My husband and I got married this summer and we are SO happy that we chose to go with Nantucket Catering Company. Mark and Eithne and their team catered both our rehearsal dinner clam bake and our 220 person wedding - both events were fantastic and our guests still tell us how incredible the food was! My family cares deeply about serving good food (my grandmother was the original chef at the Straight Wharf Restaurant) and we all agree that the food provided by Nantucket Catering Company was outstanding - fresh, perfectly cooked and delicious! Food aside, working with Mark and Eithne was such a joy. Our tasting with them was one of the most memorable (and relaxing) parts of the planning process. They hosted a tasting lunch for me, my mother, grandmother and husband at their home in Nantucket and we enjoyed an afternoon with them over wine and their delicious cooking! Mark and Eithne catered our small wedding in our home and we could not have been happier with every aspect of the event from menu selection to coordinating with the rental company to accommodating special dietary needs, and so on. A friendly chef and prep cook prepared and served our 6 course meal and were flexible as speeches ran on and the timing must have been challenging. Tracy, our server, couldn't have been better. The team left our kitchen cleaner than it was when they arrived. Nantucket prices are what they are but Nantucket Catering Company was a great choice and delivered great value. Mark and Eithne catered our wedding (and rehearsal dinner) on Nantucket this September and we were absolutely thrilled with them, their service and coordination, their staff, and of course their food! Mark and Eithne themselves are incredibly attentive, pleasant, thoughtful, creative, and all around fun to work with. Dear Eithne and Mark, We have been home only a few days and cannot stop thinking about Mary and Vadim's intimate and very beautiful wedding in Nantucket, which you so graciously helped us to plan and execute. The food was exquisite and the guests are still talking about the raw bar, Tuscan table, buffalo mozzarella over Bartlett Farm tomatoes, the melt-in-your-mouth fillet minion and the scrumptious halibut over corn risotto! Delicious! What a team you two are! Mark is a magnificent chef and Eithne an outstanding organizer and wedding planner. Thank you for keeping us calm, reasonable, for making all the last minute setup arrangements after the rain, for the tasting in your beautiful home, and for your hard work, expertise, time, professionalism, and the fine dining experience. Our daughter's wedding weekend was a great success because of the contributions of Nantucket Catering, owned by Eithne and Marc Yelle. Choosing the right catering company is critical because it provides the glue that holds each event together, establishing the presentation and setting the tempo of the events. Marc and Eithne did a remarkable job for us. On the weekend of our daughter's wedding, Eithne and Marc catered three different events for us: a clambake for the wedding party and families, the wedding reception, and a brunch on the morning after the wedding. The menus and the styles of the three events were very different, and all three exceeded our high expectations. For each event we were offered a wide array of many wonderful dishes in each category¬-hors d'oeuvres, first courses, entrees, desserts. There was something elegant and delicious for everyone, even those with special diets. Nine months before the wedding, Marc and Eithne provided us with a mouth-watering tasting menu to help us narrow our choices. The hardest part of the whole process was choosing which wonderful dishes to serve when. As the big week neared, Eithne worked with all the other vendors--our florist, the tent company that provide all cooking equipment, and the firm that provided linens and dishes--to make sure that all facets of the events were coordinated. She sent us reminders to ensure that we were doing our part--such as deciding on accompanying drinks, getting the items necessary for her staff to arrange on the tables. When we arrived on island, Eithne showed up for our final planning session, and from then on, she and Marc were fully in charge, and every step was executed perfectly. We handed over all elements--the menus, toasting flutes, table numbers--and didn't have to think of them again until we saw them on the tables, looking like a magazine spread. Every member of the Nantucket Catering staff provided impeccable service at all times. They seemed to anticipate what every guest wanted and went out of their way to provide special care to those who needed it. Many of our guests made a point of telling us how impressed they were with all of the staff. At every point, specific staff members were assigned to give special attention to the wedding couple and their parents, which was both delightful and necessary--and allowed all of us to focus on our guests. Best of all, every single bite was delectable and perfectly prepared--with flair. At the reception, Marc and Eithne's timing was impeccable: the steaks and the halibut were done to the optimal degree, and the accompanying potatoes and vegetables were so scrumptious that they could have been served alone. From the brunch the next morning, the image of Marc flipping three omelettes bulging with fresh ingredients all at the same time he's chatting with guests is etched in my memory. Nantucket Catering was a fantastic choice for our daughter's wedding. As a member of the core planning team for many non-profit events over many years in my home city, I've often been very pleased but never so delighted that I've posted a review. I found Eithne Yelle when planning my wedding on Nantucket, MA because she came recommended by literally EVERYONE I spoke to. Eithne is not only the best catering manager I have ever met, she's also the most organized, calm, sweet person. She and her husband/head chef, Marc, invited us into their home for the most delicious tasting as we planned all details of the wedding well in advance (Eithne's services don't stop at catering, she helped wherever she could with the planning process). Our entire family (including my husband) was RAVING about the food leading up to the wedding and when the day finally came, people said it was the BEST wedding food they had ever had. We used Mark and Eithne for our wedding on Nantucket this past September 2013 and they absolutely delivered 5 star service. I am a chef so food was of particular importance to me, and they definitely gave me and my husband exactly what we were looking for. Mark creates fantastic dishes- everything from the appetizers to the main course were unbelievable and like something you would get at a fine dining restaurant. I was also gluten-free and wanted the entire wedding gluten-free because I didn't want to have to ask someone if I could eat something at my own wedding and they had no issue whatsoever. They even were nice enough to use my favorite brand of bread mix for our reception. Eithne is fantastic with the front of house service- she made sure everything ran smoothly and to our surprise we had our own waitress. We both don't drink alcohol and she made sure we were always set up with our drink (club soda, cranberry, lime) and had a sampler platter of the cocktail apps so we could enjoy during the pictures. Both our families are still raving about the meal- everyone declares it to be the best wedding food they have ever had. I would absolutely recommend their service for weddings or events- you can't go wrong with them! read more

My daughter was married on Nantucket in September 2013 and we could not have been more pleased with the quality of the food, the ease of planning and the extraordinary service provided by Mark and Eithne Yelle of Nantucket Catering and all of their staff. They worked with the groom's family from North Carolina to plan and execute a festive rehearsal dinner with Mark's unique twist on southern comfort food for dinner, ending perfectly with s'mores around the fire. Mark and Eithne worked closely with the bride and groom to plan a terrific menu for the cocktail hour and wedding reception dinner. The food was so sophisticated, delicious and beautifully presented, our guests raved about it and the friendly, unpretentious service that made the evening such fun. The farewell brunch set up and service was lovely, the food just right and again, served with such careful attention to detail and the comfort of our guests. Behind the scenes, preparations for the wedding reception had some glitches that actually created extra challenges for the caterers and for us. Not only did Nantucket Caterers rise to the occasion and exceed our expectations, but Eithne stepped in with calmness and good humor and managed details of our event that we never would have expected her to take responsibility for, but are so grateful that she did.
