Pretty bad experience at The Nantucket Hotel. The room, while nicely furnished, was next to the dumpster which might have been ok, but it was also the loading zone for the hotel. Constant trucks in and out - most backing in with their beeper on. We had ants in the bathroom, two rounds of toxic chemicals and they were still there. We were near the maids closet - tons of traffic and noise there. Floorboards squeaking, so anytime you went to the ant infested bathroom, you would wake the other person up. Staff was friendly and only reason it's not one star review. read more

I am 42 years old and have never written a review (I had to create an account), but this trip warranted a write up. Upon arrival, after Angel handles everything from the ferry, you are greeted by Fulya who is maybe the sweetest woman you will ever meet. Unfortunately you cant take her home with you, but she will make your stay as easy and convenient as possible. Unfortunately, my wife got a stomach bug on our trip, and because the concierge car was unavailable, Kate insisted that I use her PERSONAL vehicle to run to the pharmacy. If all of that isn't enough you have John, the head bartender, who not only makes one heck of an espresso martini, he works the bar like an ace! Again, 42 and I have been lucky enough to travel quite a bit, but the level of service that we received at the Nantucket Hotel, not only rivals, but surpasses any 5-star resort that we've ever stayed at. I have been coming to the Island since I was in the 6th grade and I will never go back without staying here. Angel, Kate, Fulya, and everyone else, thank you so much for the level of service and passion for your craft. We cannot wait to come back and really appreciate everything. REALLY SHOULD BE 30 STARS. We go here every year, and wouldn't change a thing. Perfect for kids, with games, a gym, a pool table, and a separate adult pool for nights without the kiddos. The staff is so kind and accommodating, they always go the extra mile. I just can't emphasize that enough! The rooms are gorgeous. It's expensive, my only complaint, but it's Nantucket. The location is great too, so close to the beach AND the city. I can take a morning walk to breakfast in three minutes and to the beach in 15. read more

We stayed 6 days in a cottage on property. The main pool didn't open for the season until a day after we left... and we were almost mid way thru June. Keep that in mind. Before you book, make sure all amenities are available. Overall the property is nice. Not great. Just nice. Breakfast was average. So we never ate dinner in the highly rated restaurant because our breakfast was so mediocre. Would we stay again? Probably not. read more

My son loved the freshly baked cookies every day of our stay and the hotel restaurant was fabulous. Wow, this hotel is the definition of a 5 star review. From staff and customer service to the hotel itself and our stay, this was a hotel that all of us enjoyed and plan to return to if we were to choose a hotel in Nantucket to stay at. The room itself was very spacious and clean. Depending on the room you book, you can sleep a good number of people. One of our family friends (group of 2) got a room that could sleep 7! The front desk was super friendly and helpful. They even gave us recommendations on biking to Sconset Beach and we were glad we took their advice. You can arrange for shuttle pickup from the ferry dock which is recommended because you won't want to haul your stuff from the ferry dock to the hotel on the cobblestone. Breakfast was included with our stay which was eggs any style or pancakes. Check out was at 10 and I wish it was extended until at least 11. The only thing I regret from this trip was only staying 1 night. We should have done 2 at least! Overall this is your hotel to stay at on Nantucket, it's worth shelling out the extra bucks for this great hotel! read more

In a word -Delightful! From the moment you arrive till the time you leave, every person, every point of contact is pleasant, friendly and focused on you. We were their for a corporate event. We were met at the doc by a friendly outgoing driver who set the stage for customer service. We were greeted by a front desk staff that wanted to help! Each day we stopped by, for a question, directions or even on the timing of when the newspapers would arrive, they had a genuine smile and offers to help. We enjoyed the continental breakfast each day and we loved the deck and the fire "pits". The bike's easy walking access to town and local beaches made this a perfect get-away. We loved our room and amenities in the room and the downstairs gym and playrooms were clean and bright. We need to go back when the weather is warmer so we can enjoy the pool! read more

Leigh Anne made our trip wonderful. It was Christmas Eve and she brought us to a great local restaurant for a dinner called Fairgrounds. All other places were closed, except for the airport. Nantucket is amazing in the winter. Pull the trigger and go visit in the off season if you are thinking of it. The summer is amazing. read more

This hotel does not deserve high reviews and is certainly not worth the prices charged. I stayed in the hotel from July 23-29 2023 with my daughters and grand daughter. We all read Elin Hildebrand's novel set at this hotel and we're excited about the stay. Believe me it has little in common with the The Hotel Nantucket of the novel. Certainly there is no Magda overseeing the housekeeping. From the day we arrived to the last day our room failed to have the basic amenities restocked and we had to physically go down to the lobby to get what was needed. During our stay their charge system was not working so nothing could be charged to the room at any restaurant, which took away the ease of dining in the hotel restaurants. We had reserved a cabana at the children's pool (the pools are very basic--nothing special about them) I'm advance for each day of our stay and later needed to cancel a couple of days. I let the front desk know and they told me to let the pool attendant know. I let the pool attendant know and he told me to let the front desk know. The front desk said they had nothing to do with it but would take my name. At the time of checkout I asked for an itemized statement to ensure I had not been charged for the cancelled days. They could not provide one--"the front desk can't do that" she said "it has to be generated by corporate headquarters". What? An itemized statement at check out has to come from the corporate office? The assistant manager told me he would personally ensure I received it by email. One week later no statement--in fact no communication at all. Although we got a nice ride on the antique fire truck to the beach two days of our stay I cannot recommend this hotel. Both days they left us stranded there despite a pre scheduled pick up. That pretty much describes the whole stay. They charge alot and leave you stranded for the most basic things that are needed and promised. read more

I can not say enough good things about this place. No stone was left unturned , every detail was thought of to guarantee an outstanding vacation experience for their guests. This has to be one of the best if not the best vacation experience I have had, from the 1934 vintage Ford bus which met is at the ferry dock, the careful handling of our bags, the speedy check in which included beach buckets filled with goodies for our three grandchildren, free lemonade and fresh baked chocolate chip cookies and delicious chocolates waiting for us in our well appointed suite. The suite was large and comfortable with a kitchenette a full size refrigerator microwave and full set of dishes and utensils. The living room had a large flat screen TV and a well stocked library with some excellent reading for adults and children. We had three large bedrooms and three large well appointed bathrooms. The unit also had a washer and dryer with detergent and fabric softener. Beach chairs and full size golf umbrellas were also provided with pool towels. The hotel had a very nice off lobby game room stocked with a full library and dvd's for guest use. They also hosted an excellent wine and cheese party there. The lower level had a pool table and the spa and gym which had everything you could want. The grandkids enjoyed the Kids Club each morning from 9 to 12. They took them on trips to the beach and aquarium and had a number of games and activities. The lap pool and main pool were heated and had a number of things for the kids to use. The hot tub and sauna and large cabanas were enjoyed by the adults. At night they hosted a S'mores party for the kids,we enjoyed them also. The staff here does not seem to have "no" in their vocabulary. Every request was promptly responded to. The grands were looking forward to the daily three pm fire truck ride, but the battery died. No problem they got the bus and gave everyone a grand tour of the area. Everything here exceeded my expectations. Thanks to each and every member of the staff from the general manager to the young people who took such good care of the grandkids each morning to the servers in the restaurant who knew all our names and supplied a delicious breakfast buffet each day. The berry selection was outstanding. This was a truly special time that I hope to repeat one day. read more

The Nantucket Hotel got another star. Our latest visit was amazing! We split our time between the Winnetu in Martha's Vineyard and The Nantucket in Nantucket. The hotel arranged for a shuttle to meet us at the ferry and it was right on time. The attendant was extremely helpful and took our luggage to the shuttle. The staff treated us like we were old friends and greeted us all by name. I have to give a special shout out to 2 of the staff members, Greg and Fulya. They were especially terrific and went the extra mile for us and our girls. They gave us the same room we had last year, which was totally lovely and very clean. The Kid's Club is great, they take the kids to local museums and plays. The facility is located inside the hotel and is super clean. The nighttime Kid's Club is also terrific and allows mom and dad to go to restaurants that aren't kid friendly. The "children's" pool is amazing! It is heated and has a smaller one and half foot pool attached to it. Perfect for toddlers who aren't swimming yet. The lifeguard has an assortment of pails, water noodles and water wings for the kids to use. The adults only pool also looked very nice. The gym is also beautiful, I just wish it stayed open later than 8:00 pm. We will definitely be coming back next year!!! read more

WAY OVERPRICED!!!! This would be a 1 star hotel in ANY other city in the country, but since it's on an island I guess they think it's acceptable. Rooms are WAY outdated, something you'd expect to find in a Motel 6. Rooms don't even have coffee makers, they never have food or coffee out when they say they will, front desk workers don't show up for work, so good luck getting in your room if you get locked out. Look for ANY other option than this place. Hopefully it'll go out of business or someone will buy it and actually run it like a real hotel. read more

We had a very poor experience at the hotel. Our neighbors were extremely loud, which we totally understand that the hotel cannot control (aside from perhaps better construction and maybe some sound dampening solution). Having said that, the real problem was the lack of response from the front desk after several calls to address the issue at night. We left without an inquiry from the staff as to how our stay was, which is simply unprofessional for a hotel that labels themself in this caliber of resorts. At the end of the day, aside from the bellman, the service was simply poor. read more

We stayed here right before the summer season started, so was probably not as busy as peak season. 1) loved the service, the staff were all very friendly, hospitable and went out of their way to make you comfortable 2) the location is great, it's in town close enough to walk to most places but out of the way enough that there is no noise 3) the gym, pool and hot tub are very well maintained and clean. 4) we loved the smores by the fire and the wine and cheese hour 5) breakfast was simple but enjoyed the fruit and yogurt. The service at breakfast was excellent. 6) my biggest complaint would be if you are NOT an early riser ask for a room on a higher floor, we were on the main floor of the hotel and in the mornings we could hear a thud thud thud which we realized was the treadmill. read more

Planned breakfast at this lovely hotel. The dining room was beautiful, but unfortunately the food was just okay. The menu advertised pancakes with shipped butter and maple syrup. They arrived with foil packets tossed on the plate, with the butter liquified and unusable. The maple syrup was the artificially flavored corn syrup variety in a heated carafe. Service was very slow, coffee refills were not offered until we were ready to leave. Generally, would not mention it but in a venue of this caliber, just expected much more. read more

We had an extremely bad customer service experience at this hotel on Thanksgiving (of all days!). I was so surprised and absolutely dismayed at the way we were treated by the restaurant manager. They charged us $200 for a meal we didn't eat even after assuring us (on two separate occasions) that they would waive the cancellation fee. The hotel may be fine but I would not recommend this dining experience to anyone. read more

This is a review for their gym/fitness center only: we were stranded on Nantucket and cooped up due to tropical storm Jose. It was too blustery for even walking outside. Even though we weren't staying there, the Nantucket Hotel allowed us to use their facilities, and it saved us!! While small, they have lots of cardio machines (both reclining and upright bikes, treadmills and ellipticals). They have both free weights and machine weights, plus TRX equipment. We didn't use them, but there are also outdoor heated pools and a hot tub, as well as very nice locker rooms with showers and self-locking lockers. Everything is clean, working, and well-maintained. The people who work there couldn't have been nicer. Oh, and there are iPads with Netflix they will loan to you for your workout in case the gym TVs aren't your speed. Again, we didn't try them, but Nantucket Hotel also offers fitness classes. All in all, exactly what we needed and impressive for a smaller facility! read more

We held our company dinner at the Nantucket Hotel, and let me tell you, a three course dinner at a venue like this should not take 4 hours. We started with a cocktail hour and open bar for our company staff, and made our way into the banquet hall for our assigned seating. Our menu items consisted of house salad, choice of the beef tenderloin or swordfish steak, and dessert. After the salad came, there was about a 45 minute delay for the entrees to come out, so everyone began getting out of their seats and conversing. Once the entrees came, the wait staff was all scatter brained, not able to remember which tables ordered what. Every single beef tenderloin that came out was raw, and were sent back to the kitchen multiple times, coming out raw again and again. So with over 50 dissatisfied people asking for their beef to be cooked, waiting another 45 minutes to eat their dinner, it was already 9pm. Disastrous to say the least, but at least we were in good company and a story for us to look back on. Most people adapted and went with a liquid dinner, as open bar was open until 10pm. We absolutely LOVED our stay at The Nantucket Hotel! They were incredibly accommodating & so family friendly. We had been mistakenly booked at the Nantucket Inn (over by the airport) & with one phone call, The Nantucket Hotel immediately accommodated us with 2 rooms for 2 nights. The general manager personally met us upon arrival. Our children were given beach pails with candy & snacks. All of the hotel employees were incredibly kind & helpful. They had tea & coffee in the lobby every morning & cookies & lemonade in the afternoons. The room beds were extremely comfortable. The kids pool was perfect for my kids (ages 4 & 6). They had a blast with the other kids in the pool! We were able to just walk right out of the hotel to get to town. The hotel shuttle took us anywhere we wanted to go around the island (within reason), including to a restaurant right outside of town. The breakfast at the restaurant was delicious & they had a nice children's menu. We would absolutely stay at this hotel again upon another visit to Nantucket!! read more

Most have been good but not to this level of excellence. If you are looking for service, ammenities and comfort at its finest this is the place! Was put up here for work, and hit employer was apologetic she couldn't get us into her favorite place. I'm not sure why because this place was superb. Great restaurant, private adult pool, and a staff that was extremely accommodating including giving us rides wherever we needed to be. The room was lovely, clean, and tastefully decorated. 5 Stars to this Hotel....they went over and aboard to accommodate us. Very friendly and helpful, transported us to any places we wanted to go, there were 6 of us and Jaime and John were the Best. Also Leigh at the front desk was very cordial and informative. We had a great Suite it was very large and spacious....anything we needed they obliged to help us. Outstanding service pre, during and post visit; an amazing hotel with amazing amenities. We truly enjoy our suite which included a sleeping space in the turret, which was a most unique thing. We intend to return in October this year for another visit. My only negative about this hotel is that it is a block more away from downtown than I normally like to be, but we just put a few extra miles on the shoes during a visit. The restaurant at the hotel is decent, but with the plethora of places to eat, I would consider it the venue for the late night meal on the night you arrive, lunch on the date of departure or a breakfast here and there. read more

The owners really care about their guests and made my son and I feel like we were the most important people there. The room was so clean and is exactly what Nantucket is all about. Executive Chef Josh Schoen is creating culinary magic at the Breeze Bar and Cafe at The Nantucket Hotel. Brunch today was the delicious avocado toast- light ciabatta with a bright green avocado purée, poached eggs and frisée salad, perfectly dressed. Light, healthy and smart breakfast food. More recently at dinner I enjoyed a salmon prefixe that came with what was probably the best chowder I've ever had- rich, creamy, dusted with paprika and garnished with a touch of parsley and crumbled heritage bacon. We didn't stay here, but we used the facilities and ate at Breeze. A delightful place with delightful staff. Good food and a nice bar. Awesome for kids, they have a play room and a list of babysitters at reasonable prices with CPR qualifications. Play room good for ages zero-100, including things like building blocks up to air hockey tables and ping pong. Can't ask for much more. They invited us to make pretzels with their pastry chef. Okay SO. Let me tell you about the beds. I'm pretty sure I slept on a cloud. After my hot bath I was in my nantucket hotel rope wrapped up in a giant puffy blanket with a bunch of soft pillows.. I don't think I have ever been more comfortable! The hotel is VERY clean, friendly staff, wonderful hot tub and pool. Kids room. Clean gym. The locker rooms (very elegant and updated)in the gym have saunas. Let me just say that you leave the hotel feeling so relaxed! read more

We stayed here over the Columbus Day weekend. The room was just fine, having been recently renovated. The only issue with the room was we had a full sized bed, not a queen. House keeping missed taking out the trash one day, and left tissues on the floor the next day. (remember this is a $500 p/night room) The room came with breakfast, but the "cook" at the buffet seemed more interested in channel surfing the big screen TV in the dinning area than tending to his job. He was also distracted by other "employees" hanging out and grabbing food from the buffet. (have him turn the TV off) They also built in gratuity in the complimentary breakfast which is fine, but someone changed my gratuity and gave themselves a couple of extra bucks. So be sure to check you bill carefully when you checkout. Management did seem friendly and appeared like they were trying but they need to watch the help more closely. Other than poor housekeeping and dinning service, and fraud the place was great! One star based on the price and level of service. They just need to be better for what they charge. read more

I don't know where to begin..... I recently attended a weekend event at this hotel and I felt like I was at home! The staff was extraordinary, the amenities second to none, and every need we had, and then some, were met with 5 star service! And, Sharon, the concierge, is simply the BEST! Wonderfully amazing stay!! Room: We were upgraded to a suite which could comfortably fit 4. The rooms were beautifully decorated with a kitchen which we didn't need but would be so helpful in summertime. Books of all genres were provided on the bookcase in the living room which are great if you would like a read. The renovations throughout the resort is outstanding. It felt like a home away from home - very warm and inviting and the beach theme is adorned well throughout the resort. Gym: Quite small but the machines are great. The weight room has decent equipment - none of the cheap weight lifting systems most hotels tend to have. Great for those who cant miss a workout. Yoga classes/ spa amenities are also available. There are 2 pools (one is for laps) and a hot tub. Staff: They make the stay worthwhile. We stayed for a special occasion and from the minute from pick up at the ferry dock to drop off, the service was just amazing. Everyone was pleasant to talk to and were very inviting to have you come back. There were nice sentiments that the hotel surprised us with during our stay which made our anniversary very very special. The location is walk-able to downtown and minutes away from the beach and Brant Point. Our only regret was the weather during our stay. It was cold and rainy. All the more to come back and make a better trip. read more
