They of course didn't show up on moving date! So we are here helping a friend move who clearly didn't read all these reviews I am seeing...Can anyone provide a working number for these people? The number on their website does not even work. I need negative stars to give to this fake company whose address is someone's house! I understand having a small business run from home but they need to have a working phone and not disappear with peoples deposit. This isn't and cannot be a legitimate company. Extremely disappointed in the level of unprofessionalism this so called moving company had demonstrated. To begin, I contacted Ken last week to schedule for a move. I explained to him that we moving out items out of a storage facility which was in Eastern, LI to our new home in Rockland County. He explained that would not be problem and quoted us a price via phone. I asked that it be sent to my email address, which it was never sent. I wanted to confirm our appointment since this would not be local move and I needed to take time off work. After numerous unsuccessful attempts to contact the company, I left a voice mail. Ken responded the next day via text, that we we still scheduled. I asked to clarify the quote which was never set. He asked for my email address again. Still nothing. He then text me saying something about "paperwork issue" that's why I never received quote. The night of the move he text that they would arrive at the storage facility 8 am. The day moving of the move, I received a text at exactly 7:27am from Ken that they were running behind schedule due to "truck issues" and would need to push back time between 1000-1100. As I mentioned, I do not live nor work close by storage facility, needless to say, I was already at the unit and had to wait unit the new time. Concerned because I had to go back to work, I texted him to be sure that they were going to make it. He text back "we will definitely be there." At exactly 9:29am I receive another text from Ken that he was unable to get his truck unloaded because of a "customer closing issue" ( I guess another not so satisfied customer) and could not make it at that time because they need to "rent another truck." In his text he suggested 12noon this day or tomorrow. I responded if he could "please give me a call." This so called company lacks courtesy, professionalism, and does not respect customer's time. This company had the unmitigated audacity not follow up with a courtesy or even text. My complaint with this that they have no respect for customers time, sensitivity, and professionalism. I explained to Ken that move was going to be over 50 miles and that I did live near the storage facility so timing was a factor. If you are going to advertise as a moving company, perhaps you may want to invest in more than 1 truck. I concur with the other receivers, not sure how they manage to stay in business. read more

I am bummed to even write this: But this business is run by a scam artist. I wish I had read all of the one-star reviews prior to reaching out. My complaint isn't just about bad service -- like many of the other reviews -- it's about Ken taking money to do a job, then never doing it, then never returning the money. It would be too exhausting to write out everything that happened; suffice to say it went to small claims, I won easily, and yet I still haven't heard from Ken and will likely have to pursue further legal action to collect. If you want to make sure you have a stress free moving experience, then I advise to NOT USE this company. I called to set up and have them move the following: a dresser with a mirror, a mattress with a box spring, a love seat, two nightstands, and 10 medium-sized boxes - all from one apartment to another only 15 miles away. Ken said he could do next day no problem at 8am. Day of, Ken calls and apologizes and says he can't do the morning because he forgot that he booked a morning job but pushed me back until noon - no problem because I was free the whole day. He then calls a few hours later to say that he can't get into the building he's making the delivery to until 1pm due to the building's rules, but he can get to me by 3pm - again not a problem. I get my final phone call from Ken after 3pm saying he and his team were still waiting to make that same move. He said that he was sorry for the inconvenience but he will put me on for the next day, first thing at 8am. The next day. Radio silence. No phone call. No text. Never showed. Because of his lack of professionalism and mere basic business etiquette, I had to call multiple moving companies to see if they could do a same day move. Luckily, I found a team that was willing to help me with such short notice. All in all, don't waste your time with this guy and his team. He will sweet talk you and say it'll be a low flat rate of $675, but will leave you stranded and stressed. read more

I wish I could give a negative number.....I contacted this business 5 weeks in advance of my move, and they gave me a flat rate quote over the telephone which was competitive and attractive. I did not ask for nor was a contract offered. The day before the scheduled move, I called them to confirm we were still scheduled. I spoke with Ken who indicated we were still scheduled, and they would meet me at 8-8:30 AM the following morning. Sadly, my experience sounds like others here....truck broke down, repair service on the way, need to rent a truck, blah, blah, blah. I called and called, texted and texted...the last time I heard from them was the afternoon of 11/29......when I needed to be out of my apartment on 11/30. I was moving out of an apartment, so getting things moved on hard stop is essential. I was completely ignored and had to contract with another mover, and thankfully my landlord has been patient...most are not. This business is irresponsible....I went to check out the business address and it is in a residential area. TOTAL SCAM!!!!! I will report them to the local Chamber and local zoning. read more

You can never get anyone to talk to or return phone calls. I just don't understand how business is done this way. I recently used Nanuet Express for a friend of mine going through personal problems. Because her closing date was unclear I worked very closely with the owner. We Had to put her household in storage for a few months. Everything was wrapped for protection. Nothing was broken in the move. This company was amazing. No matter what problems came up on our end, they came up with a solution and Never broke a sweat. I highly recommend this company because i really felt like our move was a priority to them. Very unprofessional company. We had a stressful experience yesterday. Owner of the business showed up 3 hours late without a moving truck. He changed the quote he gave to my sister in law over the phone from 525 to 700 and demanded cash or he would not move her furniture. She, unfortunately, did not ask for a written estimate and contract. On a positive note, he did manage to move the contents of her apartment but did finish the job until 10:00 pm. A 2-hour job took over 9 hours to complete. read more

They were professional, fast, handled everything with care, and even helped set up my furniture before they left. I didn't pay a penny over what I was quoted on the phone. My original phone calls with the company, specifically Ken were great. I got off the phone confident in hiring them to move a few pieces of heavy furniture for my mother, less than 5 miles away, that I couldn't manage on my own. I had been helping my elderly mother and disabled brother move and not living locally, drove from over 3 hours away to meet the movers as scheduled per my call with Ken. Morning of the move, Nanuet Express Moving was a no show, I left 2 voice mails, very understanding ones, asking for a simple call back to let me know if they couldn't make it so I could make other arrangements, no response. I also sent a text, with no response. Finally after waiting over 2 1/2 hrs and no response, I gave up chalking it up to a no call, no show. It was very disappointing after my conversations with Ken were so pleasant. Its a shame as well considering that I was willing to pay the few hundred quoted(which I was including tip money in) for them to only move 3 pieces of furniture, as mentioned, less than 5 miles. Job would have taken way less than an hour and would have been a easy few hundred. Being in customer service I know the importance of follow up and good customer care- I would give Nanuet Express Moving negative stars if I could. If they couldn't make the appointment it would have saved me a 6 hr round trip on a holiday weekend. Nanuet Express Moving cost me time and money. This company moved me around 5 months ago n I asked him b4 if he's fully covered for a any damage n his answer was "sure" But by now I know d truth. They damaged my floors in a few rooms of my house.I called him many times to remind him to fix it but he was playing around with me saying that "I'm calling my floor guy right now" but he never came so I emailed him more than a week ago after pestering for the last 5 months, but this time He simply ignored me (I told him in my last email that my landlord told me if it's not gonna be fixed I'll have to pay that but obviously he doesn't care). My parents moved into a small apartment in an assisted living facility, and wanted furniture from the house they just sold. Since the facility would be removing their rented furniture that morning, the timing had to be perfect. Nanuet Express lived up to their name. They were punctual, careful, thorough, polite, and professional. They managed to get everything into my parents' room before they even got back from breakfast.
