I came here with family a little while back for a brunch. Let me start of with the "negative" to get it out of the way. The only issue I had was with the music. Playing music is 100% fine, but it was louder than I was expecting and I wasn't a fan. Moving on. Other than that, I loved it! I got the oxtail plate which came with plantain, rice and peas, and I got a side of steamed cabbage. The oxtail was so good and tender, it fell off the bone. Not a real restaurant so zero on ambiance. Just a take out location for several restaurant fronts. Despite accepting order and charging my credit card, Naomi's Island Cafe nor my food anywhere to be found . Staff at the location unable to help for refund as order never made it to their end. Oxtails....that's all imma say. I haven't had an oxtail in a few years. And when my friend's food came before mine I tasted it. I immediately found my waitress and switched from the lobster rasta pasta, which I was told was good when you add the sauce from the lobster to the pasta. The oxtails and grits were a hit for me. I didn't get my waitress's name but baby she was the ultimate multitasker. She was very professional and 40 people had their own tab. That's a big deal! Soooooo disappointing. The chicken tasted like regular chicken, no jerk in sight. The only bit of the chicken that had flavoring was the skin, and it was still very mild seasoning , i'm just perplexed. Finally, a Caribbean Cuisine done right. So I was a little hesitant in ordering from Naomi's Cuisine ,through Uber Eats. Because they didn't have much customer reviews. So I took a chance and don't regret it. Let me tell you, why this is my new spot!! 1. The bag is stabled, so you know that no one has tampered with your food. 2. The portion size of the food are worth the price that they charged. 3. I bought large portions for my family and it took us 2 days to eat . No cap!!! 4. Let me start this by saying food is good and the restaurant is clean and has a really cool vibe. I went to Naomi's Last week with my brother and I had the Catfish Sandwich which is pretty good. So I wanted to put my wife on this week. The plan was to order online using Afterpay but the Catfish Sandwich or Salmon plate was not on the menu. After attempting to call 3 times, I went inside to ask about both dishes and was told "The Catfish Sandwich isn't online but the Salmon Plate should be.". The Salmon wasn't online. So I asked if I could order the Escovitched Fish and substitute for Salmon and was told to "just order here.". I said I can't because my wife is paying online and was told by a women who had on chefs clothing "she's gonna have to show her card when she comes in to pick up the food." It's with Afterpay, so there wouldn't be a card to show. Also the website promotes the use of Afterpay. I go back outside to finish the order with my wife then I come back to confirm they got the notes "Substitute Snapper with Salmon" on the order because I had to order the Red Snapper because it wasn't online like stated earlier. The gentleman working the bar says "We got the order.". I'm like, "cool". He goes in the kitchen for a couple of moments then barges back through the doors and says "What you order? I show him the email that I got back from the order which was Panades, Red Snapper Plate, and Veggie Plate. He say "Aw, alright.", goes back into the Kitchen. Then a different lady comes to me and says "One of the items you order we were out of, so we had to cancel your order and refund you the money, but if you order right here, I can get everything made expedited for you.". I ask inquisitively, "What item was out?" and the lady responds "The Panades.". At this point my wife and son are now both in the restaurant cause now my son had to use the bathroom. Me and my wife agree to order the food without the Panades. The woman says I can take your order and tell her that we are ordering online with Afterpay. She says "Afterpay, that form of payment isn't working, that's why we had to cancel the order.". I said, "you just said the order was cancelled because the Panades were out?". She says yes the Panades are out and that form of payment isn't working. I responded "So the order was canceled because of the Panades and the afterpay doesn't work". She said yes. If you are still reading this, you know that doesn't make sense. At this point, I was upset because I was clearly being lied to. So on top of being not listened to from the beginning in regards to the Salmon plate not on the menu, or having to go inside and ask about the menu after calling 3x and getting no answer, I got lied to in my face. The point of this post is not to bash the restaurant. The food is good. Please eat there. This more so for the ownership and staff and letting them no matter how good the food is was that first time, my second visit is the experience that I am left with and that wasn't cool. Especially when I'm returning and bringing someone who's never had the food before. Hope you refer to this and use to connect with your and guest and not judge them.
