri-yay starts by ordering sushi for lunch delivery. I became aware of this wonderful place through DoorDash & am happy I've tried it. They have really affordable prices, a good assortment to choose from, & consistently delicious rolls! I appreciate the variety & not being locked into a large roll - it's important try different ones. If you're in the mood for quality sushi that won't break the bank, stop by or order for delivery. You won't be disappointed!

    It's a deep-fried California roll, and it's great.

They're currently take out and delivery only, so I don't know what it's like to eat in the dining room. I'm not sure they'll ever reopen the dining room. I can say that their sushi is creative and tasty, and the prices are definitely right.

    All of this for $38

Discovered through my foodie friends! Love the $2.95 or $3.95 roll deals! The rolls are on the small side, but with the price you pay, how can one complain? I liked $3.95 rolls better, even if they're 4 pieces per order. $2.95 rolls come with 6 pieces. I typically like saucy rolls so if you're up for it, give it a try! There is a huge menu to choose from!

My friend and I walked in to a half full restaurant. It became a bit busier 10 minutes later, but we noticed that there were a lot of take out orders. We waited a good 20 minutes before getting our rolls and the waited who served us did apologize for it because they were so busy. Very understandable For really cheaply prices sushi, it tasted really good!! I ordered the sweet potato roll, Tigger roll, spicy scallop, and trio roll. The fish was fresh, the rice was good, and the seasonings/toppings, sauces were all tasty! My friend ordered 3 avocado rolls and 1 sweet potato roll. She really liked the sweet potato roll, but some of the avocadoes in the avocado rolls were a bit too raw. Overall, we really liked gorilla Sushi and we both decided that this would definitely be a new take out and go-to sushi spot when we're craving quick and cheap sushi! If you want to try a bunch of different sushi without paying a fortune and feeling broke afterwards, go here!

BROO-- this that yummy in yo tummy make you do yo happy dance type of sushiwhen I'm lookin for good local sushi for the low gorilla always comes to mind. On this last trip I ordered the black pearl and 2 orders of golden cali rolls for a quick mid day meal. Was ready 10minutes after I ordered. The photo is clipped from a video and it doesn't do it justice

We ordered in gorilla sushi for first time. Based on the reasonable price point, we decided to try several different types of rolls. All arrived fresh and fantastic! Great flavor and great presentation!

Fresh & delicious sushi. Spicy scallop, dynamite, salmon burn & San Fran roll. The salmon burn is AMAZING.
    Carolyn K.

I've ordered from here three times and the quality has been excellent. The fish is very fresh, fair serving size, outstanding price. I really like they don't go super heavy on the sauce. The San Fran roll has salmon, avocado, cilantro & jalapeño -- the taste is fantastic. I have enjoyed every roll but the "salmon burn" nigiri really stands out. Seared salmon topped with tobiko. Unique taste and the fish was so fresh. I highly recommend delivery from this place. I'm super picky about where I get sushi from and I will go back here again and again!!

A friend has recommended this place before and I was a little hesitant because of the price. Yesterday I needed a quick lunch between my classes and I decided to order online to pick up. I am not exaggerating when I say it was one of the best sushi places I have had in Chicago. The ingredients are so fresh and the pieces are pretty generous. I definitely know what I am going to have for lunch when I am on campus.

I order from here all the time and it's always good but today I I ordered Philly rolls as I do not eat shellfish got my order and saw it was shrimp tempura rolls so I had to throw it away I did go through uber eats I did get some support from them but when I called the resturant well before their MI's day closing no answer I called back after 5 when they reopened and whoever the lady was that answered was rude as hell and she hung up on me this makes me not want to order from them again I will call back to complain to a manager I'm pissed no food for lunch today I

Ordered carry out and really got a bang for our buck! We got so much food. Loved all the rolls we got in the 2 person meal kit

Gorilla Sushi is MY FAVORITE SUSHI JOINT IN THE WHOLE CITY. They serve great priced, high quality rolls of sushi. I have been to place on Clark a few times, but the Albany Park location is their newest spot. The place is BYOB, and the main menu offers a various selection of rolls for $2.95. Like show me show me a better deal than that, I AM WAITING. The only the negative is the $15 minimum for card, but thats a small trade off for delicious sushi. Pictured are my take out of Spicy Crunch Salmon (6), Golden California (6), Miami Roll (4), and the French Roll (6). A total of 22 pieces for $13. Talk about a steal. 15/10

I have been to the Sushi Taku restaurant on Division countless times. I went with friends and did all-you-can-eat. My favorite item we had was the salmon and yellowtail carpaccio which we ordered separately off of the menu. It was flavorful and tasted fresh. It can be a little hard to remember all of what I ate since our group was grabbing plates based on how it looked instead of just the name. The Philadelphia roll tasted great. There were 1-2 tempura rolls which were okay. The sauce used on the octopus balls was amazing! I wish I could put that sauce on everything! It was so savory with some umami flavor as well. The creme brulee was okay, I wouldn't try it again. I think it could have had more flavor and-/or sweetness. The mochi as always was great. The coconut ice cream was a surprise in how great it tasted!

I almost decided to save Miru for our next visit, but I'm glad I made time for breakfast here on our departure day. Located inside the St. Regis Chicago, the restaurant offers beautiful views. The service was excellent--attentive, friendly, and professional. I ordered the Tokyo Breakfast. The salmon was perfectly cooked and paired beautifully with rice, a soft-poached egg, and salmon roe. The miso soup was slightly salty on its own, but it worked surprisingly well when enjoyed with the rice toward the end of the meal. Overall, a memorable breakfast experience. The sushi is phenomenal, as were our drinks... but the other entrees are disappointing. The karaage and duck yakisoba in particular in quality could be from any corner restaurant in Chicago. The service lends itself more casual, and I noticed they were consistently quite slow to clear our table. I don't think people come here for the food as much as the views. Overlooking Streeterville from this angle and vantage was truly jaw dropping and for this reason I still strongly recommend Miru.

My only critique is the pacing. Since the chef already had the fish sliced and prepped, I expected a smoother flow, but the meal took about an hour and a half for 14 pieces of sushi. It felt a bit slow, especially for a lunch service. That said, if you're looking for a reasonably priced omakase with quality fish, this is a solid choice.

Then we were taken back to our table for dinner. Our server was super friendly as well. Started with the miso soup and crispy tuna bites which were probably my favorite dishes. The taki yoki fritters weren't bad either. We saw people getting omakase, so we ordered a yummy looking piece they were receiving. It was just okay (chutoro truffle). The nigiri was also okay. The tuna piece was the only I really loved. The fish quality wasn't as high as I was expecting. The sushi was decent. A little too much truffle in the spicy blue fin tuna and a little too vegetable forward in the hamachi serrano. All in all, the atmosphere and amazing service pushed this up to a 4 for me.
