I am extremely disappointed with the alterations performed on my wedding dress. I specifically requested that an additional layer be added underneath the sleeves. Instead, the tailor cut off my original sleeves, replaced them, and added floral appliqués that I never requested or approved. This permanently changed the look of my wedding dress and left me devastated. A wedding dress is one of the most important garments a person will ever wear, and I trusted this shop to make a modification--not redesign part of the dress without my permission. I went in for a simple alteration--closing up a 1-inch slit on my dress. Without even assessing the work, a male worker quoted me $50, plus a 25% rush fee for needing it in a week. A seamstress later examined the dress and confirmed it was a quick, two-day fix. I assumed the extra fee wouldn't apply--but I was wrong. Nany did an amazing job with my wedding dress! The bridal boutique I got my dress from recommended Nany to me. I needed my dress altered from the top as the straps were too long & needed to be shortened, the dress needed to be bustled & hemmed on the bottom as well. She also took the dress in in the back so it could hug to my body more & flare out. This was done beautifully! They actually removed the embroidery on my dress to take it in & then put it right back. It looked completely untouched & seamless! My dress was mesh in the back & I wasn't fully comfortable so she added another lining of mesh to make it look more opaque to my skin tone. They're amazing! Now please note that this is NOT cheap. I had no idea how much bridal alterations were so I was in shock at the price. But the work was amazing nonetheless! $100 belt, asked if they can't punch two extra holes. Very confidently they said they can do it in two days, price $5/belt. They set up the pick up appointment. When I show up for pick up I'm told my order is not ready because they didn't have the right tool and they forgot to tell me. I agree to wait for them to get the right tool and fix the issue. Today I went to get my order and I see they screwed it up and I was not happy about it. The guy offered to refund me the $5 and I told him that doesn't fix the problem because it's an expensive belt. If you prefer a phone appointment, they answer very quickly as well! The Process: I started the alteration process for my 2 dresses back in mid-January for my April wedding. I received my final dress today, March 21st, with great satisfaction. I recommend you get started early! The Appointments: I was able to bring 1-2 family members with me to my fitting. I think that's always a nice touch. I had the pleasure of working with Teresa. She is MORE THAN AMAZING. She would do her own fitting, measurements, and give recommendations. I did not feel like I was being pushed to get unnecessary work done at all with her. She's also super sweet. I also enjoy working with the support staff there. The Deliverable: My dresses exceeded my expectations. Everything looks so fitting and totally were done with love and care. You will not be disappointed. I've gone to Nany's three times, and two out of three experiences were negative. Every time has been very expensive. The first was a $300 dress bought online, she charged me almost $400 for a hem and take it in. The second was a $75 dress online, she charged me $80 for a hem and add a stitch to the neckline. The work was poorly done. To put this into perspective, I was quoted $10-15 elsewhere recently for a hem. The final time was my wedding gown. She charged me $1,080 for basic alterations -- a hem, bustle, add bra cups, and bring in the waist. I ended up paying $980 since I paid in cash (don't make that mistake because then you can't do a charge back on your card). I was desperate to take it somewhere, and Nany was my only choice since other seamstresses were booked up. That should have been a red flag. She does the hem right in front of you, which is very scary. She takes a pair of scissors and starts cutting up your dress right in front of your eyes. I could have done this myself. You think "she's going to clean up the messy scissor lines later behind the scenes" but no. She charged $300 for a hem that she did literally in front of me in 5 minutes. Very messy and scary. She also cut it about an inch too short, which drove me crazy. She cut into my dress before telling me the price, I felt compelled to pay and go through her. Looking back, that is highly unprofessional. Don't ever cut someone's garment until they've agreed to the price. There is a huge lack of transparency here. Her alterations were so poorly done. My dress was a designer gown that retails about $3000. It fit me almost perfectly, so there's no way it needed $1000 worth of alterations. She's a scam artist. She didn't bring it in enough, so it was falling off me all night. She also didn't properly sew in the bra cups, causing that part of the dress to collapse onto itself and unevenly put weight on the boning. This caused problems all night. The worst was the bustle however. I paid $350 for her to make my dress look hideous. I sent her messages expressing my concern about the bustle and told her in person I wasn't happy with how it was done. Buttons were also falling off, so not only was it ugly, it wasn't even functional. She kept saying she couldn't do it any other way, which is a huge red flag. There are many types of bustles, and she doesn't know how to do any of them. Take a look at the photo attached. You can see my dress has a beautiful long train with tons of detail. The middle photo is how Nany bustled it -- it's frumpy, ugly, and hides all the beautiful detail of the train. I hated it so much I left there in tears. I started calling other places immediately and found a bridal specialist located in Temecula who squeezed me into her busy schedule. Even though she had 12 hours of work on her plate that day, she managed to see me because I was so desperate. I drove 2 hours total and spent several hours in Temecula while this other woman worked her magic. The third pic shows the final bustle that Nany is not capable of doing. Look at how elegant and flattering it is. That's exactly how a bustle should look -- not the monstrosity you see in the 2nd pic. The other woman said the alterations were so poorly done by Nany and that Nany overcharged me by at least $500. She was appalled at how poorly the bra cups were sewn in and said the bustle Nany did "gives her nightmares." Not to mention Nany's shop is hot and stuffy and you have no privacy when you're changing. There's always a bunch of people in there staring at you during your appointment. It's physically uncomfortable. TLDR: Don't pay Nany $1000 to ruin your wedding gown and do lazy work. Go to the bridal specialist in Temecula. She's easy to find. read more

I got my wedding dress altered here 3 years ago. I was charged about $1,000. I took it home, tried it on, moved, and a seam ripped open. I am 5' 2" and petite. I had not gained any weight for this to have happened. I was heartbroken! The care for detail and skill set was clearly poor. There was one woman there, a sweet older Hispanic woman that worked very well, but it felt like several women with different level of skill were working on my wedding gown. Overwhelmed that my dress had ripped open. I took it somewhere else and paid AGAIN for someone to do it properly because I didn't trust them and I didn't want to waste my time anymore. If you have a dress that needs a lot of altering and has a lot of beading and lace, I would HIGHLY advise you find another place. I think this place does more basic alterations or something because I don't know how their ratings are so high. It makes me sad to have had to make a bad review but this was truly my experience. I had some satin pants that were hemmed at a tailor in NorCal, but it was not done as expected and I was left with super long and loose pants for my engagement shoot. I contacted multiple tailors on Yelp on a Thursday night hoping for a last minute appointment and Nany Lamasat Bridal is the only one who said they could help. The owner, Nevine, was quick to respond and only needed me to book an appointment on their website. The following day (Friday), I was running very late (2 hours!) after a delay in my flight and traffic from Burbank and the lady who answered my phone was very understanding and said I can still come in. When I finally came in, the staff was so kind and attentive. Mauricio, the tailor, immediately noticed how long my pants were with my heels and recommended a certain length. He was very pleasant to work with! I'm so used to tailors who are impatient and demanding, but Mauricio is the complete opposite. I also asked him to take in the waist a bit, and he even explained how he would do it. There was a rush fee of $30, but it was worth it! I appreciate him so much for being very competent in his work.
